First time checking out the Cove. Made a reservation on their website and requested for patio seating and was able to get the table outside! The patio is dog friendly if you are wanting to take your dog with you. There is paid parking right out front. We ordered a bottle of Merlot wine, Proscuttio flatbread, hummus plate and the potato wedges. Everything came out hot and fresh. The inside has more tables but is really loud. Would prefer outdoor as you can have a conversation without screaming across the table, I will definitely be coming back again! read more

The cove is a nice place located by Lake Union, and it's a good place for socializing. The decor is modern inside, and there is some seating outside by the lake. We came around 5:45p on a weekday, and there was no wait. There is a paid parking lot right by the place. The service was good, and the waiter and waitress checked on us a few times. I wanted a Rose that's more dry than sweet, and I got some recommendations. The price is on the higher side, but on par for the location (and well, it's Seattle pricing) However, the place was so loud, to the point that I was struggling to hear what my friend was saying. I'd say it may not be a good place if you prefer intimate conversations. I think the seating outside would have been better. read more

This place has so much potential. The space is beautiful, very open, and has a great ambiance, but the service really needs work. The hostess was sweet and honestly the most helpful person we interacted with. Unfortunately, our waitress came across as pretty condescending anytime we asked questions. For example, when we asked what came on the charcuterie board, she explained it was "a variety of meats, cheeses, and dried fruits." When we tried to clarify and asked what specifically was included, she responded with, "Again... meats, cheeses, and dried fruits." It felt unnecessarily dismissive. After ordering food, I ordered a cocktail but later realized it came from a can, so I politely walked up to ask if I could change my drink order. Instead of quietly handling it, she yelled across the restaurant to the bartender to cancel the espresso martini. The restaurant wasn't loud, so it just felt awkward and uncomfortable. When the food arrived, it was simply dropped off with no explanation. The small plates were hidden under oversized napkins, and when my friend asked if we could get small plates, the waitress pointed and said, "They're right there." There were three of us and only two plates, so we had to ask again anyway. Then when our drinks came out, she held the tray out and told us to "grab your drinks" instead of setting them down herself. She didn't say it rudely, but it felt odd from a service standpoint. To be fair, the food and drinks themselves were good. That's what makes this more disappointing because the place really could be great with better hospitality and attention to service. As we were leaving, who I assume was a manager was standing at the bar on a laptop and said "thank you" without looking up or making eye contact. She looked visibly annoyed. When I got there my friend asked me if I had ordered a bottle of prosecco they brought to the table without saying anything and even poured it out. We assumed it was complimentary and started to drink it. 20 mins later somebody came by to say that they made a mistake and if we were "good with it". What are you supposed to say to that when you've already started to drink from the glass? We had to flag someone down multiple times for silverware and a missed drink order. When we went to order dessert (about 9) the waiter told us the kitchen was closed ( never gave us a warning) and that literally the staff was packed up and ready to leave. We really enjoyed ourselves here. The food and service were better than I expected. The menu was a bit limited, but what we ordered was delicious. We sat both indoors and outdoors. Indoors is kind of dim and boring while the outdoors dining was fun and bright. The parking situation is going to be interesting for most. We came via bike and parked our bikes out front no problem. Looks like they also have short term boat parking nearby. Theres also a small park a few step away as well. Nice area to just hang for a bit. read more

My friend and I came on a late Friday evening to grab a drink and food. The place is right on the water and has both indoor and outdoor seating. There was a long line out the door which is expected on a sunny day. With only two of us, one of the workers gave us a standing spot on the narrow table top outside. Unfortunately, it took 10 mins to get a menu and then another 15 to order two Hugo sprits and a side of potatoes. When we asked to order the flatbread, the waitress said there wasn't enough room on the table and we can't order it since the area is more for standing. We were famished so she let us order the potatoes anyways. After another 30 mins we never received our drinks or app, and was told the worker who first greeted us when we entered the store, never put our name down on the waitlist. At that point, we left. Although they appeared to have a lot of staff, tables remained dirty for a while and we could only see one bartender. We were also told by a few workers that there's a lot of reservations but there's no-shows, so I'm not sure why people weren't seated quickly. The whole experience was a disappointment as I really wanted to enjoy this place; maybe will try again during off-hours at some point. read more

