In the beginning years I found this veterinary service excellent but as time went on my opinion changed. Recently these are a few of the issues I have had. A few months back my dog had an appointment for a health certificate to travel abroad. The vet who took care of us found that the dog had an ear infection. Medication was prescribed but a culture was not taken to find out exactly what antibiotic should be used. Following application of this prescribed drug my dog went deaf within 3 days. Come to find out this is a possible side effect of this medication of which we were never informed. Upon returning to the vet to be seen because of this complication the vet was uncaring and dismissive. When I stated my dog needs to hear my commands the response was "oh well, you can teach him hand signals". Upon notifying Dr Reis about this she started to treat my dog, at her expense, with acupuncture. Fortunately this has helped to a degree. Another issue is the constant wait time for a scheduled appointment. Every time I have brought my dog in there is always a long wait. I had a scheduled 10:35 appointment this week which I arrived on time for but was left sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes, then taken into the examination room and waited another 30 minutes. At no point did any staff member even acknowledge that I was there. After this hour wait I decided to leave. Stopped at the receptionist desk and told them I was leaving. No explanation was given to me. I found this to be unacceptable because it wasn't the first time this has happened. Today I requested all my dog's records and started with a new veterinary service.

They never did. I then called the next morning. They said they needed to go through their morning rounds and they would call me after that; they never did. I called in the afternoon and I was placed on hold for 10 minutes and no one ever apologized for the wait or the length of time it took to call but they asked me to come in the next morning based on the analysis reports and that they would like to see her first thing in the morning. . So first thing in the morning we go there and we are waiting now 50 minutes and then told very rudely that if we didn't like the wait then our records could be sent somewhere else. No one ever asked how my dog was doing. No one wanted to hear how many times it took to get someone to pay attention to my dogs urine analysis results indicating a kidney infection. Super bad care never on time takes them 20 minutes to check you out and they are very disrespectful and rude. Justified I was upset when being dismissed and and spoken to rudely. Do not go here if you actually want to be respected and seen in a timely manner.

When someone saw me looking at puppy collars and found out that I was adopting a Golden, they had lots of good advice! My one complaint is with the Kong crate that I bought. First of all, I have arthritis in my hands, and it just about killed me to get the box open and to get the crate out of the box. When I finally did, I realized it was A USED crate! The pan on the bottom had dog hair and hadn't been cleaned! See pictures below. I didn't even have my pup yet!! I was furious! This was a very expensive crate! On top of that, the bottom latch is bent. It still works though. So, I killed my hands opening the box, got a used item and then had to clean it because I'm picking up my puppy tomorrow. There's no sense in complaining to Pet Smart. It's obviously not their fault. My time is better spent giving this review and preparing this crate for Hope. Kong has a really good reputation which is the reason I bought it. Just goes to show you...you can't trust anyone. Update: I just called Petsmart and they were very happy to give me a new pan for the bottom for the crate, which is just what I asked for! THANK YOU PETSMART!!!

They explained things, smiled, was very polite and this is the normal experience at most Petco's around Florida. However, the main cashier for all other purchases, a young girl, just wasn't polite at all. No smile, barely any response to questions, the bare minimum, which is strange to me because one thing I have always loved about Petco is they have always been known for their friendly staff. I didn't feel that vibe here. Now this was my first time using their grooming service and the grooming itself was okay. It wasn't the best haircut but it wasn't horrible either. However, the groomer was super polite and that alone will bring me back. Too bad the grooming counter is only for those using the grooming service. But the main cashier is the face everyone has to encounter if they make any purchases, including grooming and this girl wasn't polite at all. Very short answers, murmuring her words, the bare minimum and I mean BARE! I will return again for my normal dog food purchases and maybe even grooming and I hope it gets better.

I do like going to the doggie cookie section where you can bag your own cookies so you can get a different variety of choices. I have the checkout line they do have a freezer for doggy ice cream. You can get one or a whole box of them to treat your happy pup. After her grooming, I do like to purchase some snacks for her for being such a good do. The ice cream cup that I purchased for her seemed to have natural ingredients and not mystery ingredients. The stuff has taken great care of my dog since she is very skittish when it comes to getting her nails clipped. I'm gonna keep coming here as long as I have a great experience and I still live in the area.
