Went out for an impromptu dinner at Apulia. Food was fantastic. The pork chop was about the best entree I have had in Charlottte county in recent memory. The green beans were crisp yet cooked, which is not the norm. The roasted fingerling potatoes were well executed too. Both of the veggies were well seasoned. Bless her heart, but she is was way too casual, way too rushed, way too short and not all that attentive for one of the finest of fine dining restaurant in the county. Wonderful food. A couple of weeks ago my wife and myself with some friends went to Apulia to dine. I was earlier told that they serve the very best tasting grilled octopus which I love. They serve the octopus as an appetizer, but were very accommodating and flexible by turning the octopus appetizer into a full meal for me. The octopus was the best I have ever tasted. Everyone else enjoyed their meal as much as I did. Great food, and the service was attentive while we were sitting in an attractive, relatively quiet atmosphere. It's a little pricey, but worth every dollar. read more

What a little hidden gem in a strip mall. I was craving some homemade pasta for dinner and I searched up Italian places near me. WOW! From the service, Annie was sooo sweet and attentive. She gave us amazing recommendations and the sweetest service. The meatball appetizer was amazing. The sauce was delicious and the meatballs were tender and full of flavor. My husband has the blue crab seafood pasta special and he devoured it. I was craving carbonara and I am still thinking about it. Will definitely be back!!! read more

Highly recommended but a little out of the way this restaurant is well worth the visit. Located in a Strip Mall. The ambience is moderately upscale and our waiter Mike was super pleasant and engaging, a real down to earth guy full of chatter and information. My wife had the Prosciutto Parma as an appetizer and she ordered the Red Snapper Piccata and savored every bite. I had Carbonara which was excellent although I'm not a big fan of egg noodles. A bottle of Montepulciano Bove topped our date night off. Like most restaurants today the prices are elevated which in my opinion limits the visits one normally would like to make. read more

One of My All-Time Favorites in Florida! I make a point to visit this cozy restaurant every time I'm in Florida, and it never disappoints. It's truly one of my top spots--everything on the menu is excellent. The chef, originally from Puglia, Italy, clearly knows his craft--the flavors and presentation are always on point. The service is consistently great, the drinks are well-made, and the wine selection is impressive. If you're lucky, you might be able to attend one of their wine tasting dinners--we went on September 22nd and it was absolutely fantastic. We're picking up our bottles this evening and looking forward to yet another outstanding dinner. read more

We went last night & I was excited. The atmosphere is great and certain dishes were very good like my salmon, the swordfish special, the mushroom ravioli. However, in my opinion the veal parm was overbreaded, not particularly tender and lacked sufficient gravy. We were charged an additional fee for asking for more gravy, which was never explained to us. Also we sat in a booth and my dinner was served over me. This showed a lack of training by the food runners. The portions were reall small for the price, particularly on the Ravioli and the arugula salad which we ordered as an appetizer but was more like a side salad. The deserts ranged from very good to mediocre. The tiramuso was very good, the flourless chocolate cake was good but the portion was ridiculously small and the canolli was lackluster and served in a shell which seem not to be particularly fresh. For the price, I was disappointed and found nothing which matched my expectation based on the reviews I had seen. read more

We were excited to try the new Italian restaurant just a few miles from our home. Our daughter loves carpaccio, so seeing that on the menu told us it was the real deal! The menu is great, the food was great, authentic Italian, and the service was great! They are new so still getting some kinks out, but it was all worth the wait. Had a martini at the bar, and the bartender recommended the Ossobuco, so I went with that, excellent! My wife had the bolognese, my daughter had the linguini in white clam sauce, all excellent! I wasn't overly impressed with the food. I ordered the eggplant and I always feel like a good Italian restaurant cuts the skin off of the eggplant. They did not. I got the bruschetta for an appetizer. It comes with two pieces. One of them was burnt. I was surprised the kitchen let the piece of bread go out that black as it doesn't take long nor cost a lot to retoast. My husband got the lobster ravioli. Although he said it was good, he only got 6 small pieces. He was still pretty hungry after. I wish they offered the vodka sauce on a dish other than the lobster ravioli. read more

My rigatoni Norma was too al dente and too light on the eggplant. Service was excellent, ambiance very pleasant and various touches make this a go to restaurant. Example: the cannoli was filled just before serving so my wife didn't have a soggy shell. Presentation of the dishes were appetizing. You won't go wrong having dinner in this restaurant, it's a winner (except too much al dente). Had dinner here Friday night. Melissa was our waitress, it was very nice to have someone with a sense of humor and personality. She was attentive to our needs and made the experience 5 stars. We started with calamari which was served hot, golden brown and very good. our meals were veal parmigiana along with ravioli. Both meals were cooked to perfection. We both truly enjoyed the food. We were so happy to find Chef Dario had come to Englewood. We enjoyed his wine dinners at Rubbino Trattoria in Port Charlotte previously. We decided to celebrate our 44th anniversary at his new restaurant. We shared a tasty octopus appetizer. I had the delicious Osso Bucco for main. It even surpassed my own! His sauce was magnificent. We didn't have the pasta dishes, but we're going to try them next time. We shared a good dessert. The wine selections were good too! Definitely a best restaurant in Englewood! read more

It's a hard floor. I have to give them. The food was very tasty, not the way I'd make it, but that's okay. Swordfish was very thin sliced. You don't get a whole lot anymore but the price goes up. People don't mind paying more money but don't keep it on the quality. The quantity either octopus. You only get one technical now for $18 before covet you used to get three and the price went up. My only disappointment was the desserts. This place is horrible. Desserts. Two tiny little scoops of July gelato. I hate to compare place but up in Northport in Wayland Park. Vilani steak and seafood gives you a gigantic portion for the same price. The cannoli the cheese ran out of the cannoli. That's an abomination. There's no forgiveness for that. It's a cheese. Ain't thick enough. Don't serve it for Christ's sake, but as good as this food is, why would you serve cannolis that's running and two tiny little thin strips of strawberries. I guess they're on endangered list so this is the place to go to eat but do not order the desserts. You'll be disappointed at least with the gelato and the cannolis. Anyway I'm very honest and I call it the way I see it and that's the way I see it. Heart complain about the meal was it's very very tasty but I'm leaving hungry so I'm probably going to stop somewhere else.