3.5 stars Came here with a group of 7 and the location is hard to beat. Outside seating is nice, but they didn't have anything that would work for our group so we stayed inside. It was hot, so I was okay to be inside. The decor is nice but it does also feel like it's missing something with the space. We sat in mixed seating near an active glass fireplace which I understand the vibe you're going for, but it is 90 degrees outside so it's a bit of an odd choice. I read several reviews about the service being an issue but had the opposite experience. Our primary server and others who checked on us were very attentive. Plenty of wine options to satisfy our group, though a few people ordered Rose and looks like the color was slightly different each time. We didn't get much food but that was a bit of a mixed bag. The bread with olive oil was warm which was nice. Sadly, the chips and crème fraiche was just Ruffles which seemed weird for a wine bar. I was extremely disappointed by two things in terms of service: 1. We had eaten outside and there was a bee laying in our food for a good 5 minutes and I'm shocked that the waitress had not offered to remake the piece that the bee had landed on. We visited on a gorgeous summer Friday night at peak dinner time. We were a party of 2. We were seated pretty quickly. Although we were inside, our seat was very close to the patio which had large open doors that made the space feel like a mix of indoor/outdoor. The food menu wasn't huge but I found there was something for everyone. There more than a couple vegetarian options so that was nice. We got the hummus, Greek salad, and cantaloupe and prosciutto. Everything was delicious. I had the wine flight that included a red, white, and rosé. I liked each of them. I found the service to be great. They were busy but the person who took care of us was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I realize that they are a new place and may have had some growing pains based on previous reviews, but on the night we were there, it was great. The location is amazing. Water, city, and sunset views were gorgeous. You can watch boats come and go from the docks nearby. Afterwards, you can walk on a little path right outside the patio to get closer to the water. I was really looking forward to checking out the newly renovated South Lake Union waterfront and its new restaurants, but my experience here was such a disappointment that I have no intention of coming back. As a long-time Yelper, I usually give restaurants a second chance before writing a review, but what happened here couldn't be brushed off as a typical "soft opening week" issue. From the start, our host was rude and unwelcoming. They forgot our order, and it took an unreasonably long time just to get someone's attention to check in. When we finally did, they brushed us off with a curt "it's on the way," without any apology for the delay. When our food finally arrived - Jamón and melon - it was incredibly underwhelming for the price. By the end of the meal, we were so neglected that we had to walk up to the front desk to ask to pay our bill. I understand that being out of stock on certain items happens during soft openings, but the staff's overall attitude made it clear they didn't care to help customers at all. The space itself, which I thought looked promising during construction, just felt like a generic hotel lobby with no atmosphere, no culture, no identity. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. We had an outdoor reservation at The Cove on opening day at 1p. We had an excellent time sitting in the sun, sipping wine, and watching boats and seaplanes. Mikey was our server and did a great job. I had the MONTINORE ESTATE L'ORANGE first and then a glass off the BOREALIS VINTNERS WHITE BLEND. I enjoyed both but actually liked the white blend better. The Cove has a great vibe and location. You come here to drink wine and vibe. If I were visiting Seattle, this would be at the top of my list on a sunny day. Level up your experience and arrive by water, they offer moorage on a first-come, first-serve basis. I'm only giving it 4 stars solely due to the pace/food. While the staff was incredibly friendly and kind, the service for food was a bit slow. It feels like a new-spot 'growing pain'. We'd heard super mixed reviews about this place from friends, so we decided to check it out ourselves - and honestly, we were very pleasantly surprised! We stopped by on Saturday night (7/20) just to grab a drink and some snacks before heading to dinner. It was busy (not shocking for a Saturday), and the outdoor area was totally full - but they gave us the option to stand outside, which worked perfectly for us. The biggest complaint we'd heard from others was slow or inattentive service, but that definitely wasn't our experience. Within 10 minutes of arriving, we had wine and some salty almonds in hand. Staff checked on us multiple times, and there were always a bunch of people running around making sure everyone had what they needed. It really seemed like something had changed behind the scenes?! We didn't try the full food menu, so can't speak to that part - but based on our visit, we'd say it's worth giving this place another shot. My husband and I came in without a reservation on a Thursday afternoon just after 4pm and though the venue was bustling, we were quickly seated at the short bar. We ordered a prosecco rosé and a guava spritz, both perfect drinks for a sunny afternoon. For food, we shared olives, chips & crème fraîche, and a Greek salad with chicken. While we thought it was a little strange that they all came out at the same time about 20 minutes after ordering (I would've thought the olives and chips would be out first), we weren't really here for a meal, more so for wine and a little nosh, so this was perfectly fine. The snacks were yummy and great to accompany our drinks. Though I wouldn't consider this a place for dinner, it's a perfect wine bar that happens to have some very good snacks, and that's just what I need for lunch or between meals. The Cove is definitely not prepared at all for the seattle summer rush. I'm hoping they're able to turn it around asap - I also acknowledge that have been open a week so still working through the pain points on what works / what doesn't . ATM - I'd deem this spot a tourist trap, sadly. Everyone is all over the place and it's clear there has been either zero training or the D squad was hired but it's too large of a space to not have clear owners of a section. Wait times are absurd, I'm patient but asking for ONE glass of wine 3x and then arriving 45 min later is unacceptable. In addition, how does a wine bar run out wine...? Ironic...even beyond all of this, I can look past it bc overall the wine selection is decent and prices are reasonable for some QT gal pal time. What really sealed the deal for me is when our snacks came out to the table...for $12 you've ordered yourself ruffles' best and deans sour cream scallion dip along with $18 qfc shrimp cocktail. Wonderful space down by the water to watch seaplanes take off and enjoy a glass and a bite with friends. Staff are warm and inviting despite how many people were waiting for a table. Ended up waiting for an hour (expected) and found out you can make a reservation ahead of time. The wine list was a good size with a nice variation of cost. The only reasons why I knocked down my rating were because I had to pull a different staff member to pay my tab after waiting half an hour with no check in from our previous waiter. Also, there were empty tables open while people were waiting that could've been used, but this could be for a reason unknown to me. Overall, would recommend if you've got the time to wait. read more

