Love my hair, I am very picky with who does my hair and Rosa exceeded my expectations. Usually I get my hair done it takes forever, but she was able to be very thorough and made sure my haircut is exactly how I want it and the end style in great timing. The salon experience was amazing very attentive. The fact it was pouring they made sure I got to my car without getting soaked by having a helper with a large umbrella. I purchased a Groupon for $36.50 but ended up leaving the salon spending $70 total ($33.50 extra because of the "type of hair" I have) for a hair cut, conditioning and blow dry. I have shorthair, (tad below my shoulders, normal thickness) and at the end of the service, once I was done and about to leave, she said it was extra and apologized for not telling me earlier. After leaving the salon and reading the reviews, the owner does this often. The service was great. They give you a hand massage during your hair cut and the workers are friendly and sweet. The reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is because the intention of getting a Groupon is to get a deal. Charging extra to make up the difference for offering a Groupon seems shady to me. I've been to this salon before to have my hair done and was very pleased. This salon is warm and welcoming, unlike some of the other spots in the area and they do great work. My boyfriend knew my feelings about this salon and set up an appointment for me to have a spa mani and pedi here for my birthday. (That was earlier this month) I was pleasantly surprised because I'd never had any nail services done here. The day of my appointment, I walked into the salon and was immediately treated like family by the ENTIRE staff. Dehlia is Aquarelle's nail tech and she is outstanding. She is quiet as she works and is focused and meticulous. Her work is excellent! I almost always get anxious and start squirming when anyone touches my feet but Dehlia is gentle and relaxing and takes her time to make sure your services are done right. This visit was several of the most relaxed hours of my entire adult life-- no exaggerations. They do a few cute extras if they know it's your birthday. I won't ruin that for anyone Needless to say, I decided to go back for a gel manicure today and I was thrilled with the results. Dehlia helped pick the color and it is a gorgeous pale peach that is very work appropriate and beautiful with my skin tone. As an aside, the price is no different than I'd be paying elsewhere. This salon is my new go to! It is clean and well lit and has a very nice ambience to it. Elida styled and cut my hair and she did such an amazing job! I told her what I wanted and she executed it very well. Everyone at the salon was very friendly. Elida also offered me tea or water which I thought was so sweet of her. They had contacted me to solve this issue a while back but required me to visit them. I live in the Bronx by Westchester. Over 2 hours to get to Queens. NOPE! Original post: I had an appointment and came on time. 2 hours before closing so I knew to be patient. I was skipped by 2 other people because they had known the stylist. My hair was great, I had a blowout and deep conditioning done, but it took 3 stylist to take turns with me to finish it. I came in here with no appointment and they took me in immediately. The front desk receptionist was very sweet and took my coat then led me to get my hair washed. After my wash, I was led by Elida who cut and blow dried my hair. Elida was excellent. She is very professional, sweet and a great conversationalist. While I was getting my hair dried, I got a hand massage by one of the employees there. I forgot her name, but it was very nice and unexpected. I think they only do this for first time customers. Worst haircut of my life!!! I am confused about the good reviews here. I went here a while back for a trim and some layers. The lady (the one with the blonde hair, i think she is the owner) who cut my hair gave me a very strange haircut and did the opposite of what i said i wanted. I do not think she knew how to cut my hair type which is very curly and thick. She basically gave me a mullet, cutting a lot of super shorter layers on the top and leaving the bottom longer. I never told her i wanted short layers, as they make my hair puffy, I wanted them on the longer side. Well she gave me a lot of short layers, some above my ear!!! She also thinned out some of the top of my hair in which i never asked for and some other areas of my hair which ruined my curl pattern. Now i have short and long pieces everywhere in my hair! Why do some stylists think its a great idea to thin out thick hair?? My hair still looks like an absolute mess even though it been nearly a year since the cut! its going to take a another year to grow out this awful haircut., Unless you want to look like you came of the 80's or risk a possible botched cut that will take years to grow out, i suggest you do not come here read more

I came across this salon on Google after not being able to get an appointment for the place I usually go to. Everything really does happen for a reason because after my experience here, I don't think I'll be going back to my usual place! Rosa and the receptionist welcomed me and were very pleasant and friendly. I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and they took me in right away. Jenny was my stylist and she's honestly the best stylist I've ever encountered. I have curly hair, I'm very "tender headed", my hair falls out easily, and my ends are always dry because I rarely get hair cuts so I'm sure I'm not the easiest client. I went in for a hair cut and blow dry for my engagement shoot, and she did it all without burning my ears or scalp which is what tends to happen at other places. I was outside for the remainder of the day for the photo shoot and when I got home, my hair was as straight as when I left the salon. I've been looking for places to do my hair for my wedding for months but I think I've found the place and would definitely recommend them to anyone who has hard to manage curly hair like mine. read more

