He pushed the fact of still providing me information of "what they could do" Bi-Monthly and TWICE is much as what my company provides. RIDICULOUS. A nice young man sold me the service, persistent, but in no way rude. They've come out once a month and we've had few problems with bugs since. It's Florida, so there will be some bugs even if your house is on fire. They text, email, and sometimes call before coming out. Always polite, always careful to close the gates so the dogs don't get out. No ill-effects to the dogs. They do what they say they'll do. No upcharges, no hassle. Lost a star because I've been on hold for quite a while to cancel the service (we're moving). read more

Someone came to my door in July 2024, I had just moved into my home May 1 2024. I did not have a pest issue here, maybe I saw a dead cockaroach on a closet shelf when I moved in...., but having grown up in Florida, I knew pest control is ultimately going to be necessary. Based on everything the sales person said, It was my understanding, Aptive service is only $89/month for service once a month, due to agreeing to a 2 year service contract. (there were additional services promised that never occurred - like dusting off cobwebs on exterior and whatever are those weird sticktights that look like a small leaf on screens and side of house and other places). After the first 3 treatments, I began having significant issues with little tiny ants, on kitchen counters, floors, pantry; living room, foyer, bedroom, bedroom closet. I have multiple ant hills in my front/rear/side yards (10Ksf lot); my mailbox is constantly infested with the same ants I see in my house (my neighbors mail box right next to mine, 2 feet away has NO ANTS on it. I had another "extra visit" 10/4/24 when the issue was discovered after the 2nd treatment. the problem continued, the ants (hundreds or thousands, I could not count them) would come marching inside my home, about 1.5 - 2 weeks after normal service call. I explained this to every tech (always a different one) when a service call was made, and the answer was always "This is Florida, there are bugs". I know multiple people that live in Florida, and this has never been an issue for them, ever. my mother has used Nozzle Nolen in Palm beach county since 1979, no bugs in house, no bugs in yard!!!!! I canceled Aptive contract in writing, citing that they were not fulfilling their end of the contract. I also figure out, while I am actually paying $89/month like clock work and salesman told me service is every 30 days. contract provided to you after 1+hour of brow beating at my front door, then him having to call an Aptive rep summarizing contract terms ($89/month, 24 months, $199 cancel fee, name, number address)...,"electronic contract" reads, service will occur april-oct between 30-60 days....Nov to march every 50-80 days. so in the best scenerio, you are actually paying $106/month... or up to $178/month... to still have bugs in your home, regularly. Keep in mind, this may have been on the sheet in his hands, however, it got waived around so much....I did not see this, nor was told this. Since I've engaged with Aptive, I have zevo flytraps all over inside - lots of little gnats or whatever when house is closed up with AC on. In summer months, I spent a fortune on off/body spray with deet to sit on my screen enclosed patio to avoid getting bit by the ones flying around. I'm the one who goes out every other month knocking down cobwebs on all exterior frame work. I'm at my wits end, and NOW they want their $199 contract termination fee AND the February 2025 $89 payment...from which, no services were rendered (if you think you're paying $89/month for monthly service). I have never experienced a business in which it's only goal is to be paid and do absolutely nothing for it's customer. I suspect whatever they sprayed is actually attracting the ants! Buyer beware of this colossal scam and stay local for pest control or do it yourself!!! In short, no matter what is said to you, expect the reality that you could be paying up to $178 for a tech to come to your home, spray something that is actually creating a bug problem... then they will charge you more when you decide you don't like the bugs in your home/yard. read more

Door to door sales tactics. The marketing speech was fast and aggressive. The guy kept getting closer, invading personal space. I told him to step back twice. Asked for any written material, he had none. After I stated I would check the website and make a decision he said "you'll miss out on discounts then" well, ok, fine. I do not like rapid-fire sales pitches that I did not request. I do not like having my personal space invaded. It is threatening and only served to irritate me. Foe the sales tactics alone I will not use this service. Stay back, slow down, have some information to review, give people time to make an educated choice. I have a raised home. The solicitor was friendly and told us the initial service is $79 and they would do a follow-up visit within 30 days after application. We agreed to use their service, and he asked us to sign the agreement on his tiny phone screen. After 2 applications, we were dissatisfied with (NO) results so we called to ask the company not to return. We were informed that we would have to pay $199 cancellation fee to cancel the services!! Extremely aggressive door-to-door solicitation. You need a permit to do that in my neighborhood, they did not have one. My spouse is a softie and got badgered into signing a contract, which is on a tablet, no hard copies and some very fine print. Interestingly, license # said "TBD" on the emailed contract. It's possible they're not even licensed to apply pesticides in the state of Florida. Read the reviews of other APTIVE outlets in other states, and you'll understand the corporate business practices: locking you into a contract, adding services you didn't request, $250 cancellation fee if you bail out early of the one-year contract. Pro tip, I hope you're reading this in time, in your contract it's stated you can cancel within 3 business days with no monetary obligation. read more

