Highly recommend for baby ear piercings if you're looking for someone who pierces with a needle. My baby is 6 months old and many people had recommended coming here since not many places pierce babies anymore or they use piercing guns. No need for an appointment. Just come with ID and baby's birth certificate. I believe Don did my daughter's piercings. He was friendly, patient and very detailed to ensure he got them symmetrical and where I wanted them to be. She did great and healing has been great as well. The piercings costed less than $100. Came in to get my ears pierced a couple months ago. They pierced with hoops, one ear got infected even though I did all aftercare they recommended. I took it out to let it heal and once it was healed I called back to see if I could get it re-pierced, they told me to come in and they would re-pierce it for me. I came in and then the guy said they don't do re piercings and they would charge me for a new piercing. That was the whole reason I called before hand so I didn't have to come all the way out here. Big waste of my time. Not customer serviced based shop. read more

Great atmosphere with a lot of attitude! The style and unique artwork made you want to stay in this place. The flash tattoo wall is from Sailor Jerry. Don was the only needler and tattoo artist. My husband wanted 2 small tattoos. While he had to get up and assist other customers (nose piercing, and other piercings) he was SUPER fast coming back to tattoo my husband. He is speedy Gonzales with lettering though! FUN TIP; they have the coziest lounge chair in the front which is right up next to multiple outlets. I feel like that was planned. Great if you're having a friend in the shop with you but they can easily charge their phone while in the waiting area! So I've heard of this place for YEARS! I've lived in the northeast area for a while and have had a few people saying it's a great place. I was a little cautious because of the size and feared I wasn't their usual clientele so I tried "top rated"place's instead. I was literally quoted $400 to put my mom's line drawing at one, told minimum pricing at another that literally was what I paid for my first car with for another. I wanted to do tattoos with my daughters and didn't wanna pay more than my mortgage on it and wanted advice on what and where for them. Great artist, very nice, and professional. (One daughter was stopping him every other minute to breathe) They both already picked out their next ink after their tattoo and know where to go. We literally had every artist working on us so I apologize for not naming them but everyone was amazing, nice, and patient. Truly a great memory and experience. Highly recommend. We were walk-in as well and were greeted and served immediately. Less than an hour later we had ink. As any person who goes through this bring what you want to have or be ready to text or send, have ID, bring cash. No issues it's all printed as soon as you walk in. UPDATE! I went back again for my first tattoo and my septum piercing. The quality was far beyond what I expected at an affordable price. Everybody at the shop is incredibly friendly! Anthony did my tattoo. I wanted a jellyfish on my left inner forearm. He placed it perfectly, did the most amazing shading I've ever seen, and even highlighted with white! (The tattoo was a greyscale tattoo). I am going to be happy with this tattoo forever and already scheduled to get another tattoo with him just a week later. Afterwards, Don did my piercing. He informed me that he didn't think the needle would go through my nose type, as my hard cartilage inside my nose was almost connected, not allowing much space for the needle. He gave me the option to opt out or give it a try (he said that if he hit cartilage, he just wouldn't put the needle through and nothing would happen, no harm no foul and he wouldn't charge me) So I'm like, let's do this! And it turns out Don is a miracle worker because he squeezed it through, and I am so incredibly happy. I gave him a big hug. I have never left an establishment of any kind happier than when I left Arc Angel Tattoo!!! read more

I walked in to try to set up an appointment with Nick. First off, there were about 3 people sitting around on their phones who didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in. I found Nick, and showed him that I wanted a record player on my forearm, with a few words above and below it. He automatically said that he couldn't do the words. He said they wouldn't fit, and that in the long run, the words would look bad. He wasn't even willing to try and help me with my tattoo, and give me what I wanted. I still put down the deposit, which was VERY stupid of me. This was a Thursday, my appointment wasn't until Monday. FRIDAY, the day after I put down the deposit, I called and asked for my deposit back, because I really wanted the words, and wanted to find someone that would actually do what I wanted, and wasn't rude about it. He complained, and said that he had already started working on my tattoo (mind you, there was nothing to work on, I gave him an exact drawing of what I wanted.) All he would have to do is trace it. I told him, cool, I understand, you don't want to draw for free, can you at least send me a pic of what you worked on? He told me that he doesn't send pictures of his work, and that I can come in and see it. I told him I work full-time, and am a full-time student and do not have time to come in and see it. Just send the picture?! - The thing is, I know he was lying, and didn't really work on it. That's why he wouldn't send a picture. I hung up on him, because I don't have time for that type of bullshit in my life. Hey Nick Moreno, I know you need that $50 more than me, go take a course on customer service, so you can learn how to treat people. I'm sick of rude/cocky tattoo artist. Just some advice... NO ONE wants to get a tattoo by an asshole. Oh, I went to Boardwalk tattoo's on San Pedro, and got the record player done, with the words, and it is beautiful. And the artist charged me less than what you estimated. BTW. I know a lot of people who want/have tattoos, and I will be telling them about how crappy Arc Angel's customer service is, and to go to Boardwalk instead. read more