I needed my hair done for a wedding I was going to, I called the salon and Rosa used her Magic to get me in. After appt set, I had a work conflict so I had to move my hair appt and they were so understanding and with my short time limitations they fit me in which I was extremely grateful! When I arrived, I was greeted instantly and asked if I wanted anything to drink. Didn't wait long cause I was one of the first one there. Rosa came in later and acknowledge me by name which was really sweet. The customer service was on point!!! Elida was my hair stylist she was so nice! Every time she had to step away she apologize. She cut my hair shorter then I wanted but after seeing the finishing product I loved it! I love the cut and style. I got a nice hand massage for free which was a great bonus. They didn't do the deep conditioning of my hair which I asked for, Rosa apologize and said cause I was in a rush they wanted to respect my time which I appreciate but they could have done it so I have to go back. They charge extra for hair types which I understand but $20 is a lot especially I cut my hair shorter and my hair is thin (they did say this up front on the phone). They are bit on the expensive side but I would pay extra for great customer service and a stylist that listens to your needs. Overall I'm satisfy and will go back! My regular hair stylist moved to Florida and I have been searching high and low to find someone who can cut my hair as she did. I haven't had much luck, Until today. I'm FINALLY 100% satisfied with my cut. I can't express enough how satisfied I am. The ladies in the salon was very professional and very kind. They listen to me and gave me exactly what I asked for. I came across Aquarelle while walking around in Kew Gardens and selected them based on their reviews. ( There are 3 more similar salons within a few blocks.) As a brand new customer with much needed hair care I was happy to come across Rosa who carefully explained the process of taking care of my hair ( low lights, base color, cut ) from color testing to the final shades. Although we still have a long way to go to reach my color goals, I was very happy with the result. My shoulder length hair feels soft, hydrated and the cut does support the carefully placed low lights. As for price point , a bit higher than anticipated but quite similar to the nearby salons. I believe at this time all salons charging a bit more to catch up with the losses. All well, I understand. First of all i have not been to a salon in a while because the recent places i've been to i left disappointed. So when my girlfriend recommended Aquarelle i decided to try it for myself. I've tried other salons in the area (Posh, Giorgio's) but was never impressed by them. I made an appointment and went for the first time last week for a blowout for a wedding reception that evening. I couldn't be happier that i chose Aquarelle. The receptionist is very friendly and I was lucky to have Rosa blow and style my hair. I showed her a pic of the dress and she knew exactly the type of style i needed. My hair is fine and usually pretty limp by the end of the night but Rosa knew how to style and curl and volumnize my hair and in the end i was very happy. For the first time in a long time i was happy with a blowout. I was so happy that i came back today one week later for another wash and blow. Same as last week the staff was friendly, pleasant and professional. The salon is clean and has good lighting and street parking is easy to find. What an awesome experience. My hair and makeup came out great during a trial and I booked them for my special event. Staff is super friendly, they made me feel like royalty. I had my makeup done first and As she was applying my makeup she gave me a mirror to see if what she did so far was ok, this way of anything needed to be changed she had the opportunity, so unlike the last makeup artist I went to, who btw made me look unrecognizable. My makeup came out great, perfect for a special event but not overwhelming. Next was my hair done by super talented Rosa, her hands are gold. I decided to venture out today to get a manicure and pedicure. I decided to come to Aquarelle and immediately was greeted and asked what I would like to do. Everyone from start to finish was extremely courteous and made sure I was comfortable. Even though I only got a basic mani/pedi done, I felt like it was comparable to a basic spa mani/pedi at any other place, so I can only imagine how amazing a true spa mani/pedi would be. She washed my hair and blew it out. Her technique is honestly amazing coming from a girl who has THICK CURLY HAIR. I went to Aquarelle Salon in March 2021 on the recommendation of a friend; Im so glad I took her advice! I had my hair colored, highlighted, cut and blown out by Rosa and she was absolutely amazing and professional. Beena did an amazing job on my hair. Came in with a groupon for a cut, color, and deep conditioning, but not really sure what color I wanted. She helped me pick a color that I was comfortable with and suited my skin tone, and confirmed multiple times. I especially liked that she was very straightforward with my options and pricing throughout the whole process, including the reservation. Roza does the best blow dry. I have curly frizzy hair and she is so far the only hairdresser that is able to blow dry it straight and bouncy in the bottom and it easily can last me a week. She is good at colors also. My next try is highlights. She is a professional at what she does ad treats her customers right. Friendly staff. The only tiny issue I have is that sometimes it just takes to long and believe she needs to work on that part of managing things timely. I know she wants to give attention to her costumers but sometimes it affects it especially if you in a bit of a rush. Will definitely keep coming back. I cant even begin to say how thankful I am for Rosa's blessed hands. Aquarelle sent me an email confirmation the day of my appointment. I arrive about 15 minutes early. Rosa introduced herself and asked me what I was looking for. I browsed through some books and showed her what I was looking for. She immediately had someone wash and deep condition my hair. Then she got started with her scissors! I'm very picky when it comes to my hair, I really don't like new people touching my hair. But Rosa kept the line of communication open. She asked me continuously what I wanted. After my hair cut, she blow dried my hair and even gave me a little curl at the end. It was close to closing time, but she didn't rush.
