While you sit in the chair getting your teeth whitened, they give you these yellow tinted plastic glasses that supposedly protect your eyes. I was doubtful because they look like they came out of a cereal box. When you're done with the procedure, you take the glasses off and your teeth look pretty white. A glass of lemonade would look white at that point too - after spending about an hour seeing everything tinted yellow. When my eyes had adjusted and I got home I realized my teeth hadn't whitened at all. Tricky! They also are very pushy to get you to buy another session at a discount. The discount only applies if you pay on the spot, and they really press you. I paid in the office for a second session that I didn't even bother going back for because it's truly a waste of time for minimal results. They sometimes offer a discount for positive Yelp reviews, so keep in mind that a lot of these 5 stars are from people who are getting some money back and haven't had enough time to realize their teeth are same as always. As a final insult, my teeth were incredibly, painfully sensitive for the rest of the day.

I would not recommend this practice…read more Before scheduling my appointment, I specifically called the office to confirm that they accepted my MetLife PPO dental insurance. I was told that they did, and I was explicitly assured that if there were any reason my insurance would not cover the services, the office would let me know before I came in. Their website also indicates that they accept MetLife PPO. I also specifically asked about the cost of the services beforehand. During my appointment, the dental hygienist was supposed to inform me about an additional $395 charge but "forgot." I was only informed about this charge when I went to check out. At that point, I was pressured to pay the $395 and was repeatedly assured that my dental insurance would cover 80-100% of the costs. I have now found out that the claim was submitted as out-of-network, despite my having specifically confirmed my insurance status with the office beforehand, and my insurance ultimately covered none of the $395. What is most frustrating is that I made a point of calling ahead specifically to avoid exactly this situation. Had I been told that the provider was out-of-network or that I could potentially be responsible for hundreds of dollars, I would not have proceeded with the treatment. Patients deserve accurate information about both insurance network status and out-of-pocket costs before treatment, not a surprise $395 charge at checkout followed by assurances that insurance will cover it when that turns out not to be the case. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled and will be telling my friends, family, and anyone I know looking for a dentist not to use this practice. I will be filing a formal complaint with the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker protection as well as the Better Business Bureau over these fraudulent and misleading practices.

He took X-rays of my tooth from every side, with a lot of attention. My tooth had no damage. I did not need the work. He was very honest with me and told me I would need an implant. It was a very dramatic news for me but they were wonderful. I was referred out to the close by ortho dentist and the came back to get my crown. The entire experience was straight forward and easy. They never tried to upsell me anything. My only issue with this location is the Dental Cleaning. After finishing up the issues with my teeth, I had a dental cleaning and it was extremely painful. I thought it was just normal when I started visiting the Court Side location since it was more convenient for me, Dr. Karpova did my cleaning was literally pain free. I assumed it was cause maybe previously I had dirty teeth This month I did cleaning at this location again since it was convenient and since I been keeping up with all my cleanings it wouldnt be too bad. No, it was very rough and felt rushed. I did not feel comfortable at all. I might try court street again for cleaning, but if its still painful I think I will switching for cleaning. However for other procedures where the actual dentist is working on it, I would absolutely recommend this place.