I guess I'm the fool for hiring this company. Company has typical business model, solicit business with professional sales representatives who talk a great game. Unfortunately, In my Opinion, deceptive sales tactics are employed, outright misrepresentations on frequency of service, how your account will be billed, and again, In my opinion, complete lack of performance. I will admit, they are very good at billing, charging, bumping up charges, altering billing cycles to meet their local performance objectives, again my opinion by reviewing my billing. Think about this, during a recent service appointment, the technician was on my property for literally 6 minutes and 20 seconds. 4 minutes 15 seconds in his vehicle 20 seconds to knock on my door, acknowledge his presence and return to his truck 45 seconds to strap on backpack 38 seconds to fast walk spray my shrubs 15 seconds to take off backpack and put back in truck 7 seconds to take a picture of the house and leave Price for this service $69 I have now been billed for $199 because evidently I received their initial treatment at 50% off, PROVIDED YOU STAY A WHOLE YEAR! Ok, I'll pay it. I will also make it my mission to educate every person I come into contact with of my experience and opinion. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to lecture across the country and Adaptive has just provided an additional example to include in my curriculum. WARNING: This company is GROSSLY OVERPRICED in my opinion. Do your research, (again everything stated is my opinion from my own experience and now supplemented with research) Why pay monthly when a large percentage of companies do pest control quarterly (at lower rates ) and still service in between if a problem comes up. Don't spend money spraying for mosquitos in the dead of winter, another money making scam in my opinion. A young man on a Segway came by in June of 2023. He verbally said that that he would take care of our insect problems including mosquitoes for $160 every 90 days. The mosquito treatment was $50 and the remaining $120 was for insects. He had us sign a contract on a computer pad. What the contract said, and what he sold us on was two different things. They never dropped off the mosquito trap. They came 3 consecutive months. June, July and August. During 3 months we paid $54 for the initial treatment and $169 times 2 for a total of $392. After this, I noticed that we had more insects than ever before. Ants everywhere. Mosquitos everywhere Spiders everywhere. Understandably we called to cancel, and were told that we would have to pay a $199 cancellation fee. I informed them that we paid for things we did not receive, and that we have more bugs now than ever before. A supervisor said they would forgive the cancellation fee. That was the last we heard from them until March of 2023. We had a collection service call us saying we owed the $199. We called Aptive again, and were informed the contract said the every months treatments were OK according to the contract guidelines. Very unprofessional. We feel scammed. read more

Worst exterminator service I have EVER had. I have lived in my house for 8 years and never had a bug problem. Unfortunately my pest control service provider retired, so I signed up with Aptive. I thought the technicians looked like they were doing a really half-hearted job, and I guess I was right. You have driver that is reckless. They were not only tailgating and changing lanes erratically, but they speed down the center of road in the turning lane. They stopped in the middle of the street to make a uturn. That driver nearly caused 3 accidents all of which would have included me. Pest control seems to work, however they are EXTREMELY bad with communication and will just show up at your door without warning for the treatment. Problem is, they show up a month early before the treatment is due. And then a few days later they are trying to schedule to come again. Aptiv has been a major headache since day one. Call customer service and they said they transferred me only to hang up. Call back and fight your way through the phone tree and wait some more. Sales guy assured us they would rid us of millipedes (nope), sales guy said my reef tanks would be perfectly safe. First tech noted no issues, second tech (2 days late for appointment) said I need to turn off my tanks. They make you sign an annual contract. I was completely misled. This is fraud. Watch your billing!!! While the people actually providing the service were very friendly and helpful, the billing department is absolutely terrible. We paid for 4 quarters (1 year) and instead of billing us for quarters, they set us up for every 60 days. We were told that the service was guaranteed and any additional visits would be covered, however, after 4 of the 60-day visits (approximately 8 months), we were being charged for additional visits! We tried to explain the situation twice to billing, who could not seem to grasp that we paid for 4 "Quarterly" visits, we expected a year of service. After several weeks of arguing with them, we just gave up and cancelled the service. Which is sad, because the service and the actual providers were very helpful and professional. read more

