Service: I didn't catch her name, but the owner was so nice and welcoming. She gave us good recommendations from the drink menu. Everything we got: 1) Maui Vera - I bought this reef friendly sunscreen. I was told regular sunscreen will not help, so I waited until we came out here to buy sunscreen. This sunscreen helped protect me from crazy sunburns. It is very thick and dries up quickly. It does leave you looking whiter than usual lol. 2) Smoothies - My ILs ordered the Hawaiian Superman, Strawberry Bliss, Chocolate Monkey, and Super Soursop. All these smoothies were recommended by the owner based on their preferences. They absolutely enjoyed their drinks. Ok so the store looks a little beat and a bit sketchy from the outside, but inside they offer some of the best tasting sushi rolls around. We picked up some rolls for the car ride to Hilo, and we killed them all in just a couple minutes. They have pretty good variety of sushi, ranging from spam musubi to "bento" rolls. My favorite was the Korean chicken bento roll... which had flavorful chicken, spam, kamoboko (fish cake), and furikake (Japanese rice seasoning)... just like a bento all wrapped into a sushi roll. How genius is that?! Why don't all sushi bars make sushi like this?? The teriyaki beef roll is also really good. And the best part is you can grab one of these delicious rolls for under $5.00! A roll like that at any Japanese restaurant would cost you over $10 for sure. Besides the amazing sushi, you can grab other random items from the store. There's not a whole lot you can get, but there are random things to buy ranging from drinks and Hawaiian specialty food items, to cleaning supplies, and even hoy hoy roach traps. Definitely stop by if you're passing through town!

The honey vendor has some free samples. We got some fresh fruit. They had lilikoi so I had to get some. We also got a guava to try. The fruit was good, but it was very expensive. When we were on Maui, there were tons of roadside fruit stands and this is definitely the cheaper way to buy fruit. We didn't see any of these on the big island though.

Kamuela Liquor Store has been in business for over 80 years, the signage on the glass window has 78 years but I confirmed with the kind lady staff that helped me twice this past Saturday, is family owned liquor store located in Kamuela on Hawaii Belt Road, parking is next to the store which is a great thing and offers an impressive selection of wines, spirts, sake, and craft beers, they have a unique offering of cheeses, meats, olives, snacks, some groceries and dips. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable with my questions on wines and recommendations. They also have weekly wine/sake tasting on weekends. I usually stop here to grab my alcohol for the hotel stay and I saw some great deals, close out deals. I purchased 4 bottles and went back to grab a few more bottles, before we drove back to Hilo, during my most recent visit. Luckily the 6 bottles made it back to Oahu safely. It was such a great deal, a close out deal at $6.99, the only regret is not purchasing the last 6 bottles that were left. It was an Oregon wine which I always wanted to try when I was @ Portland but didn't have the chance to.
