So, if they can't take anymore pets one shouldn't take it personally. Aptos Grooming and Linda (Owner) are so good that they just can't take anymore clients. Much the same as doctors who's calendars are so filled up they can't accommodate any more patients without jeopardizing their relationship and treatment of existing clients. Established clients can't get in, in a reasonable time end up going elsewhere. That's no way to treat existing clients. Linda is honorable. She's a fabulous groomer. I've been lucky enough to have her be my dog and cat groomer for many years over. When I move next year, I'm going to wish I could take her with me. It will be hard to establish a new groomer that can fill her shoes. read more

We're brand new to the area and are looking for a new groomer for our pup. This one came so highly recommended, we thought I'd try them out. But we won't be able to share any experiences with this company because we called for an appointment and they won't take a new pet for appointments... not even 2 or 3+ months from now. How Very disappointing that one of the "best' groomers in town won't allow new pets and new families to the area to become patrons. How exclusionary. :-( I have lived a lot of places and have never been turned away or wait-listed from a groomer before. There is not another place I will ever take my pets as long as I live in the area! "B" is so accommodating and takes such good care of my little fur baby, Stella. They bathe her gently, trim her down and cut her claws. Any time I've ever needed to schedule an appointment, B has made an effort to squeeze me in when she can. I prefer to bathe my dog myself as she gets very nervous so I don't like to leave her. Nails on the other hand I leave to the professionals. I brought my dog in and was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable it was. I could hear my dog being comforted as she trimmed her nails. A few minutes later we were on our way! read more

Most of the reviews are about dogs...Anyone who has a matted or dirty kitty definitely needs to call Linda. She use to show cats and truly "gets it". My part Norwegian Forest Cat has a double coat and always starts to matt up around Christmas. Whenever I try to comb them out, he growls at me and fights it all the way...but with "Auntie Linda", he purrs and purrs and could not be happier (go figure). She is just magical with him and I cannot recommend her enough. He always comes home with the cutest cut and struts around the house letting the other cats know how special and handsome he is! On a side note: i am a volunteer at at our local animal shelter and just to let you know what a kind heart she has, she will clean up any of our mangy critters that come in to us for free and gets them beautiful and ready for adoption. Linda was recommended by a person I met while in line for coffee. She said that Linda was really nice, reasonable and understood Shih Tzu dogs. So, I was excited to give Linda a try. It took a couple of weeks to get in, and was told to leave my dog in the morning as early as possible and then pick him up around 6 hours later. So, I took him in and got him after work. He looked good and Linda was very nice. After walking him to the corner, I noticed he would sit down and look at me like he was bothered by something. We walked a little more and same thing...he'd all of a sudden sit and not move. Well this went on for over a week and finally I made an appointment at the vet. He said he had an inflamed anal gland and that maybe the person was a bit "agressive". Well, I wasn't happy about that at all. My little dog never has had a problem like that. Then another thing is, the person who referred me to Linda told me that small dogs are $37- . I liked the price. But when I picked my dog up, she told me it was $54-. Hummm. Why? Her sign said $37- for small dogs. Then when I looked at his ears, they weren't plucked or cleaned. Just a powdery mess and like little balls of stuff with the powder. It turns out he had an ear infection. (Why didn't she mention that his ears looked wierd? or something? Then I looked at his paws and she didnt clip the long hair that grew out of the paws. I won't be back. I was truely disappointed. read more

Her level of professionalism, knowledge, and skill all come together to provide the best in customer service and care. As a pet care provider I am often asked about where people can take their pets to be groomed. I first met Linda at Aptos Grooming when a client whose pets I was caring for had a grooming appt for their dogs while they were out of town. They came home looking absolutely gorgeous. We have taken our shih tzu to them several times, her grooming was very good. But I experienced the same thing with my dog as the lady in previous remark said, our dog also would walk some and sit down like something was bothering her. They may been rough how they shaved her private area, she has done this before when I brought her home after grooming. One occasion while dropping off my dog she had a small boy behind the counter that was making loud noises and putting his hands above him scaring dogs in the kennels. The last visit my dog did not want to go in and was shaking badly when I left her. When picked up she wanted out of there immediately. That evening she hardly ate and vomited. I don't what she experienced in the groomers but she seemed almost traumatized by what ever happened in there. I will not take my dog in there again even though they did a good grooming job on her. I just don't trust what they did to scare my dog so much, the kid again I don't know,.the dog never reacted this way to others groomers. read more
