The instructor will explain the maneuvers to you once, either you get it or you don't. Most people who come have pass experience with truck and just need hours for the CDL license. If you have no experience with truck driving look for a different school.

Mark will literally help you construct the foundation to all the maneuvers that you will need for your future career. The yard will have multiple moving trucks and depending on the day a good amount of students. Mark has the patience and awareness to deal with all of it. With his knowledge and your mistakes (you will make mistakes), you will advance through the maneuvers at your own pace. Mark sets the right expectation and does his best to explain different methods to help you conquer each technique if you struggle. There is only one Mark but if you ask him for help he will never hesitate to assist you. Talking to Mark about his previous trucking career is both enlightening and fascinating. He is another person that will tell you the whole truth. If you warm up to the man be prepared to exchange jokes nonstop. Time in the yard seemed to pass by thanks to this instructor. Could not have chosen a better person than Mark to help create such a strong foundation, thank you for everything brother! Steve is the first road master I had the opportunity to go on the road with! He is extremely thorough when it comes to safety. He will take his time explaining how trucking is a serious profession and that those whom do not choose to respect the rules will be responsible for fatalities. Being on the road with Steve the first time I felt the presence that his style is to allow you to realize your mistakes. He will guide you if you are doing something extremely wrong but to clarify he understands you are nervous and that most students have not had the experience of driving a semi-truck. I personally have driven stick before and still made numerous mistakes my first time driving a ten speed manual semi-truck. He gave me solid advice on double clutching and how I cannot put the clutch all the way down to the ground. After listening to his advice and putting in some time to practice the gears on a parked yard truck during lunch, I had found my foot hole. The next time driving with him he had seen significant progress. He will speak as clearly and calmly as possible which is a great foundation to get some road experience. Fortunate to have a laid back, funny and knowledgeable man like Steve during my first time on the road, Thank You for your patience and everything brother! Will is the second road master I had the opportunity to go on the road with. I can wholeheartedly say that Will is a funny ass MOTHERTRUCKER! My 1st time driving with him I wasn't nervous but ready to hear about the higher tone reinforcement that some students have told me about. Honestly, I could not stop smiling the whole time because I was ready to be challenged and put my skills to the test. Realistically it was nothing but a good time in that truck. I felt like I was just cruising with some buddies and they all had faith in my abilities. Wills style of teaching is to reinforce your strengths and eliminate any fear or hesitation. He understands that you will need to make your own choices on the road and he will do the best to give you an inner voice, one of certainty. He will be loud, he will be clear; he also is a fountain of information. With years of experience and tons of advice he is another person whose advice you can take to heart. He personally took some students who were testing and ran them through their pre-trip to ensure that we had it perfect. He gives just the right amount of praise with a healthy "Aye ya go!". I am blessed to have driven with Will by my side, Thank You for everything brother! Mike is the last road master I had the opportunity to hit the road with. Mike, early in the course helped me master my in cab and coupling portion of the pre-trip. He will take the time to thoroughly explain the most effective way to get through it and focus on a sweeping motion instead of the memorization method. This simple but logical way of explain the pre-trip is what helped numerous students thrive for their actual test date. When I had the chance to hit the road with him he definitely challenged us. He had us test/practice our clutch control. He helped polish our downshifting and for me personally helped me understand the range of what each gear can withstand. He definitely put students through their paces. Sharp turns, different speed roads, bridges, railroads and then some. Thanks to my previous road masters I now had confidence in my skill combined with Mike's guidance my skills were developing confidence of their own. He taught us to never try to out drive our truck or weather conditions. Once you became a polished gem the fun ascended to another level. Cracking jokes, trading stories and giving/receiving life advice was a no brainer. Forever grateful to Mike and the ancestors, Thank You for everything brother! (CONTINUED)