Ok, so update, came in around 2pm today and was seated by the sliding doors that opens into the outdoor seating area. I notice two black ants crawling around on the table and looked around as we all know, when there is one, there are more. There were so many crawling around the table and I located them at the doors and all along the edge there. Look at the photos and videos. I had to move myself to another table and that's it. This place left so much to be desired. I was so excited to try this spot! They advertise moorage but there are No Mooring signs everywhere. We found transient moorage and went inside. We brought our dog with us because we assumed we could just sit on the patio. As soon as we walked in the front door, all of the servers standing around the server desk looked at us and started whispering. The hostess said "My manager said dogs are a hard "No", even on the patio". Even if we could've stayed, the patio with empty tables was a 2 hour wait. Found this spot over the winter this year, and now it is a glorious spot in the sunshine! Short menu-great for sharing, and lovely wine menu. Location (and parking) cannot be beat for a seattle summer! And my book club was able to meet during the winter months when the space was quieter. read more

We were a party of 6, so gratuity ended up included with each separate check (they told us only three could be done, but in the end there were four). I paid $36.50 for one glass of Sauvignon Blanc wine ($12) and the vegetarian baguette (sandwich) ($16?). The sandwich had roasted red peppers, argula and some kind of thick cheese slice - must be new menu addition as no where in searching for specs does it exist at this time. Tasty. The bread was super soft, which was a happy surprise and cheese was gooey. They don't have an extensive wine list, but there's still a good variety of 6 choices per of red, white & roses. We sat at our inside table for nearly 1.5 hours before we had to flag down our server to place another order and then were told we could go outside to take in the view, however, when we did that we lost our table inside. Understandably, this is a new-ish wine bar however, it's disappointing to see the reality of this place not match what you see on social media.
