I needed deck repairs and after several disappointing discussions with well known big name contractors/companies who decided I would be best if they tore it down and built a new more modern deck at a price I couldn't afford. But then I heard about Ground Breaking Homee Remodeling LLC, who responded to my call immediately and came within a couple of days to see what I wanted done. Without discussing other companies or costs, he first started telling me what he would recommend, which would be cost effective but at the same time, repair, modernize and improve the look. I liked what he recommended but he in no way pushes his ideas on the customer unless he feels it is best for safety, longevity, etc. He listens to his customers and he truly wants to please them with the job he and his staff provide. I was so pleased that I asked him about other home repairs and projects which he provided estimates for and I moved forward with those as well. I intend to hired Mr. Jerome McCoy and his staff to do more projects on my home for the following reasons......to name just a few: He is honest; If he says what he can do, he means it - he can really do them (not like contractors who say they can but then have to look it up on the phone to find out how to do the job), he is very particular with the outcome of the project, he is very knowledgeable, will provide estimates (again which some say they will do but don't) he arrives when he says he will, and he is very professional and very pleasant to deal with. I rank this businessman and his company with all the stars available. Give him a chance at what your home needs; I think you might become a regular customer as well. We had a need for the project to be completed in a very short window (less than 6 weeks) from the day of the quote. The owner said they could make it happen. Other places we contacted couldn't even start within 6 weeks, let along finish. The work crew was amazing and efficient. Instead asked some questions and ran with part of my answer and just gave us a quote for that project instead of the one we described. He wanted to do a bigger project, so asked questions to that end because apparently fixing my small deck wasn't worth it for them. I don't know if his pricing was fair because the other company came out and actually listened to what we wanted and then gave us an estimate for exactly what we wanted. I asked if the wood on our deck could be saved. Immediate no (even though he said current store wood is worse quality than when this deck was built as a means to emphasize the benefits of composite at an earlier point in the convo). Made me feel guilty for being honest that we would be getting a couple of bids to compare. I was being honest to say that we were trying to do due diligence. His attitude changed and he emphasized at multiple points after that the free work he was doing by giving me an estimate. Their business model is to come into your home and provide pictures and product samples and then write up the quote then and there. I just wanted a guy to come out, look, and email me the quote. Instead it was a lengthy process . Seemed like an old-style sales approach. Also, they wanted both owners to be home and he seemed annoyed that it was just me...but we literally just wanted a quote, so no my spouse was not going to take off work for an estimate. Overall just weird energy and a strange experience! And I've had plenty of bids/estimates for projects around the house including, house painting, fence installation, deck repair, etc. Tl;dr - didn't listen to what we wanted. Up-sold. The Solid Ground team was very knowledgeable and helped us consider many design aspects we didn't know or didn't know enough about which ended up making a better finished result. The teams specific attention to detail during our consult and during construction helped us create a unique design that made the transition from the inside our home to the outside seamless. Okay WOW. I usually…read moredon't review contractor services because I always forget, but I had to make a conscious effort to review these guys because I'm blown away. First of all, their communication is so easy and quick. I texted with them through the whole process, and they were SO helpful. Second, their timing. They do quotes with aerial view, so you get the quote SO quick, and then on their calendar almost just as quick! Between reaching out and the job being complete, it was like a week. I was amazed. Their prices were spot on, and actually a slightly better deal for the quality, than most of the other companies I was working with. Lastly, they didn't require a deposit, which isn't a deal breaker for me BUT a lot of other companies requires 50% down just to schedule and it felt so sketchy. I'm not sure why they're not rated the best company in the area, my experience with them was flawless. 10000000% recommend.
