They had a small selection of wines by the glass to choose from, which I liked, as I feel overwhelmed by pages of options that you often get with wine lists. I liked the buttery Chardonnay I tried a lot! They also have NA drinks available such as the Izzie sparkling waters. The descriptions of the wine on the menu were also helpful and the staff were also very helpful and kind. They were super attentive to everyone in the group as I was there for a Silent Book Club event. I did wish they had a few more food options or substantive snacks but the options they had were nice and including a range of dietary needs (I.e., vegetarian, gluten free, nut free). The ambiance was really really nice for sipping a class of wine and reading or chatting and it was very cozy and modern.

Swore I wrote a review before from my visit in August. My friend and fellow Yelper Torrie N and I checked out this new tasting room in Ballard. I had just been to a tasting the day before and the experience was so much more fun and informative here. Co-owner Alex Oh was doing pours and is the sweetest, so welcoming makes you feel right at home. When I saw the logo I realized I had been to the Capitol Hill space for a group event. This was so much nicer to have an intimate conversation with Alex about their wines. While we were there we found out they had been broken into recently. If you're in the neighborhood pay them a visit and show them some love. With all the breweries in our neighborhood it is refreshing to have a place to go to for wine tasting. Flash forward to Halloween a neighbor friend of and I have been taking walks and discovering local businesses. I wanted her to check out this place. Happy to report she loved it as much as i did. Both Owners Alex and Samuel happen to be there in costume handing out candy to neighborhood kids. It was nice to chat with them as we did one of the flights and noshed on a few of the food offerings. We're looking forward to bringing more friends to visit.

So accommodating for our birthday celebration!! The wine was great and the ambiance was lovely. Employees were so kind.

New location! Fabulous French-style Washington wines. The owners said that outdoor patio seating should be open soon.

Respite was first on my radar screen after stopping by a nearby cake business back in Sept 2024. But I have only recently stepped inside to do Too Good To Go late night pickups on 10/16/25 and 11/6/25. This is one of many newer businesses along the stretch of Stone Way N from Seattle's Wallingford to Fremont neighborhoods. This is a nice, intimate spot with welcoming staff. There are both table and counter seating on the main floor, additional seating on the upper floor. Pleasant, cozy ambiance with wall art, merch, and low light. Quite a large variety of wine bottles to imbibe onsite or peruse for purchase and takeout. Judging from my TGTG pickups, they have a great baked goods source/purveyor whether from onsite or obtained elsewhere. I've been able to enjoy quality baguettes, artisan loaves, sweet and savory baked goods. This is indicative that onsite menu items are high quality to accompany any apps/small plates/charcuterie plates and glasses of wine. I look forward to someday an actual onsite visit to experience this first hand.

I've enjoyed a chocolate cake with delicious chocolate ganache for dessert. Carrot cake and shortcake with fluffy whipped cream are lovely as well.. that's the good stuff. Plus, the staff are all incredibly nice. Definitely check this place out - it's a date night kind of vibe, so bring your significant other or go for a first date!!

I settled in and chose their Aluel Signature Flight and their Aluel New Release Flight, each a carefully sequenced lineup of their handcrafted Washington estate wines. The Signature Flight had richer, more developed profiles while the New Release offered bright, excited youth. The server said they often have them for pairing events, so depending on timing you might catch fresh oysters too. Compared to other wine bars or tasting rooms in town, Aluel strikes a rare balance: serious about wine craft but laid back in vibe, welcoming instead of pretentious, and offering well curated bites that elevate rather than distract.

Both are dog friendly and our waiter even brought my dog a water bowl! Our servers were attentive and friendly. Food and drink were prepared and served quickly. Thank you Luke and Jeff for the wonderful service! I would recommend the brisket sandwich with a fries upgrade. The brisket is tender and juicy and pairs well with the slaw. The ciabatta bun is the best vehicle for all the deliciousness of the sandwich. But the stand out for me was the fries! Perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection, dipped in the aioli...YUM! To drink, I had the non-alcoholic spicy blueberry mocktail. It's spicy from the Fevertree ginger beer and slightly sweet from the blueberry. The fresh mint was a fragrant and delightful garnish. It comes in the coolest copper mug! If you're in the Ballard/Fremont area looking for outside seating, cocktails/mocktails, and tasty food, make sure to check out The Barrel Thief!

We ordered the meat and cheese platter along with a couple of drinks, and everything was Grade A. I'm giving it an A+ though, because of Luke's outstanding service.
