Took awhile but finally made it back and this time for food (and wine too of course). First off, loved the selection of bottles and Ian did an awesome job explaining all the specials on hand. There's also a nice selection of individual glasses which is what a few of us went with. We ordered oodles of tapas and ran up a good tab! I have to say, they're not cheap. Then again, when are tapas ever cheap? The good news is they were excellent...solid four stars. I was thankful for a couple of options for my gluten free and dairy free diet restrictions, and they were quite good, like the red snapper special (small piece of fish, not as "shareable" as the other dishes for $24). I even got some gluten free bread which was really nice to have and soak up all the yummy juice. The shrimp with saffron rice was also amazing! I would definitely return and maybe bring some out of town guests too, but due to the prices it's a once-in-while type place. We've eaten here several times. When we visit the area we can't wait to stop in to see the latest wine and food specials. We would say we are foodies and winos so really this should be the best of both worlds for us! We both quickly realized things had changed this time. The wine selection is still great. The food is good but lacks flavor. I think there is room to improve. We don't think it's beyond repair but you definitely need to know many dishes were underwhelming. The waitresses are definitely busy. I'm sure overworked. But they are short, curt, and down to business. And to save the best for last- if you not only buy your bottle (that you've already increased price on), your dinner which included multiple tapas, your dessert, and your coffee with you ....you should be waiving a corking fee out of respect. I don't care that it's only $10. It's the principle. We bought everything from you. We didn't bring our amazing bottle we had at home in for you to cork. We bought it from you. This left a bad taste (no pun intended) in our mouths. Kind of like when you visit wine county, aka Napa, they waive your tasting when you buy bottles. No difference. Treat your customers with respect. I can't say I had a bad experience. But I also can say I would rush back to some other great spots first. Very nice tapas and wine cafe on the hip and busy Dearborn Street area of Englewood. We were the only ones there when we walked in at noon on a Saturday in February, but they filled up fast. $5 Wine specials, and a Tapas menu with many options tO share. We had pate & Brie. The meatballs, and spicy shrimp. Plenty for 2 of us. Left there for under $69! We will certainly be back, may be a new favorite spot for us! read more

Impressive menu and cool vibe, but my family could not really experience it because we were seated for fourty minutes waiting to have our food orders taken while a couple seated well after we were seated had their orders taken. The waiter even asked them within earshot, before he took their order, if he should take our orders first since we were their first that we found extremely rude and tactless. We did get some drinks (a bottle of sangria that was poured over some fruit wedges and a glass of wine), but having waited for an unreasonable amount of time, I paid the full bill and we left. I wanted so much to support a local cool place, but was completely turned off by their horrible customer service. My two stars are solely for the cool vibe and menu. "So flavorful!" "So good" is what we said with every bite we took. When we got to the dessert round with the gluten free carrot cake and the warm chocolate chip cookie (that was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside) gelato sundae, we had no words. But what makes this place special is the people. The owners and the wait staff, who check in, chat and make you feel at home. We even saw them the next day at the Dearborn St. Market, and they came right up to say hi. Come for the food, stay for the people. We'll certainly be back this trip and many more! read more

This is one of our go to restaurants in the area. We had New Years Eve there, Sunday Brunch, Happy Hour, dinner there. We love it the small plates are great (I love the bean brochette). The only thing I don't recommend is dinner on Monday, it's lousy you have to wait till Tuesday. Alas they are closed on Monday. read more

We tried this gem of a spot after the farmers market on Thursday and were pleasantly surprised with the wine and food. Everything was great and would return. The only downside was when we were finishing our wine a couple came in and asked for a table. There were five open tables and they were asked to wait for us to leave right in front of us. Reserved 2 seats by phone for the wine tasting and tapas event. We were placed outside at a table with another couple for some unknown reason even though they had empty tables available. Also being outside it became unbearably hot and blinding when the sun was setting. On the phone I was told it would be inside. Food and wine were delicious however the portions were extremely small (smaller than normal tapas by far) and spaced too far apart. Since it was during the hours of 6-8:00, dinnertime, this was not enough food to suffice and their kitchen was not open to other orders because of the event. We stopped in on a whim and were completely and pleasantly surprised! The brunch choices were interesting and unique. It was so difficult to choose! I chose the mushroom and goat cheese omelette. I'm not a huge fan of goat cheese, but it worked so well in this dish. It was delicious! My husband is the finicky one, though he'd deny it. He ordered the Benedict of the day which featured a pork pate. He always orders bennies... he's never completely satisfied. This was the first time he was served a "perfect" benedict. And it was truly perfect! The pork was seasoned just right, the eggs...omg... unbelievable... and the lemony hollandaise is the best we've had. To top it off, our table was outside, in the shade.