Went here to get my tongue pierced a couple months ago and they took awhile to even greet me. The man who did it I believe his name was Don was really in a hurry like he had something better to do and didn't even warn me or say anything to me. He put the clamps on and pierced it & when I looked in the mirror it was a little over to the right and he said it was the way it was swelling. The man also forgot to tell me how to take care of it, I had to ask him or else he would have never told me I went to another piercing place to have them change the piercing later on to a smaller bar and the person there noticed how slanted it was. & talked about how bad/unprofessional that is. It didn't get infected or anything because I took good care of it & it's not as noticeable the slant in it but it makes it harder to put in my piercings & I'm sure you could find somebody that would do it better and explain the process to you. read more

So, came here 2 months ago to get my nostril pierced. It was fast and painful but looked great afterwards and I was happy. I was told to clean it twice a day with a specific solution, and that's what I did. After a few days, it started growing a bump. Not a painful bump, but large. The bump bled and was oozing pus, and scabbed over multiple times. Over time, it became very painful. There was a nearly identical bump (but twice the size) on the inside of my nose, also bleeding and oozing pus. It stayed this way for 2 months until I went to another piercer to have them look at it. She said it was NOT infected, and it wasn't a keloid, it was just pierced incorrectly. Apparently, if you're going to put in a hoop immediately, you need to pierce the nose with a curved needle, not a straight needle like the piercer at Arc did. And it makes sense, but I'm not trained to know that. My new piercer said that it would simply never heal if I did not take it out and let it close, so that's what I did. And to my surprise, after 5 days the bump was almost gone, and it was completely back to normal after 10 days. I just had it repierced, and it wasn't as painful as the first one, even though she put a hole in a wound, which makes me think that something was done very incorrectly the first time. My recommendation, make sure you watch what they pierce you with. My experience was very different at both places. Nothing was explained to me at Arc Angel, it just happened and he didn't ask if I wanted a hoop or stud until after there was a needle in my nose. Apparently, that isn't normal. I don't want to shame the entire place because everyone was super nice, but I am very disappointed with my experience and piercing. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would! Walked in to discuss getting a tattoo. We had ideas in hand. When we first walked in, 3 guys were just sitting around and no one acknowledge us. One of the waiting customers had to go behind the counter and get someone's attention. Soon as we started to explain what we where looking for, he instantly stopped us and said, you're gonna need images... I was thrown, but said, cool... let me get them. Come back in, we had a different artist talking. It felt like, he just blew us off (the first point of contact guy). So, talking to the second guy, trying to explain our ideas, and he immediately goes into "that's not gonna work!" This second guy, I was able to get his name and it was Nick. Very rude, short in responses, no listening skills, and poor customer service. We are not new to getting tattoos, however we go to "professionals" to kinda guide us in the right direction. If the vision a customer has, doesn't aesthetically makes sense, I feel you as the artist, should make it make sense.... Lastly I felt we were stereotyped and they thought we didn't have to money... 1. We're black 2. We're women 3. They felt we couldn't afford it. I paid $160 total for a tiny smiley face hand tattoo, which they messed up, adding a whole extra spot on it, and a septum piercing, which came out crooked and ended up having to be removed for irritation. After one of my best friends passed away, me and another girl in our group wanted to get a tattoo in remembrance of her. We looked up tattoo parlors in Universal City and decided on Arc Angel because they had the best reviews in the area. However, they're severely lacking on customer service. We entered the shop at 8 pm (4 hours until close) and I asked if I get a quote. I explained to the tattooer ( I don't know his name because he didn't care to introduce himself) why I wanted it, where I wanted it, and showed him a few pics of what I was looking for. He barely glanced at the pics and without even looking at me said he was done for the day. There were three other guys in the shop and no one said anything and just looked at us as if to ask why we were still standing there. If you're "done for the day" why do your hours say you're open until 12am and why was your open sign still on? I have several tattoos and have never been treated as badly or received such heinous customer service EVER. I will not return to or recommend this shop. read more

Very nice and professional. I was going to come here to get my nipples pierced but I got confused and ended up at southpaw down the street. Southpaw did a horrible job and were unprofessional and rushed; both piercing were crooked and done incorrectly. I came to Arc Angel (original destination) to get a second opinion. Don helped me out right away and told me they botched the whole thing. Immediately the adrenaline wore off and I my body went into shock, I had to sit down. I lost all color in my face but Don was very friendly and professional helping to remove the piercings as well as providing water and sweets to get my blood sugar up.
