He was a challenge, especially at night when he had his times mixed up. The staff was firm but caring, and they made certain my dad was safe. They made the most challenging and stressful part of my life much more manageable, because I was confident that they cared for my dad as much as I did. The facility is just like someone's home, a very clean home. Meals are home-cooked. The staff know each resident, and they are always, ALWAYS patient and kind. There are activities. Staff manage medications impeccably. The health, safety, and comfort of the residents is at top of mind of every staff member. It's impossible for me to sing their praises high enough. If you need peace of mind for your aging loved one, you cannot go wrong with Mayfield Oaks. They are your extended family.

Helen the owner has gone out of her way to work with the in's and outs of this terrible disease. I can't recommend this place enough. Mayfield Oaks has been a life saver for our family. After a long period trying to find the best option for our mom and having to move in and out of various properties, we realized she just could not adapt well to the larger communities. The resort-like atmosphere of those places was very appealing to us, as younger adults, but once you got past the flashiness, it was always missing was the love and care you get when living in a smaller place. The attention our mom receives now is better than even we could give her in our own home. She fell in love with Mayfield because it reminded her of her own house and she feels like she is living with family - and the staff has truly become our extended family. It's been the single greatest choice we have ever made.

The food is much better now than it was before they failed their health inspection. The new chef…read moreknows how to actually run a kitchen. The place does need some updating. Memory care is an absolute nightmare. The floor is like fly paper, they do the laundry, but never even turned the clothes right side out and just stuff them in the drawers, and they have one supervisor that they rely on for seven days a week 24 hours a day. That is an impossible job for anyone and they're too cheap to find extra help. There is very little mental stimulation for the people in memory care. I think it's all about the money and they hope the memory care people don't remember any details to report to their family. The staff doesn't even notice a guest walking in at times. All of them are over in the corner, looking at their telephones. I had walked in more than once to find my family member lying on a bed directly on the plastic! No sheets, no blankets no nothing. We also had numerous pieces of jewelry come up missing from the memory care unit. Granted, we shouldn't have had anything expensive there, but still you like to trust the staff.. Say no to their memory if you love the person you're looking to place there!

This last year during the COVID virus has been challenging for all senior communities. TCW has met the challenges head on, and has been proactive in all areas where needed to continue to keep the residents safe and healthy. From delivering meals directly to each resident, ensuring to screen residents for infection, monitoring and cleanliness, following state mandated guidelines, coordinating that all residents are vaccinated and working daily to keep each resident engaged in the community during a global pandemic, I applaud the staff. There are so.many outstanding and dedicated staff members that have gone above and beyond to ensure the residents quality of life is the best that it can be. In a pandemic, that is no small feat! TCW is a beautiful facility, filled with caring residents. My mother loves this community, the activities, the staff, her lovely apartment and her friends. Just walking in the door, makes you realize that happy residents live here. Thank you TCW staff for all your commitment. So glad that 2020 is over, and the virus pandemic is resolving. Do NOT put your loved one in Memory Care at Historic Roswell Place. My mom was here and…read moresignificantly declined due to lack of care and neglect. There was a high turnover rate of care givers and other staff. Costs increased almost 20% within a year. The memory care is on the third floor of this old run down building, and she hardly ever saw daylight. They'll lure you in with a big song and dance, and then they'll put them in wheelchairs and they just sit there forgotten. Promises of 'activities, field trips, walks, porch visits'. It was sad and depressing every visit, and the third floor smells like pee. My mom was spry and could walk fine when she got there, and when we finally left for good not even a year later, we had to wheel her out because she never walked around and lost abilities, she was unbathed for weeks, and with a UTI. It's quite a shame. No one there, including the employees, are truly happy.

We, as the family, have always been regarded as important. Suzanne is amazing and has always addressed any concern we have promptly and with my grandfathers needs as the priority. Don't let her review stop you from checking out Benton House. I cannot tell you how pleased we are with this place!

We brought my mom to live here after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She did not come willingly…read morebecause she didn't understand her illness and was a handful when she arrived. Suzanne and Chuck went out of their way to make the adjustment as smooth as possible. After a few short weeks, she loved it there. All the workers were extremely kind to her. We had a few minor hiccups with her medications, but that is to be excepted and they were quick to fix the problems. Eventually my mom was placed in their memory care and I was happy with the care she was given. They helped get my mom on hospice and kept me aware of the hospice staff and how they were doing. The biggest gratefulness I have towards Benton House is when my mom fell and fractured her back. We thought for sure she would have to be placed in a nursing home. They were wonderful to accept her back and told me this was her home. She died a few weeks later, but happy and grateful that she was able to live her final days in a place she eventually fell in love with.

My mom has been in two other memory care facilities and neither one could hold a candle to the Oaks. The staff is so caring and loving. They treat all the residents like family. The management gets down and dirty with the care staff. Not one of them is hesitant to help care for a resident. I can go on forever in praising the Oaks. I am so thankful that Shelley was persistent in sending me emails inviting me to the upcoming events. That is what led me to choose Oaks when it was time for Mom to move.

My mother is very happy living here and she comments often about how kind everyone is. The food is great, they have Chef Mark to plan and prepare the meals. I wish I could eat so well! The staff really go the extra mile, they let me know if there have been any changes with my mom, even if it's something minor. Mom's room is always clean, her laundry is done several time a week and is folded/put away for her. Her bed linens are changed once a week, the trash in her room is emptied daily. I would love to live here one day. Andrew, the Executive Director, is always out and about. He knows all of the residents by name and knows details about each one. He knew me by name before I had even moved my mom in. The Executive Directors at two other communities where my mom lived prior to the Oaks never left their offices and didn't know my name, even though I visited 4-7 days a week. Lynne, the Horizons activities director, is amazing. She has so many great things planned, my mom loves going for rides on the community bus, even if it's just the "scenic joyride" around Woodstock. My mother has lived at three other AL and memory care communities and the Oaks is by far the best. I visited four communities before selecting the Oaks. I also asked around a lot, talked to many people in the industry, including the caregivers, CNAs, etc. They all said how great the Oaks is and how much they would love to work there if given the chance.
