I visited the Aqua Day Spa for the first time recently for a Signature Transformation Treatment Facial. It was fantastic! Saying that it was relaxing is an understatement. My face was treated to several different cleaning and exfoliating regiments followed by an extraction process. When I walked out, my skin was absolutely glowing! I would definitely return. 3 stars given: I was able to book 2 1 hour massage appointments the day before so that was awesome. They are located in the mall area. There is a gift shop as you walk in but We were taken back right away. The locker/ shower area was very nice and clean. There is everything you need there if youre not going straight home afterwards. You may want to bring your own flip flops as the ones provided are not comfortable. Theyre made out of a hard plastic. I didnt utilize the shower but my husband did and he loved it. He even bought the shower products before we left. The relaxation/ waiting room was nice and cozy. Water, snacks, magazines and several lounge chairs are in the lamp lit room. A few employees would enter the room periodically calling out names and asking what time their service is for, etc so it was hard to relax though. 2 stars deducted: My massage was one of the worst Ive ever had. We discussed focusing on certain areas before it started and was given ample time to disrobe,etc. This is when I noticed the loud conversations in the next room. After about 30 min, I asked if we were next to a break room and to my surprise he said no that it was another massage room. I could have sworn it was at least 3 people talking. He turned the fan louder which helped drown out the noise. We had discussed focusing on my lower back, shoulders and head. Well the hour was over and my head was never touched. He did something on my upper arm that twisted and pinched my skin which was extremely painful. I take hot baths where my skin is red when Im done and I could barely stand the hot towels he wrapped my feet in, it was sooo HOT. When it was time for my back, he used a faint touch that I could barely feel. Im not into deep tissue which is why I chose swedish but this entire massage was useless. I couldnt believe my head wasnt touched which is my favorite part of a massage and it was only 1 of the 3 regions I specified in the beginning. When it was time to pay, the girls in the front (gift shop area) were not really friendly and didnt even tell us bye or thank you even though we just paid $220 + $30 products for our hour visit. Unbelievably great experience! The spa is beautiful with tons of great products. Most have testers, which I was happily surprised with having more expensive products. They checked my temperature and had a mask for me but I brought my own. I booked a 60 minute relaxation massage with Alisha and she was wonderful. I appreciate when therapists don't feel the need to carry on conversations bc Im already an awkward person when I'm not naked under a blanket. Alisha only checked in on pressure and making sure I was comfortable. I can't say enough great things about her especially her technique and ability to help me relax. Usually in places this ritzy, I feel out of place but every single person I encountered was so polite and helpful. I will definitely be back every time I'm in town! read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had, I bought my mom the all inclusive package for Mother's Day that included a 60 minute massage, a facial, a manicure and pedicure. The masseuse was nice, the woman who did the facial was amazing and that is where the pleasantries end. The first person lied to my mom and said the pedicures were not included in the package which it was, but then when she arrived they said it was included but she would have to schedule for a different day due to time constraints which was fine I guess . However when she came back to get the pedi the nail tech was beyond rude and dismissive. She did not want to do my mom's feet but begrudgingly and with attitude agreed to do it. However once my mom picked a color she claimed my mom's foot had the potential to have a fungus and she would need a doctors note in order for her to do it. However my mom has gone to countless spa and nails Salons and has never had an issue getting her feet done. This lady and was outright rude, a liar, and lazy! I would never encourage anyone to go to this spa unless they want to be insulted and embarrassed. read more

We had a very disappointing experience today. I booked a party for 6 girls for a bachelorette party and confirmed all details 2 days before. We arrived and they had cancelled my massage, unfortunately they had booked out my spot and had no other time to offer. The response from management was an apology and they offered to let me do a pedicure instead. I felt like that was an adequate substitute however they never gave me the pedicure! In the end they waived the cost of my manicure but it was extremely disappointing to coordinate a party, pay for the Bride and not be able to participate because the staff took me off the schedule. Our nail techs seemed rushed and not happy to be there. There was so much staff but no one could seem to help you and it was so disorganized. I would not normally write a review for a simple mistake but another girl in our group also had her appt removed and they threatened to charge her a cancellation fee until she escalated it to the manager. Do. Not. Get. Waxed. Here. I regularly get a Brazilian wax and was in town on business. I stopped by Aqua and when she asked if the wax was hot and I said yes (probably 10 degrees too hot), she kept going. I was more uncomfortable than I've ever been after getting a wax including a burning feeling when I got back to my hotel. It's been 5 hours now and I realized a few minutes ago that she ripped off the top, protective layer of my skin. Sorry to be disgusting but my Bikini area is peeling off skin and I have second degree burns. I will be placing a full fledged complaint tomorrow. Don't go here. Their nail bar has a bad reputation. I found out the hard way! All I wanted was gel removal and buff. The manicurist rushed the chemical removal and forced the gel off with a metal device. She was finished with two words spoken to me within 15 minutes. As my nails were so messed-up and lifting off the nail bed and friends would ask, I shared the problem. 9 out of 10 of them said they could have told me not to use them, and that Aqua the Day Spa nail bar had a terrible reputation. Booked an hour massage about a week before my appointment. It was mother's day weekend so naturally it was extremely busy. My friend had a facial during my massage. The ladies locker room, showers and waiting room are very nice. The massage table and room were not as impressive. The table was old and not electric. The masseuse was friendly, she asked where she should focus, but she didn't ask about pressure. She talked quite a bit during the massage. I was there for relaxation, so it was a bit annoying. She asked about scars on my legs which made me a bit uncomfortable. The lotion nor the room were scented. Generally lavender or eucalyptus is appropriate for relaxation. Overall, the massage was good. I had to remind her of the pressure multiple times though. The front desk staff were not very welcoming or appreciative upon checkout. read more

