The furniture was pretty much something picked up from the side of the road and extremely worn and uncomfortable. The refrigerator had broken drawers and shelves. Our cabin was right next to the dumpster so our cabin smelled like garbage. The boat we rented was a rickety old fishing boat with an ancient motor. The life jackets were torn, dirty, and kept laying on the ground. There was one communal fire pit for seven cabins. There were no grills. Chautauqua Lake is beautiful and we went to a lot of area attractions. But we ended up leaving a day early because the cabin was so bad. We paid a good buck for the week and spent time looking up somewhere else to stay next year. We found several other options for similar price with much nicer amenities.

I would not recommend staying here. My husband and I stayed in the 101 Davis room. Pros: Extremely comfortable King size bed, Clean, non smoking, internet access, 2 soft bath robes provided, plenty of towels provided, owner was nice and accomodating given the situation. Cons: Everything was outdated and in need of an upgrade: cracked stained ceiling, old carpet, window air conditioning unit that sounded like it was going to take off. The private bathroom is across hallway- not connected to room and the window in bathroom did not open nor did it have an exhaust fan. The dorm fridge provided was hardly balancing on an old chair, not safe or stable at all. Lastly their breakfast was okay at best. I've had better breakfast at hotel chains that offer continental breakfast. All that was offered was scrambled eggs, sausage and some fruit. No homemade pastries,pancakes,potatoes, quiche or typical "Bed and Breakfast" food. No jelly or jam and the 4 slice toaster didn't cut it when you had a room full of people waiting to make toast. We were very disappointed, especially after reading the good reviews from others.

Beautiful setting, nice view of the lake with stairway down to the little private beach. The owner and staff could have not possibly been any nicer. The pool was spotless as were the surroundings. And pool was perfect temperature. Price is a little high but again everything was clean and comfortable and people were so nice. One thing that bothered us, and it is absolutely not the owners fault, is that people drive in off the street and sit in the chairs watching the sunset. We pulled in around 9 o'clock and there were 20 people there, after the sun went down at least 10 got into vehicles and drove away. I'm sure that we will be back to spend another weekend here

Joseph and Craig are wonderful accommodating hosts and their home is beautiful. I felt welcomed, cared for, and even included (which was an unexpected surprise). Some of the best moments from my trip were simply chatting with the hosts around the home or on the screened porch. As far as amenities, I do not know of another Lily Dale guest house that offers nearly as many. Beyond the air conditioning, my room had a mini-fridge with bottled water and coffee creamer, a Keurig coffee maker with mugs and fixings, and a flat-screen TV complete with Netflix access! The beds are the most comfortable in the Dale! If that's not amazing enough, Craig put fresh flowers on my nightstand when I arrived. I was also pleased to learn that some of the guest rooms will be upgraded with private bathrooms. If it's not obvious already, I know EXACTLY where I'll be staying during my visit next season. A Library in the Carriage house, with, thousands of books and other items. More than impressive. Not into walking in the cold or hot sun. They even have a fitness center on site in its own building. Exploring the home from the top to the bottom is a treat. Great bar area in the basement! A community with great dining, night life, museum and public library nearby. Beautiful out area with a enclosed Hot tub, and a lot of covered picnic areas. Just a neat place. Been there several times, even took over the entire land and home for a family reunion.
