Easy 5 stars! This place is fairly priced and offers an amazing variety. The best deal is definitely on the flowers. Both the potted and fresh cut options are absolutely beautiful and so affordable. There is truly something for everyone here and the staff is incredibly friendly. Definitely worth a stop as the vibe is special.

My first review of something other than a restaurant and it still has to do with food. This market at Cabrillo College is year round on Saturday morning. The vendors will start packing up around 11 - 11:30. It starts around 7. It is my favorite farmers market. The vendors are mostly certified organic, I did notice one had organic in it's name but had a sign that said they weren't certified. There are two rows of fruits and vegetables and one row that is mixed with food, coffee and other items. It is nice to buy the fruits and vegetables that are ripe when harvested, the taste is so much better. You can also find items that aren't to common like Fava beans. Some vendors will take credit cards, they will take cash and there is a stand that you can use your credit card to get "market money " that all the stands take. If you skipped breakfast to get to the market you might want to try the Farm bakery and cafe. Check out the reviews.

Ah, the simple joys of a well designed weekend farmers' market. This particular location gets to spread out over several upper level sections of a semi underground parking garage on the campus of Cabrillo College. This makes it very easy to park and walk into the market itself. The vendors represent a full range of what Monterey County has to offer plus extra vendors from surrounding counties. The selection is similar to what you might find in Santa Cruz but each market is different. I loved the pepper selection at the Cabrillo College experimental farm stand and some beautiful dry farmed tomatoes and organic shallots from a Davenport farm vendor. But there is a lot more than that, including shrimp and fish tacos & ceviche. Will all of this induce me to shift my regular market routine from Westside Santa Cruz? Doubtful. But if I have other plans in Aptos later that day - wine tasting, coffee, or perhaps pizza at Mentone- then I will be here first to stock up my Yeti cooler with fresh produce for the coming week before setting out on further adventure.

Moldy corn on the cob

Moldy corn on the cob here at the Aptos Farmers Market. I understand food goes to waste but how did the staff not see this mold when putting the stick through the corn. Very disappointed. Gross!

I love this farmers market. There are so many favorite vendors who come from so far to sell their produce here. Stack house who sell pulots, peaches, flavored almonds, Minazzoli Farms who sell peaches, plums, walnuts, Rodoni Farms who sell artichokes and Brussel sprouts, Sweet Elena Bakery who sell wonderful quiche, croissants and other baked goods, Beckmann's bakery for their banana bread and walnut , wheat cinammon bread, Webb 's Farm who is local farmer and has great produce. Vendors come from Stockton, Fresno, Santa Maria, Sand City.

But right afterward we came to Sunnyside Produce and the difference was night and day. That contrast made me realize how important it is to give credit where it's due, especially after calling out bad service somewhere else. Sunnyside absolutely deserves praise. From the moment we walked in we were met with kind helpful people who were actually attentive and happy to assist. There was no attitude or indifference, just friendly efficient service. The team here clearly cares about what they do and about the customers walking through the door. The produce is fresh vibrant and well-organized, with a great mix of organic and local options that are thoughtfully stocked. Everything looked clean and cared for from the shelves to the displays, and it made shopping here feel relaxed and enjoyable. The prices are solid too, better than most other local places when you factor in the quality. It does not feel overpriced, and you actually leave with the sense that you got value for your money. What stood out the most to me is the atmosphere. This place has a soul. You are not just shopping, you are being welcomed. That is rare. After our visit I felt like this review needed to be written not just to balance out a negative one, but because Sunnyside Produce genuinely deserves recognition for doing things right. If you are looking for a place with real service, real food, and real people, this is it.

If you ever imagined what a friendly urban NY do-it-all local market with deli, butcher, coffee…read morestation, and ethnic selection would look like, then AJ's Market at the Chevron gas station in Soquel will completely change how you think about convenience stores. Yes, they have gas and a car wash, but that is just the beginning. Inside, there is a gourmet kitchen serving up locally harvested seafood and Harris Ranch meats. The burger here is hands down one of the best in the county. It is technically fast food, but nothing like what you would expect from that term. AJ's goes way beyond typical gas station fare. You will find organic produce and treats from around the world like English biscuits, real maple syrup, and a Southeast Asian spice rack. They also offer an impressive selection of local wines, baked goods, ice creams, and coffees. Owner Akhtar Javed, originally from Pakistan, opened the market in 1987 after falling in love with Santa Cruz. He became a local legend after the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake when he let customers take what they needed and pay later during the power outage. AJ's Market is a true gem and worth the stop whether you need gas or not. P.S. AJ also carries dried cuttlefish so you don't have to travel to San Jose or find a Ranch 99. P.P.S. In addition to the coffee station, they also had a full cooler of Marianne's Ice Cream!
