This company is the worst I've ever experienced as pest control services in my entire homeownership life. Their techs are not equipped to perform their job onsite and they do not allow their techs to go into crawlspace or attic due to not having liability insurance....as I was told by their techs. My contractors were amazed that a pest control company has thie type of rules not allowing their crew to access crawlspace and attic but only peeking. My home has since turned into a nesting site for rodents under Aptive's care. I found out they only put one poison bait box outside my home to cover a 27k sq.ft. area of a 6k sqft home. My previous providers put at least 4-5 bait boxes. Recently, we started to see mice inside the home and their techs kept saying there's no evidence of activities until we escalated for re-servicing because we knew as a matter of fact there's activity. Truth be told, one of their best techs (Shannon) came back over found and trapped 2 rodents...he also confirmed the rodents have dug burrels into our wall insulation and nesting inside. Likely there are more to be found. Unfortinately Shannon doesn't usually service our home. Most recently, they sent their service manager on the same day that our insulation contractors were inspecting the crawlspace and they found 6 additional rodents trapped. Aptive's service manager went down to the crawl and came back up and again...just like others they sent...with a standard answer telling me there's no apparent activities and found no dead rodents on traps. I was so pissed since my insulation contractors were just down there 30mins ago confirming the evidence and took a bunch of photos on the droppings and those trapped rodents on glue. They are basically useless when it comes to rodents. Their branch manager (Tim) offered to give us full refund but at this point we are pursuing litigation for damages due to negligence. I also took a photo on their website advertising rodent elimination guarantee. This is a disgrace on how companies made bold claims to lure customers that has no backings and isn't sustainable long term. Be careful with this company. Stay away if you want serious protection. read more

This is a scam business; be very wary. They came to our door and tried to smooth talk us despite several no soliciting warnings. We naively succumbed to the pitch bc we were having issues with spiders and needed an exterminator anyways. We paid and had them "service" the property. We had more spiders show up and they were certainly not dead. They arbitrarily chose their own follow-up appointments and claim they came back to treat the outside again. I strongly feel this was untrue as I was home and never had someone at the house. The spiders have gotten increasingly worse since they came. This is service is not helpful. They also tossed in a supposed byline in the "contract" that we did not realize we were signing. We thought it was like an exterminator in which you get the appointment and we scheduled one Followup. Apparently we have to pay them for $250 worth of cancelation even though their service is bogus. And the employee who answered the phone was flippant. We signed a paper invoice for one appointment and a Followup. But apparently we have an electronic contract. That steps far past the line of shady business into dishonesty. DO NOT USE THIS DISHONEST COMPANY. *Yes, I did use this service personally. No these are not false accusations. We were greatly ripped off. read more

A rep came to my door 6 months ago. We have a problem with spiders on our deck and he assured me they could take care of them. After two visits, there have been no changes and I'm completely unsatisfied as they have had no effect whatsoever. Not sure, if they are just cleaning the cobwebs, spraying water, and saying they did something. So far, completely worthless. I got a notification tonight they are scheduled for their 3rd visit and I requested a cancellation of their service. I immediately get a bill for $300 invoice to be paid today for a "discount". I am very disappointed with Aptive pest control. The company deserted no star. They claim the chemical is not harmful to dogs, but my dog vomited every time after treatment. Several times the schedule was messed up that I had to call and call again to confirm. Also, I still see all sorts of bugs inside and outside of my house after a year of service. For these reasons, I asked the technician to cancel the service back in Oct after he finished the last treatment. I did not know he failed to cancel the service until two months later when another technician showed up. The local office told me I need to wait for the corporate's response to my request. I am very upset about being played around when I am still waiting for a confirmation of cancelation. read more

We had some rodent activity and he quickly helped identify the entry point and plugged it up to prevent any further problems. He also made sure I knew that he would come back to service our home again if we had any further issues. I had a problem with yellow jackets last August which company eliminated their first trip. As I recall, they require you to sign up for four visits, with the second one month after the initial visit which they call a follow-up visit. They then came the third time three months later and said they would spray around the house, use a broom to eliminate any spider webs in the eves, and spray the landscape which I asked them not to do. The fourth visit for the year is scheduled for mid-March, seven months from the first visit. That does not equal a years coverage. This will be the last time I have them come out under the contract, and will not renew because other than the first visit, the remaining visits were unnecessary and not worth the cost. It would have been less costly to pay double for the initial visit and stop there. read more

