Everything in the store is made by someone in the program. That program supports people living with a disability. It's amazing! You can see where they do the sewing for all the toys and bandanas. They are also raising money to open a housing community for those with disabilities because it's often much more difficult for them to obtain and maintain housing. That part of the organization is called Belong KC and I bought myself a tshirt to support that effort! They also have a large selection of bandanas. The design that fits over the collar so it stays on! The treats are handmade and so cute as well! They have handmade toys for dogs and cats! I'm so glad I saw them while grabbing a coffee at 7 Brew and stopped in! What a wonderful organization to have in the community. I'll be going back for more! Hopefully, I'll remember to take photos next visit!

It is the summer and steamy outside, and it felt awful on the inside. Not like the air is broke, but like they're trying to be cheap on running the air conditioning. My husband went to one area and I went to the books and toddler clothing area. While I was in both areas, I kept smelling some awful smell, which can only be described as body odor and urine. I kept thinking maybe someone nearby was smell smelling like that. But as I moved throughout the store, I figured out the whole store smelled awful. My husband found me in the area I was at and he said that the store smelled awful and I hadn't even said anything to him. The smell was stuck in our nose for 30 minutes, at this point I feel like the health department needs to visit to find out what is going on. It was just awful and I would recommend avoiding that store!

I was looking for a radon mitigation tech because my home tester device was reading over 12 pCi/L, which is very high. The EPA recommends mitigation at levels above 4 pCi/L. So, I called A1 Healthy Homes for a radon mitigation system quote and James sent me all the relevant info. The appt only took a few hours, and a few days after the mitigation system was installed our radon level was reading below 1 pCi/L, which is excellent. Communication with James was great throughout, and I thought his price was reasonable. I also was looking for some clothing for my one-year-old grandson. They had quite a bit but it was not separated, according to size. So I browsed through a selection of it, but it was too difficult to try to find 24 month outfits with all of the other sizes mixed in. They had a variety of typical items found at thrift stores like clothing and household goods and limited books. I feel like the donations were slightly poor quality at this location. The one positive was the young man who worked at the cash register, who greeted every person and was nice and had great manners!

Usually if you go to a thrift store, the toy area is trashed from the kids playing with the toys. But they had the toys higher up on shelves and bagged with the pieces that go with the toys. So they actually had a better selection of toys because all the pieces are most pieces were intact. I ended up buying some toys there for my grandson and also some books. Their prices were good compared to other thrift stores. I did not look at the clothing prices which tend to be ridiculous at most thrift stores. We did not have to wait long at all to check out and the woman was friendly. I have been to the other Blessings Abound thrift store in Overland Park, but not this one. I would recommend it to anyone living in this area.

As of now, though, they are commonly known for: Veggie Lunch! 11-1pm (like i say, hours change, you should check the site), a free lunch (well, sorta, they accept donations) and you can talk to the random veggie-heads/ECM crew. probably going to meet someone who just got back from tanzania, someone leaving tomorrow for ecuador and someone who knows how to build a canoe with a sleeping bag and a tree branch. Human Sexuality Class offered by former prof. Dennis Dailey. The controversial Dailey is still going strong just off campus. This class is offered on a sliding scale, like most things ECM puts on. Alternative Breaks and Eco-Justice Field Trips-- for students who want to do something beside Cabo over the holiday A $5 International cooking class on Mondays?! (It's true. They were just as impressive. They also had other items for sale, including: jewelry, fused glass art, magnets, and larger art items. If you like unique holiday gifts, I encourage you to get on the mailing list to be aware of events.

She had only been taken care of…read moreby me up until then, so it was a huge adjustment and the staff at Googols did an exemplary job of helping her and I adjust (it was tough for me, too! ). Now she loves going to school! And we've seen amazing leaps in her development, specifically in toilet training, adventurous eating, and the ability to entertain herself instead of relying on mom and dad to provide entertainment. She's so interested in everything around her now and she's always singing new songs she learns at school. Everyone in our family has experienced an enormous mood boost now that we all have work/school during the day! We love the care that the teachers here provide. They even fix her hair when it becomes unruly. Can't recommend Googols enough.

The facility is clean and well sanitized I have never had a problem with my kids coming home sick from here. They have a gaming room for my older kids and a decent playground for my little one.
