This is the first time I've ever purchased carpet so I'm trying to learn about all the costs and everything and explained this to him. I mentioned how Lowe's (in-store) had told me to estimate 20% overage due to the 12ft wide carpet not being as wide as the room, but his employee told me that they don't do that here - the square footage is the square footage. The carpet was listed in the store at $3.49 sq/ft which included an integrated pad. Installation for normal carpets with separate pads was around $1.60, so the integrated pad I would have thought would have been cheaper. Yet our estimated price was over $6.50. I was just calling to ask how we got to that number based on what I'd learned and what I'd been told by his own employee. He literally had no explanation on how he arrived at the final number, except to say "the initial budget I was given was X and we are within that." All I wanted was an understanding and education on how purchasing carpet works.

As a woman and trying to handle the situation, because of Jim's heart attack, has not gone very well. I have been talked to like I was stupid, huge mistake by them and then laughed in my face by the Vice President of the company Steve. They are not sure, but believe that the windows are missing felt. I was told that it would take 2 weeks to get felt stripping in. I did tell him that I could get it quicker from Amazon, he laughed in my face and told me atinotes were not going to get me any where. Well, I can tell you this, they may not, but this story can. Like Jimmy said, he thinks he is not expendable and news flash you are. The big box stores eating at your door step and this how you treat people???? How many more Lowes and Menerards until you are gone?? Try and help the little guy out and this is how you get treated. This is only half of how we have been treated. I can only imagine how the women employees are treated in the store. OH, and YES that is ICE, on the inside of my windows!!! The "felt" was finally delivered, only to be some kind of plastic stripping. Has anyone called about installing it???? Nope!! So, when purchasing windows be very careful. You might pickup on some negative vibes from some workers but not all. Push through it. It's a tough job especially in extreme temps. Their weigh system is good and checkout is pretty fast. I'd recommend them. Counter people are nice.