Exceptional spa with the best aesthetician in Jackson. Paige has been caring for my skin and lashes for 6 years and she is beyond amazing. She is careful and precise and takes tremendous pride in her work. I am so grateful for the owner and employees of this Spa, as they always give me five star treatment whether I'm calling to book an appointment or picking up a last minute gift. Which leads me to mention that this is the BEST spot to pickup gifts from candles, to jewelry, to loungewear, they always have an incredible selection of gifts I can't find anywhere else. It was my first time last Wednesday, very pretty atmosphere! I purchased the rejuvenate package and it was the best package for the best price. I started with my facial and the girl was like my bestfriend and she did an amazing job on my face! Then my massage was next, it felt very good that I fell asleep...LOL! Last but not least was my Mani/Pedi, very comfortable but my nails did already start chipping the next day. One last thing I wish with the regular polish there were a lot more colorful option available rather than paying $20 extra for shellac that offers a lot more brighter colors. Walked in a few weeks ago to look for Christmas gifts in the front of the store, and I wasn't verbally or visually acknowledged at all by the women at the front desk. Granted, I knew I wasn't going to be purchasing $500 worth of products, but a friendly hello would have been sufficient. I left after ten minutes of browsing because it was so awkward. Naturally, I didn't receive any cursory "thank you's" from the workers, either. Such a shame, as I have known the owner and her family for years, and she would have been appalled at such behavior. But I can't say I'm shocked -- it's just another print in the pattern of snooty retail workers at high-end stores in Jackson, a phenomena that is shockingly common. I'm not disparaging the store itself at all -- just the people in it. I hope someone in a managerial position reads this and makes a note of it. It's terribly foolish for a retail worker to put on airs when one's income is dependent on the everyday people that walk through the front door of the store. read more

This was my first experience at this spa (and probably my last). I was eager to try them excited about my 60 minute massage. The massage therapist was quiet which was the best part of the entire experience (I don't prefer small talk when I am trying to relax and such) but other than her being quiet, she was not the right "fit" for the massage I needed. Once she started, it was more like "relaxation rubbing" it was doing NOTHING for my tensed and knotted muscles! After a while I did ask her to make it FIRM and she said okay. But it was still not nearly firm. I was so upset the entire experience...just lying there having my body rubbed (I could have had my 7 year old do that at home)! It was Not a "fantastic first" for me to say the Least! Back to Massage Envy, I go! Oh yeah, (I almost forgot), on top of that customer service was nearly dead. Upon my arrival, they did greet me. But when I came from the back, getting ready to pay for services, the receptionist just said "Will you like to make future appointment..and Waht will be your method of payment?" Simply put, I love this place. Even on a busy day, the front desk was extremely accommodating and was able to fit me in for a massage. I've had uncomfortable experiences at other facilities in the past, so Aqua was a big sigh of relief. The whole experience was stress free and relaxing, as a massage should be. I was extremely disappointed that the one hour I would have alone all day in a great massage was not going to take place. I will never go to this spa again and do not recommend to anyone. I was booked for a 90 minute prenatal massage (originally okay'd by the manager) for my birthday. When I asked for a 90 minute they stated they have done it in the past but were currently only offering 60 minute but stated the manager was fine with increasing my appointment since they have done it in the past. I am 25 weeks and have been getting professional prenatal massages ranging from 60-90 minutes starting in my second trimester. I received a phone call the day before my appointment from the spa stating they can't accommodate a 90 minute prenatal per the owner because she does not feel comfortable of the "risks involved" and the woman on the phone mentioned something about speaking to the "state board of massage therapy". I am a healthcare professional and this is absurd to me. There are no known risks involved in a 60 minute vs 90 minute prenatal massage as long as the LMT is certified in prenatal and the fact that she just "does not feel comfortable" is discrimination by the owner. Multiple other spas offer 80-90 minute prenatal massages in the state. In addition, I called and spoke with the MS State Board of Massage Therapy and they were adamant they would never give anyone this information. Also, staff were very rude on the phone as well as a previous encounter I had at the spa 2 weeks ago but was willing to give them a second chance. After this incident with the owner, I will never return and make sure to tell everyone I know not to go here. read more

