He provided a cart to put our alcohol in and transport it down the dock. Our 3 friends were running late, so the crew picked them up on a tender and brought them to the boat when they arrived. Very nice of them! Drew, Casey and the rest of the crew were very friendly and didn't mind our groups choice in music (ha). We ran out of alcohol half way through our 4 hour timeframe, so the crew actually offered to run to shore and purchase more for us and we could pay them back. They were truly lifesavers!! The tiki hut is sooo much fun and the big float was great. I recommend for sure!!!

I have left voicemails and texted with no reply. I saw they have an active Instagram account that they have posted pics on all week. So I posted my request on there (see pic). Instead of reaching out to me to help me schedule, they deleted my comment. Not professional at all and not good for business. If you donate a good or service for a silent auction for charity, please know that the bidder may pay full or more than face value for the item as I did. While I love giving money to charity, I was also incentivized by the opportunity to fly board for the first time. I could certainly book a session online with a credit card but there is no mechanism for this company to follow through on providing a donated service. And I don't have the time to keep calling and leaving voicemails. I am sure this was a tax write off for this company so I will be sure to report this back to the charity. Very disappointed and I truly hope this company is not doing this on a routine basis.

We had a small event on the Carolina Girl and overall it was pretty good. It's truly a unique…read morevenue for special events, sailing around Charleston harbor with ever-changing scenery. The boat has two main decks, one inside with air conditioning or heat and windows along both sides, and an upper deck that's open air with a canopy. There's also a very small room on the lowest level they call the Key West room that can be used for some things but is generally not available for most guests. The boat has two bathrooms at the back on the middle level. Overall the boat was clean and didn't rock much in the calmer inshore waters of Charleston harbor. I will say their contract is very rigid, giving almost no rights to the customer; everything in it favors the Carolina Girl, even if things don't go as planned and it's their fault or the boat breaks down. Make sure you review the bill carefully because they claim they don't provide refunds for overpayments, but they do have a mandatory tip which they ask you to pay before the event even happens. The captain was supposed to call out sights along our route (he changed the route without telling us) but he never did. He also cut our route short to make sure we returned to the dock on time, only to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early. The owner's wife, Courtney, was helpful in the beginning to get everything rolling. Our coordinator, Camille, was very strict and at times not accommodating, but was quite professional. Kayla was super friendly and helpful on the boat during our event. But be warned they can be very strict on catering, food options, use of their kitchen, music, glass on board, bringing your own drinks, location of the dinning tables and more.

The staff was super nice and announced the safety rules before the ceremony and from there everything was great. There was a bartender on the main and upper levels and there were several areas for seating and moving around comfortably even with so many people aboard. The food was set up buffet style and had something for everyone, chicken, eggplant parm, rice, greens, salad, etc. The lower deck was super comfortable with larger tables and nice and cool temperatures. Everything was really nice and organized and I believe that we were out on the water for about 2 hours. This was a great experience and of course very different from traditional weddings.

We departed at 7pm and Kevin let us know our first meal would be arriving around 7:30 so we had time to go up to the observation deck. It was very windy but it was still cool to see us leave port and go out to the Charleston Harbor which was nice. There's a covered area in the back and then it's open at the front and that was definitely windy. The meals were so good, we honestly said the food was probably the best food we had on our whole trip! It started off with a she crab soup which was yummy. Second meal was a salad with sweet salad dressing that was also great. Third meal you got to pick your entree, I did the braised short rib that came with mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband did the grilled salmon with same sides. Both were absolutely delicious. I could've eaten it all but wanted to save room for dessert. I did the chocolate torte and my husband did the cheesecake, again so delicious. We also added the bubbly package which was an extra $35 but since it was a special occasion it was worth it. We were a party of 22 & for this size group everything went off without a glitch, there were 3 tables set up for us. Our server Barbara was so nice and hospitable and very welcoming and knowledgeable. She explained how this would go. 7:15 we will serve the bread, at 7:30 they will serve the first course a She-crab soup, ohh so good with a kick of cayenne delicious, oh by the way Barbara asked our table "who would like more soup we all said yes except wifey she's watching her salt intake and weight. next 2nd course cranberry almond kale Prosecco vinaigrette excellent, also saw into kitchen how each salad was prepped and dressed. Then we were told after the 2nd course there would be a 15-20 minute break for us to go take in the view and atmosphere of our sailing. Then we all received our entrees. My wife had the Braised Beef Short-ribs served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The beef was so tender if there was a bone it would have fallen off of it. I couldn't come to Charleston and not try the shrimp and grits which had andouille sausage and country ham. If you don't like spicy do not order this.. fortunately I Love spicy. Delicious is all I can say. Dessert is not included however you can purchase a slice of cheesecake or flourless chocolate torte. Wifey is a dessert person me not so much, the cheesecake was light and very tasty now I'm not a dessert person but that chocolate torte tasty however too chocolatey for my taste buds. Beautiful evening view of the sunset and the Ravenel bridge. This bridge connects Downtown Charleston to mount Pleasant. We took the 2 hr tour and saw ships, forts, the Battery of Charleston, dredges, the old Navy base, dry docks, and a dolphin, etc. Captain Chris tailored the tour to our interests specifically and our recollections of the area from decades ago. I highly recommend. First there were just the 4 of us so no crowds for Covid worries. Secondly , it was tailored to our interests... we covered a lot of ground in 2 hrs! Third, the cost was less than if we had taken a bigger ship with a herd of people and waited around as they fished, sight saw etc. this small ship was perfect and fast enough we saw everything we wanted and we're back before we burned up from the sun!