I wasn't the most friendliest person at this point, but for someone that was supposed to be a "professional" he was extremely rude and disrespectful and had zero regard for rules and regulations. I would hate to think what these Aptive people do if you let them in your house or pay them to handle something of importance. Don't use scammy people like this. This "company" is a total scam. One month ago a representative was in our neighborhood offering a "special" on pest service. The deal would be $50 for the initial visit plus free "touch ups" in between quarterly visits. I explained to the rep that we are renting and would only be here 7 more months. She said it was no problem and that we would only be obligated for 2 visits. When I signed the documentation it said 7 months. When I was emailed the documentation it now said 12. That is completely deceptive and illegal. When the time for the initial service came the person who sprayed for only ten minutes and told my husband he couldn't find any ants nests so he would come back to respray. Two weeks passed and not a word or rescheduled service. Then I got a text message for my first quarterly visit. I was confused as my initial visit had not even been completed. I called the customer service number and was told by the representative that she would cancel the quarterly and reschedule the respray for the next day which was Saturday. Saturday came and went and no one showed up to respray. Then that following Wednesday I get another text message about my "rescheduled quarterly" which puzzled me because I had specially told the representative that I would call after the respray and schedule myself. Again I contacted customer service and spoke to manager Caleb about what happened and how I wished to cancel the service altogether as not only were the business practices deceptive, but the product hadn't worked at all; granted I'm not sure what would be accomplished within that ten minute period someone actually sprayed. I was told that I still had to pay the $200 contract termination- which seems unreasonable as my contract was falsified and I never actually received any service. I payed the $200 as it was apparent customer service and accountability means nothing to this company. I then contacted the Better Business Bureau and the message I received back from Aptive was that the multiple conversations I had with several representatives "never happened". So not only are they openly deceptive they also call their customers liars. Again this company is nothing but a scam do not waste your time or money. read more

When I first started using this company they were great. On the last visit in July of 2022, they charged me for services I did not receive on my scheduled appointment day. Once I contacted them they promised me a refund and a $30 credit. However, they never issued the credit and then told me all I could get was a Reservice I didn't want that because they didn't do the services they were supposed to do in the first place. Now it's August 1st and I've been charged 169.00 which is a discount I got for signing with them I'm told and they have taken the discount away. I just got off the phone with a gentleman named Andre and he said that according to my records I have fulfilled my contract and I have had all my scheduled appointments and he sees no reason for this charge. They have caused my account to go into the negative and I'm probably going to get hit with overdraft fees with I can't afford either. A request has been submitted to Michelle Botkins who has been no help at all but apparently is the rep in my area and the only one who can help me with this issue. I signed up with Christian Phillips when he was going door to door in my neighborhood and he was very nice at the time. If either of these people or anyone from this company tries to contact you don't talk to them. Find another company to use because this is not a good company to work with. read more

This company is just plain creepy. The original salesman (a weird young kid, actually) tried to impress me by dropping the names of several people on my street that he claimed were satisfied clients. Turns out that was a lie. Nonetheless, I took advantage of the huge first-year discount, thinking that the whole company couldn't be as odd as this little dude and that if I didn't like the service, I'd simply not renew. Well, I didn't make it a full year. It's a different "technician" every time who simply shows up with very little to no notice. What the #### am I supposed to do with that? How do you treat my interior if I'm not even in town? The first tech was actually pleasant enough, but as I spoke with her while she treated and answered some questions about the product she was using, it became very, very apparent through further subtle questions that Aptiv was far less concerned about customer service than they were about volume. She outright told me that she couldn't spend more than the allotted time at any one job site or she'd "be in trouble." And good luck with calling Aptiv. The people in the office seem to have a strange aversion to speaking on the phone. Contrast all this with David, my former Orkin guy of many years (and Kevin, my Orkin guy before that, was just like David). He knows me, my family, and my house very well. He calls me a week prior to ask what day I prefer. I give him one and he slots me in mid-morning (he knows I like the 10, 1030 time frame). If I need to reschedule or need extra service, I just call his company-issued cell and he picks right up or calls back within minutes. No way, no how can this ever occur with Aptiv. Never. After that truly weird, artificial feel of Aptiv, it is really nice to have David taking care of my house again. Unlike Aptiv, I know he'll take his time and will actually care about controlling pests in my home and not about how much my account contributes to the company's bottom line. read more
