I can remember a time when Monarch was a new agency and very one-on-one with its employees. They really came through for me at a time when I needed work. Then I left them to go back to school for a few years. After I finished school, I came back to them for work. That was a few months ago, and thus far I've had no job placements from them, nor any kind of follow-up. Monarch has become very impersonal now that they've grown and branched out to numerous offices in the Delaware Valley; accordingly, they treat their applicants as commodities rather than as unique human beings with talents and skills to offer the work force. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA, so they're probably avoiding me because my brain not only intimidates them, but also makes them fear that I'll ask for too much money. Temp-to-perm is a lie. They say that to hook you in, like all temp agencies do. The assignment they give you is disposable, a job that will cease to exist as soon as the assignment is over. Also, they post direct-hire jobs on their web site, but you don't respond to the company that's hiring. What you do instead is send your resume to one of Monarch's reps. You're supposed to believe that Monarch will forward your resume to the company, but how can you be sure that this will really happen if you're not sending your resume directly to that company? In all likelihood, Monarch is padding their database with all the resumes they receive from these job postings, which are probably bogus postings for non-existent positions, so that they can legitimately tell clients that they have a heavily-populated stable of qualified temps waiting to serve the clients' needs. Whom they pick and choose to fulfill these needs is an exact science. Smart people like me are passed over for the reasons I stated above. You stand the best chance of getting hired by Monarch if you're some half-illiterate coming to them off the welfare line, as they can claim you as a tax credit. That way they make money off you even if they don't place you. This is how most temp agencies roll; how sad that this once-great agency has followed suit. Once upon a time, Monarch was truly a honest, ethical agency to work for, and I felt honored to represent them. Now they're scammers, just like every other temp agency out there. Don't waste your time with Monarch -- or any other temp agency, for that matter. If you want a job, your best bet is to apply for it outright to the company of your choosing. read more

Horrible! I wouldn't recommend this agency for all the reasons some others have stated. I also recently signed up a few months ago and have experienced the same lack of communication and back and forth with supposed job openings. I have worked with 2 other agencies while in college and once graduated and never experienced this with either of those companies. I had a bad enough experience to post my concern with this company. Like others have said if you are looking for a job just go directly to an employer; this company is a waste of time and you don't benefit. read more

I am very happy with Monarch Staffing. I had such a quick response after submitting my resume and quickly was able to get an interview with a Staffing Manager. The Staffing Manager was extremely helpful and even willing to help me with my resume and provided positive feedback. The Staffing Manager was able to set me up with an interview with an employer right away and if it didn't work out, she had other positions available. Mine has been a very good experience with Monarch Staffing. I registered with them in January and it was, indeed, several weeks of hearing nothing before an opportunity was offered. By the end of Feb. I was placed in a temp admin position with a small company. The company and people/management have been wonderful. I am now a permanent employee and I feel very fortunate and grateful to have signed with Monarch. During the temping period, I did hear very little from Monarch, but in the end, my experience has been extremely positive and I wanted to share that. read more

Within 2 weeks of contacting Monarch Staffing, I was offered a full-time position with a company (I'm finishing my 2nd week at my new job!). When you're in front of them, they tell you how wonderful you are and then never hear from them again after you leave their place. Finally a great temp agency!! It took awhile, but I got a great contract position through this agency. I applied on a whim, thinking I wasn't qualified but I ended up getting the job. My assignment has been extended twice already. I might've just gotten lucky with this assignment, but Monarch has taken good care of me while I'm working. Even before this, they did consistently email me when they had opportunities open (real jobs, not fake ones they use to lure you in for an interview). I liked that more than calling in available every week to some receptionist who may or may not have even written my name down. read more

My experience with Springfield Monarch Staffing has been very good. I walked in, signed up with them and scheduled an interview. The interview was scheduled in less than 2 weeks away. It went well and within a couple days, I got a call and was placed on a short term contract the following week. Two or three days later, I got a call about another position that starts soon after my contract will be up. I've heard good things about this Monarch Staffing site from my family and now I see why. As an employer I applied with Monarch to hire a receptionist. They said they cant work with us because of our credit. That is non-sense as we have a stellar credit record. I have two very successful business so I knew something was off-kilter. They send one of their account reps to look at our facility and then said they could not work for us. Our facility is not new but it is very comfortable and clean. Something fishy is going on with this company. read more

I too have to agree with some of the sentiments of Tory M's review. I signed up with Monarch about 18 months ago and have followed up very frequently with the recruiters in all of their offices to no avail. I am very good about checking their website on a frequent basis and sending my resume for opportunities that I am qualified for, I hardly ever get any follow up from Monarch letting me know that they've gotten my resume and/or that they have submitted me for any positions. I do understand that they are at the mercy of their clients but it does seem very unsettling for job seekers like me who just truly want to work - I've even inquired with them about what I could do to make me a more stand out candidate to their clients. It's very frustrating to feel like you're getting the run around and as if you are just a number in their database. read more

I have had a wonderful experience with Monarch. The same day I went in and met some of the recruiters, I got a call about a temporary position at a local university, which was something I'd mentioned as an interest. The agency worked with me to get me other interviews within the university, connecting me with the university's HR staff as well. I always got the sense that Monarch was rooting for me to find something permanent there. And it finally happened! As of this week, I'm a permanent employee.