Too bad I had to give one star. Should be zero! After my last treatment I found a huge spider the next day on my shop door. The tech that came was on his phone more than working. I sent a picture in and they sent a guy out the next week. He came and was surprized of all the spiders at my house. Two days later I have another huge one out my back door. This was two weeks ago. They sent a reminder that they were coming back out for next treatment. I called and canceled that. They came anyways when I was not home. In my contract it states to come after 3 when I am home. A tech has even confirmed tgat before. I call and get a young manager that was terrible and so rude I was shaking. Arguing with me that they are doing their service and I had no choice but to continue my contract. I then asked what service they performed that day. He said THEY SPRAYED INSIDE MY HOME! NO ONE WAS THERE! I told him this and he said there must have been a relitive. There was no one there. I have reached out twice since then and have had no response. I have used Aptive services for a few months now after moving into our new home. We have a lot of spiders around our home due to the green belt behind our home. I figured after the first or second service we wouldn't see nearly as many spiders or bugs. Not the case. I have expressed my concerns to Aptive and I get no response. When the service tech comes to our home he's there less than 3 minutes sweeps the cobwebs and leaves. A door to door sale man came one day and talked with my brother and they left. The next day someone came to our house and rang the doorbell. I was in the middle of something so I figure if they had no businesses with us, they would just leave if I didn't answer the door. They kept on ringing the doorbell for another 10 minutes so I dropped what I was doing and answer the door. After, I went out the door, there was the same sale person from yesterday who was talking to my brother. I thought my brother and he made an arrangement to come visit our house since they were keep ringing the doorbell for 10 minutes without leaving like they were supposed to be at our house. They said they were in the neighborhood doing pest controls door to door and they have done 15 other houses in the neighborhood. They explained what the service was. It was apparently 270 something dollar worth of pest control service for 100 dollars. They said they take care of ants, spiders, fleas/ticks, and sowbugs. Since I thought this was arranged with my brother and the deal sounded very nice, I agreed to get the service done. I didn't ask them if they arranged the meeting with my brother. My brother was not at the house so I called him but he didn't pick up the phone so without thinking second time I said yes. After I said I wanted to get service done the sale person named "Jayson" or "Jason" asked for my information. Phone number, email and credit card information. He said I had to get into 1 year contract (which they come in once every season and do pest control. so total 4 times (including the first service) of pest control sessions in one year.) if I wanted to get the discount for the initial 270 dollars worth of pest control for 100 dollars for the first service. And they said the second, third and the fourth services will be another 120 something dollars each time. and they said if we have any problems after the service, they would come back to the property and do more work as many times as needed. ******** THEY NEVER PROMISED TO MAKING THE PROPERTY PEST FREE BUT THEY RATHER JUST PROMISED TO COME BACK TO THE PROPERTY.********* We have a cat and the house was infested with fleas for years so I thought we would not have fleas for a year for 500 dollars a year and I singed the contract. They said if I wanted to cancel the contract I have to pay 170 dollars which is the discounted amount for the first service. ***ONLY AFTER I WENT THROUGH THE INFORMATION COLLECTING PROCESS AND EXPLANATION THAT TOOK ABOUT HALF AN HOUR, HE MENTIONED ABOUT THE CONTRACT AND CANCELLATION FEE. HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE CONTRACT OR CANCELLATION FEE UNTIL THE VERY LAST MOMENT. HE TOLD ME ABOUT THE CONTRACT AND CANCELLATION FEE AFTER HE TOOK THE CREDIT CARD INFO WHICH WAS THE LAST INFORMATION I GAVE HIM*** After the contract was signed, 2 people came to the property on the same day, and did some work inside and outside of the house. It took about 45 minutes in total to do 3,290 Sq.Ft house and landscape. They sprinkled something around the edges of the property to block the fleas from coming in to the area. They also sprayed some chemicals on the carpet. They emailed me the lists of chemicals they used in the invoice. ALPINE (AERSOL) (Dinotefuran), and TAURUS SC(Fipronil), and BIFEN LP (Bifenthrin). which you can get from the internet or stores. Weirdly the invoice they sent me was inaccurate. The invoice said they only did exterior foundation and landscape works. They didn't mention about the carpet spraying in the invoice. ******After the first service was done, we didn't have fleas for about 2 weeks and fleas came back.****** I called them and canceled the contract because the service seemed ineffective and price seemed to be too high and I didn't want them to come back to the property every 2 weeks. I had to pay the $170 cancellation fee. It seems that buying $10 flea spray from amazon and spraying them on the carpet would have the same effect. It was definitely a bad decision for me to get in to contract for fleas. Maybe for ants and spiders they would be effective. I did not think enough before getting into the contract. To conclude, I want to give them 1 star because of the reasons I mentioned on my review. They mislead you with the information and service is ineffective. I felt like I got scammed. I hope this review help with people who are considering to get service from them. ***UPDATE*** 6/7/2018 Today they called me and left me a voice message saying that if I take the review down, they would give me the cancellation fee back. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! This has been one of the worst experiences from a service company I have I have ever had. It started with the first treatment when there was actually more bug activity after they left. I reached out and they explained this is normal which was not explained to me so I did not want to continue their services and requested to cancel. After 4 weeks of trying to cancel they said it would be a $130 cancellation fee. Well, then a send someone to do the 30 day treatment the next day. My father answers the door and lets them spray. The guy only did the front because he said a dog was in the back. So now they want me to set up another time for a tech to come out and do back yard when all he had to do was knock on the door AGAIN and ask that the dog be put inside. This seemed shady because I just requested to cancel and then they do a half job and leave as quick as possible then charge me a full amount. I would highly recommend NOT using this company. I was solicited by a door to door Aptive representative even though there is a posted sign in the neighborhood that explicitly states No Soliciting. I was not pleased with it but I decided to try them for a year since I was having issues with spiders in the back. They usually send a different person every time and I have to explain to them every time what I do and don't want. A few guys were nice but most don't seem to give a damn. A few of them hardly did anything which left me having to take care of it on my own. The last guy who came (another different person) again, didn't seem to give a damn. I explicitly told him that I just want him to spray the outside perimeter of my house because I honestly just wanted him to get in and get out. Next thing I know he's spraying pesticide all over my garage floor and getting the pesticide on my personal belongings in the garage. Then to top it off, he broke the handle on my screen door enclosure around my pool which left me stuck inside the enclosure and having to "repair" it just to get out. I am absolutely going to cancel them and I certainly don't recommend them. read more

