I stopped by to have someone switch my jewelry out. Andy welcomed me when I entered, and he gave me sound advice on how to deal with my piercing bc I should have switched it out two years ago to a shorter bar. I've got a bit of a keloid on the back bc of the bar shifting when I sleep on it. I've never been able to switch out my own body jewelry, and after this experience, this will be my new piercing place for sure. I got all three of my first ever piercings done here in February 2023 (two earlobe piercings and a nose stud). The service was excellent although I will say I believe the person who did mine was a visiting artist. Since then I have always recommended this place to anyone saying they want to get a piercing or a tattoo in town, and have even been planning to get my first tattoo here. However I was recently dismayed to see that they use AI generated art for their promotional materials. They make stickers, include it in emails and texts, and even set it out in front of the store for passers-by to see. I simply think that for a business that literally employs artists to design and tattoo art onto peoples bodies, using AI generated art for their promotional material is shameful, and shows how cheap the business truly is. Why couldn't they have paid a graphic artist to make something for them, or one of their own artists who utilize their space? There's truly a lack of tact and a disregard for the work of the artists themselves that is put very openly on display here. If this is how they feel about art, I can't imagine they'd be very careful about something any customer wants displayed on their body for the rest of their life. Any claims they make otherwise are immediately negated by the fact that they use AI art in the first place. As I said before, I was planning to get my first tattoo here, and several other piercings, but I will instead be taking my business elsewhere. read more

The shop is nice and there's a large selection of jewelry. I went in bc my nose ring fell out and I needed another put in because my skin heals itself quickly. I'm not sure how much experience they have with various skin types. I spent over $100 for the jewelry, which was astonishing, but I was ok with it bc I thought it would be quality and lasting jewelry. As the months went by, I have consistently had dry, flakey skin around the piercing and lately it's been itchy. I've been pierced for years now and have been cleaning with wound wash and tea tree oil like it's brand new to keep my skin soothed. My skin is not a fan of this hella expensive metal. I don't take my ring out (it will close), but I thought I'd be able to keep the ring for long time use and wear based on the price point. The jewelry is cute at least. read more

Connie is one of the most skillful and talented piercing artists I have ever met. This is not one of those quickie/budget parlors but her skills and ability to answer questions before the piercing and during the healing process are more than worth the price. I came in hoping to get a bellybutton piercing and Connie kindly explained to me that my anatomy was not right AND why that was the case. She allowed me to consider my options and eventually decide on another piercing. Her discernment and knowledge made me feel so informed during the whole process. Our 6-year-old decided she wanted to get her ears pierced and after calling around, One & Only Tattoo was one of the few options in Kyle/San Marcos to have a professional pierce her ears. There was a large selection of age-appropriate earrings for her to choose from, and Andy was very thorough when it came to the sterilization process. His approach couldn't have been better. Extremely disappointed is all I can say. I walked in wanting to get my third pierced on my earlobe. I was pleasantly surprised with the earring options they had available. When I asked the lady at the front desk with tattoos how much it would be she told me it was $50 for the base earring and $60 for the upgraded. I going to get my ears pierced And when I go to check out, she tells me it's $211. This place is a scam and does not inform their customers of the pricing. WILL NOT be going back. Suggest you take your money and time elsewhere. read more

I've been to One & Only Tattoo on 2 occasions! The first was for my birthday I got 2 piercings done and the piercers were amazing! I got piercings by Aedras and the apprentice Quayin they even let me hold her hand (gloves on obviously) while I got my piercing! I definitely recommend calling before going in or scheduling an appt. I went back again with friends to a tattoo and AGAIN amazing services. I love this establishment very friendly and welcoming and I will be going back to get more tattoos and piercings in the future! Five stars?! From ME? Yes, yes I did. This place is awesome. They are very busy so I highly recommend making an appointment. First and foremost, this place is clean. I couldn't even guess how many boxes of gloves they must go through in a month! Huge, HUGE points on cleanliness and safety. The entire staff is friendly, there is NO hard-sell and they will work with you on ideas if you aren't really sure which way to go. My nephew-Joel and my daughter-Michelle were both visiting from out of state and of course, we all wanted to get tattoos together. Unfortunately, both Joel and Michelle wanted more complicated tats than I did and the appointment time we made wouldn't allow all of us to get things completed in the time allotted. Joel was leaving the next day so we let him go first. Daniel did an outstanding job and I was sure this is where we would go to have ours done. Appointment made for later that week and everyone was happy! Michelle and I went in on Friday and all in all I had two, Michelle had five. I hadn't made up my mind on exactly what I wanted for the inside wrist and it was a toss up of an unalome, the Sanskrit for Breathe or something I had seen with carpe diem. Daniel again came through with an excellent idea and combined the unalome, carpe diem and a lotus. I love it! The other one is a dragonfly near my heart with a tiny red heart at the bottom of his tail. Again, beautiful! Michelle had a tattoo she hated and wanted it transformed to something else. What had been a semicolon, became a tiny cow with blue headphones on (her daughter - my granddaughter - has carried around a black and white cow since she was a year old. She is now 16 and that cow is still here). What was the semicolon, became two black spots and a tail! And it is adorable. She also had words written across her chest, a line of rainbow dots on one arm (more words to come on the arm) and the constellations for both of her daughters on either side of her clavicle with one of the stars on each being a heart. Really great job done by Maddie. Not to leave out the piercing specialist, Michelle and I both had a great experience with her. I had a third piercing in both ears and it was quick and (relatively) painless. Michelle couldn't get her piercing because she was going to be on an outdoor camping trip as soon as she went home. But she did replace the one she already had in her nose with one that isn't easy to get out. Hopefully she won't lose that one anytime soon. Bottom line ... if you're considering a tattoo, no matter what age you are, this is the place to go. I personally highly recommend Daniel but everyone else did an awesome job, also. I officially love this place! Not only is the decor super artsy, it all has a whimsical element. I wanted all of the art, btw. Holy cow, do they have some talented artists. You can purchase prints and originals, jewelry, handbags and a few bath items. My niece and I had very simple tattoos done with Maddi and she found a way to make simple script and a heart look special. We left extremely happy. The art is very pigmented and the line work is amazing! We truly could not be more pleased. It has been 3 days and they are both healing perfectly. We ultimately decided on One & Only Tattoo because they are very big on the child giving consent, in addition to obviously the parent. They were very clean, super nice. I've been to quite a few parlors, some of them world famous. This is the coolest looking, cleanest one I've ever visited and with the nicest staff. I called in asking for a walk-in, the lady in the phone was agreeable and didn't sound annoyed, then I got there and they were all cool as cucumbers, no one acting like they're annoyed by doing what they love and getting payed top dollar as I have experienced so many times. Plus the shop is also a gallery and a jewelry store filled with stuff for you to look at while you're waiting. The coolest shop! Very indie and not at all intimidating for those that feel out of place in average, edgier tattoo shops. Callie was incredibly nice, changed her gloves at LEAST four times, and made sure it was right where I wanted my helix flat piercing. She explained the jewelry type (internally threaded) well and talked to me about gauge size options. Quixk, easy, and sterile. Price is $20 for piercing and $20 for the jewelry, so $40 all together. She also changed the jewelry for my other cartilage piercing. If I get another, I'll be going here and am definitely recommending to everyone! read more