The front desk ladies were snooty, but the ladies in the spa were very sweet and funny. I got a french pedicure and my toes look so pretty! ^_^ The atmosphere was relaxing and I didnt feel rushed to leave after my pedicure. I asked if I could get a manicure too, but they were booked. I ended up hanging out in the waiting room, which is called the "relaxation room." It has low lighting and comfortable chairs with throws. I am planning on booking a manicure asap. read more

When you arrive, the ladies at the front desk check you in and take you to change into a comfy robe and then to the relaxation room to wait for your masseuse. They provide some cucumber water, tea, coffee, and pretzels. I enjoyed a 60 minute Relaxenergy Body Massage by Ashley. She did an awesome job! I will definitely be going back to her. Once I was done, Ashley brought me some more of the cucumber water and led me to the showers. Their showers are stocked with great products. I chose the Moroccan brand products. I was so disappointed! I got a gift card and decided to use it in the nail salon. I expected a spa like atmosphere, maybe some aroma therapy in the water, just a more fancy, spa experience. I received a very ordinary, nothing special experience that I could get anywhere. My total was almost $300 for 3 people and the price was outrageous for the service offered. Wow. I wish I could have experienced any one of the things mentioned in the positive reviews. My experience was poor service quality, poor booking experience and poor customer relations. I inquired about mani/pedi and they pushed a facial combo appt on me. Then asked for gel and got regular mani/pedi. Facial was worst I've ever had with zero explanation of products or service. This appt was not for sheer pleasure, it was proceeding the death of immediate family and preparation for funeral. I asked for lip wax and they could not do that. (Because wasn't booked) and yet there were employees sitting around doing nothing. Lip wax takes 3-5 minutes. I paid $205 for the inferior service of regular mani/pedi & facial. Never again. I have received much better quality at much lower prices elsewhere. The facility is nice- I wish this hadn't been my experience. I had such greater expectations. read more

It's hard to rate Aqua as I've had numerous positive & several negative experiences. I've had the best bikini waxes & eyebrow waxes I've ever gotten but also some of the worst. So there's not good consistency which I expect for the prices I'm paying. Last time I got an eyebrow wax, the esthetician dripped a lot of wax in my hair which I expect not to happen if I'm paying $25 for the service & didn't ask if I was satisfied/show me the finished product in a mirror. However, after getting home & seeing my eyebrows in the mirror, she did an excellent job of shaping them & cleaning up stray hairs. So... there's a lot to be desired especially for a spa & the prices they're charging. read more

My experience was different than other reviews. The ladies at the front were very professional and courtesy. Past the front lobby was less than mediocre. The locker room has only one changing area, which caused for waiting. The sauna was out of order. The massage room was cold and had a fan running. The massage was supposed to be a deep tissue, but was performed like a traditional massage. The massage was for one hour and I was directed back to the locker room for a shower within 45 minutes. After showering off I had an appointment for a pedicure and manicure. Unclear where to go between the shower and pedi, I stood in the hall for 15 mins. waiting for a staff member before finally making my way to the pedi room and sitting on a bench. Ignored by staff, i was finally helped by an esthetician. The estheticians in the pedi room were loud, looking/talking about facebook, ex- husbands/boyfriends. With five staff members and three clients including myself. One client was waiting for her pedi that was to be immediately following her mani. However, the three unoccupied estheticians were too busy congregating amongst each other to help the poor girl whose rehearsal dinner was in two hours. My pedi was performed with cheap tools and was the worst pedicure I have ever received. I have only had one manicure in my life, so I don't have much to compare, but the one I received was not worth the cost. The polish was slapped on and has gaps on the side of my fingers nail. After all of this... A lady came in for a last minute pedicure and the esthetician (1st desk as you walk in the room) was very cold and rude to her. The client asked to wash her hands after nails were filed. As the client walked to the sink the esthetician locked eyes with my esthetician and made less than respectful facial gestures then chuckled. Talk about feeling uncomfortable! Not to mention the staff did not have a professional appearance. If I didn't have a gift certificate to be used I would never go back.
