TERRIBLE. I mean, really bad. Disgusting. Dark, dirty, Internet out for 24hours, awful service,…read morelack of staff, poor lighting, bad odors, coffee NEVER EVER hot, lobby floors / carpet regularly filthy, hair and blood on surfaces and so much more! Prior to 2022, I thought this hotel was the best in Erie. I'd stayed there 5 separate times during visits home in the last decade. Amazing employees. But now? The place has been ruined. I had a weeks reservation and left 2 days early, no refund. Every day was a struggle not to leave and just find a hotel on the under-construction Bayfront instead. Apparently SpringHill Suites was bought out and "renovated" back in 2022-2023 (you wouldn't know it to see the place). They removed the upgraded suites with Hot Tubs and made everything cookie cutter with dark floors, walls, and lighting. It's so dark you can barely see when away from the one single window. I'm not exaggerating. I can only imagine its to hide the filth because they've cut back on all cleaning/staffing. There is only 1 person on front-desk duty at a time and usually a long wait for anything. The Internet went out one day, all day (and night) - and there was no notice or explanation or communication that went out to guests. Many guests were understandably upset; staff did not care. Older guy with gray hair who on duty said he'd made the call to tech support and got a service ticket. I asked if he'd followed up for status - and his face showed the expression of a dumb*ss who'd never think to do such a thing. He really was the worst of them. A sorry sack of worthlessness and sorrow. If he didn't have such a bad attitude, I'd pity him. Bare minimum is the name of the game in this place. Lobby cleaned once a day in the morning, and not thoroughly. Always had to step over chunks of dirt, mud, grass etc. Didn't matter what time of day you'd try the coffee, it was NEVER hot. I experienced this EVERY FREAKIN' DAY. Then I'd ask the front desk for hot coffee and they'd grab a new dispenser from the supply room (a room from which a rotton odor would consistently waft out of). So why is it that staff can't just learn to replace the coffee regularly if it's ready in the back? Not hard to set a timer to put new coffee out every 3 hours or so. Same time every day. Bare minimum effort, that's why. No proactivity and no one cares. Poor manager was only hired 3 months prior they said. Likely a high turnover will continue for the foreseeable future. This place nearly ruined my trip. I didn't let it, but it was a struggle. AVOID this hotel at all costs to demonstrate that we won't just accept nastiness and slop. *NOTE: Upon my arrival, and seeing what the hotel had become and how DARK the rooms were, I tried to cancel the stay. The front desk clerk tried, but had to call the manager who wouldn't allow it because it was a "nonrefundable" reservation.*

This hotel was very nice, as Marriott Hotels always are. The lobby had a pretty Christmas tree…read more Staff were nice. However, some details were overlooked like a hair in the shower and the hair dryer bag being dirty, on arrival. Also, the TV remote needed new batteries. The shower had good water pressure and a rain shower head. The continental breakfast had a good selection of food, including a waffle iron (but it only went till 9:30am). The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The room included 2 beds, a sleeper sofa, a mini fridge, a microwave, two TV's, and a Bible (in the dresser). The TV had a good selection of channels (Hallmark, Freeform, GAF). I liked that there was an extra sink and mirror outside of the bathroom, which made it easier for everyone to get ready to leave in the morning. There was a pool on site but we didn't use it, due to it being a short stay. The elevator was poorly marked (on the 3rd floor), as in there was no overhead sign pointing it out from a distance.

It is a bit pricier than some other local hotels, but I think it's worth the extra cost. The staff is very helpful. This place has an amazing front desk and living area. There are multiple TVs, chairs you could come down to hang out in or do some work, and more. There is also a pool, fitness center, and meeting rooms. It's great for a business stay or if you want a nice hotel to stay at while vacationing at Splash Lagoon. Great rooms! Everything was clean, you have a coffee maker in each room, a mini fridge, TV, decent bathroom and shower, etc. Essentially all you'd want in a hotel room. Good modern feel to it, functioning heating system. The breakfast was fine. They had decent coffee, some pastries, muffins, waffles, cereal, and so on. There's space to eat downstairs or you can easily take your food upstairs (the elevator is right there). Also, free hot chocolate! All in all, great hotel. Friendly staff, clean, good location, decent price. I'd recommend if you want a business-oriented hotel or just a slightly more upscale hotel for staying at Splash Lagoon.

I was looking to book a single room and when I made the request, she laughed at me, continued talking to her coworker, and then asked me to repeat. After I repeated, she found a room and immediately asked for my card without clarifying the dates, the type of room, or the rate. I had to spell out every detail for her to properly inform me. Then after I gave her my card, she immediately said bye to hang up until I barely caught her to ask her to send a confirmation email - how else am I supposed to get the details?! She then rudely asked for my email and then immediately said bye to hang up. She is extremely unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. This establishment needs to retrain all their employees and make sure no other customer feels this way. Her manners made me cancel my reservation - I refuse to stay at a place who tolerates this behavior

On the negative side, I wasn't a huge fan of the parking offered and the layout of this parking (the parking lot could've also been better lit as well). The lighting inside was much better, though the lobby was a bit compact and was a bit minimalist compared to some other locations I've seen. The rooms were of a good size and comfortable, with a nice earthy color scheme, modern looking furniture, and comfortable bed. Overall, the room and bathroom were neat and clean. Wifi Internet was fast and reliable. Although the hotel overall isn't super impressive, a bump is given for the quality and selection offered at the free breakfast. This was in a nicely decorated room with many different food stations and staff that worked hard to keep all the items continually stocked. This was particularly impressive as the breakfast included a pancake machine, Greek yogurt, hot foods, several types of pastries, fruit juices, several coffee/tea selections, fresh fruit, and pastry. Given the completeness of these breakfast options and overall good quality of the offerings, you easily save on the cost of going out for breakfast by staying here. Overall, if I'm in the area again, I would stay here for the good rate and very complete breakfast. The small things that bothered me were not significant enough to detract significantly from my experience here.

The AC sometimes sounds like a vacuum cleaner, sometimes like a blender. The elevator jolts when you step into it, then shakes and moans as it climbs. It seems like they would rather be elsewhere, and wish that you would be elsewhere too.

How much worse can it be? Glad you asked, the second floor doesn't have ac in the hallways. We are booked for 4 nights after having our Airbnb cancelled for an event. What a disappointment. That is about where the positives end. We booked this hotel as part of a package through Splash Lagoon. I wish we would have paid the about $50 more to stay at one of the other connected hotels. When we went to check in, the clerk basically couldn't be bothered to be there. They were borderline rude and couldn't answer a basic question we had. When we got to our room, all but one of the lights were burnt our or didn't work. When we called to mention it, the clerk said something along the lines of "what do you want me to do about it" Then said "I suppose we could move you to a different room since I don't know if we have someone that can look at the lights" The new room was better, but definitely well worn and dated. The walls are also very thin. You could hear conversations and the TV from the rooms nearby and could hear anytime someone walked down the hallway. It is a fairly long walk to the waterpark, but it is nice to not have to worry about going outside to get in to the park. I will say breakfast in the morning was actually decent. The breakfast workers were all very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast area was clean and replenished. It was a warm, mostly clean place to sleep with a fairly decent breakfast, but I would never stay here again.