The fact that the owner looked at it and took his time to respond is respectable, and I am adding 1 Star to the review taking it from 1 to 2 stars. The reason why it still doesn't deserve more is because of the content of response. I was suggested to call the office to delist my address from further solicitation. Seems like deflection and avoidance of the problem. The problem is not that my house exists. The problem is that your sales people are aggressive and rude when they knock on my door. An appropriate resolution to my complaint would be to retrain the sales team rather then have me call the office and have my address taken out of your records. read more

I usually don't buy things from door-to-door sales people, let alone listen to them, but Kevin was very personable and respectful of my time as a single mom. He was very honest and made sure I understood what I was signing up for, and addressed my concerns for the local wildlife (bunnies!) as well as making it easy for me to schedule the service. Kina, the technician that came out on the 4th of July of all days, was very friendly. She explained the contract to me, addressed my concerns about wasps, and made sure I understood that they will come back at no extra charge. I absolutely hate spiders, so I am very happy that someone has helped remove them from my property! We have had Aptive protecting our home for a year now and have been very happy with the result. It was a bit startling at first....a (masked) sales person just popped up at my door on a hover board last spring was very pushy. I sort of pushed back at him and got him to relax a little. Once I got him off the "company sales script" and I could ask him questions and have a normal conversation, I like the idea of the safety aspect of their treatment. I was also unhappy with our current service (a national company) and, truth be told, I felt a bit sorry for the salesman. Cleary the company pushes them too hard. So I sort of caved and signed up. That being said.... after a year of service I have noticed that I am not seeing nearly as many slugs, spiders, etc. I live near the water and rats are a big problem for us and with Aptive I have had no issues. I love that their products are pet and environmentally safe. I wish they would change up their sales tactics - BUT.....Give them a try! read more

Their sale techniques are enough to understand how shady their business are. A sale representative came knocking to our door recently (good timing because the day before I discovered a bee nest), explaining their services, showing up their "competitive prices", which include a 349$ initiation feee, a quarterly 199$ fee. But, because he was already in our area today (big emphasis on this), he would void the initiation fee. When I told him I wasn't interested in a membership program, he offer to lower the first month to 100$ instead. I told him I was gonna think about it. Then later in the day I texted the guy saying I was not interested after all, and told me he was gonna do the whole year for 400$ because he "sold enough subscription for the day to be able to offer such an offer". This was the final turn off. Anyone signing a full year contract with a company who does this kind of practice is just looking for trouble. This is the worst environmental services company we have ever experienced. We have lived in our home for the last seven years, since it was built. Since hiring in this company, we have seen more spiders than we have ever seen in our life living in this home. When the service person came today, she was extremely rude. She told me she had 25 other homes to do before the sun goes down. I told her that is not my problem, right now my problem is all of the spiders around my home and inside my home. She asked me if I want to service or not, stomped her foot, was very rude and I had to tell her to get off of my property. This company is extremely unprofessional. The products and services they provide Do not help. They made up some very lame excuse as to why we are seeing more spiders than we ever have. The service person, named Keira, was extremely unprofessional and rude. She seems to have anger management issues. I would never recommend this company to anyone to use. Canceling the service has also proven very difficult. I am having to call my bank to let them know that any further charges from this company are fraudulent. read more

The salesmen came to my door today. While he did knock quietly due to our sleeping baby sign, when I answered the door he was not very receptive. I try to tell these door to door salespeople off nicely but he would not take the hint. Finally, I said I was not interested very bluntly. He said, "K bye!" and walked through my lawn to my neighbors. As a manager of "young professionals" these reviews would set off my "needs more training alarm." This boy needs help. read more

Don't plan on trying to call them unless you have 20-30 minutes to be on hold. Requested a bee's nest to be removed and the tech came out and was unable to remove such nest due to lack of equipment. Several times after a treatment I questioned whether they really did anything or not. They used to be better and I was able to call and get someone right away and they would send someone out for a re-service if I was unhappy (meaning I specifically found a nest of some sort on the house that should have been removed but wasn't). Now, any time you call you sit on hold for an extensive amount of time and when I called to cancel I was transferred twice with the third person "unavailable" and will call me back. It's easy. Cancel my account. One person should be able to handle that. Not THREE. And it should only take a few minutes, not THIRTY plus a possible call back! Save your money and avoid this company. read more
