Why 5 stars? Because pretty much everything was ideal about my experience. --- --- --- We recently moved into a house that's only a few years old and needed very little updating, but we did want to upgrade our shower door. The old one was more of a builder-grade, cheap glass that was just a bit clunky and loud. We were seeking a frameless glass door and Arc Glass seemed to have the best reviews in the area. When I called them, they said they would be out on a certain day and time and they were. They gave me a quote that was much cheaper than I anticipated. They told me when my install day/time would be. They showed up that day and installed it. As I usually say in reviews of home services, these things should be the norm, but they sadly are not. The fact that everything went perfectly according to what I was told was almost reason enough for 5-stars alone. Now for the only hiccup (with a good ending): We asked for the door that opens in and out. Once it was installed, I noticed that there were plastic guards that prevented the door from opening inward. The installer mentioned that he knew it wasn't what I asked for and he wasn't sure why they sent him over with the wrong equipment. I called the office and told them I wanted them to install the door that we originally asked for and they said it would not be a problem and that it would be done in about 5 days. This was the only step of the process where the quoted timeframe did not match reality. 12 days later, I called the office again and was told that the glass had just arrived the night before and that they could come out tomorrow to install it. They indeed, did come the next day and it looks so much cleaner now without the plastic guards. So there were a couple of minor hiccups, but overall, I got a great product and found them to be quite reliable. Especially for this industry. I'd definitely recommend anyone needing a shower upgrade give Arc a call. read more

I had an appointment with them for estimate, I had to call them to see why they did not show up. They came later that day finally. I had a good interaction with the guy that came for estimate, he was knowledgeable and he seemed to understand the options I was interested in getting estimates for so I could decide what I would do. I waited 2 days to get their estimate, and it was from someone in their office who obviously didn't understand the options. The actual estimate was written very confusingly so I asked for revised one based on the 2 options I had discussed on site. I wanted all my communication in writing so I sent her the 2 options spelled out. Again, another 2 days later again, I got a new estimate that read exactly as the first confusing estimate. I consider trying to deal with them a big waste of time, unknowledgeable behavior, and poor communicators. I don't recommend these guys at all. read more

I was super impressed with the quality of service and customer service provided by Arc Glass. Our technician and his assistant arrived on time and gave me multiple options for repairing or replacing our damaged shower door. He gave me honest feedback and did not try to upsell me at all. In the end, I decided to get the door repaired and get a free estimate on upgrading the full enclosure. He was able to repair the door and complete the measurements for the estimate in less than 45 minutes. Our shower door hasn't worked this perfectly since we bought the house 7 years ago! He even noticed the latch needed to be fixed and repaired that too without me even mentioning it (I planned to do it myself later). From the lady on the phone, to the sales person who came to give us an quote, to the fellas who came and installed my shower glass, everyone was fantastic. Everyone went above and beyond my expectations for service and I highly recommend them for anything glass related. Backstory - I wake up up at 3am to a loud crashing noise. (Scary) At first, I couldn't figure out what the hell had happened, until I heard what sounded like water drops coming from my bathroom. I look to see my shower glass completely shattered into a million pieces. At that point, I figured I was being haunted, and couldn't sleep the rest of the night. (No other "activity" since then, so I might have just been unlucky) The next morning I called around to a couple of glass places, but didn't feel comfortable with the timelines most other companies provided. Arc glass could come the following Monday (I called on Friday evening). When the sales guy came, he was knowledgable and empathetic of the situation, he said that though rare, its not unheard of for glass to shatter randomly, something to do with improper tempering, or possibly settling of the home. (Damn Houston soil) He was able to call us with a VERY reasonable quote later that day. I confirmed and they had their glass makers start on my custom piece. That took about a week (again, much quicker than other companies). The installers came, two friendly fellas, and took the time to make sure to clean up all the broken glass thoroughly, and installed the glass in a timely manner. Fastest response on Yelp. Got tempered glass table top for new west elm breakfast table. Very Corona sensitive so we had no interaction. They wore gloves and mask when installing. High quality glass. We really like it. It's more comfortable than the other glass table top we have on another table. Maybe the beveled edge? Everyone at ARC Glass was very professional and courteous, especially the lady who took our order over the phone. They were prompt and got things done as soon as possible. We had to replace a broken window. They came to measure, then a few days later with a new piece of glass. Unfortunately, the glass was 5/8 of an inch too small on one side, so somebody messed up somewhere. But they were very apologetic, installed that glass and taped the gap, and immediately re-ordered the glass. They were back with it a couple of days later, and this time it fit, and they did a good job replacing it. They cleaned it thoroughly, which was nice. We felt they gave us a very fair price. Apart from the one mistake, our experience with them was positive in every way, and we would definitely use them again and recommend them. read more

"Good is the enemy of great", Jim Collins. I think about these folks everyday, or a least when I shower which is most days. They installed a seamless showers and for the most part did OK. But everyday I have to look at the screw they stripped out while installing and the gap in the caulking that they missed. I also have to deal with leaking at the door most mornings. If they strive to be great, I think these items would be done properly and not just good enough! Why can't people do quality work anymore, wouldn't it be great? read more

We were remodeling a house and needed to get two sets of shower glass installed. They gave us a great deal and even lowered it by $150 when I asked if that was the best they could do. The owner came out to install our glass and noticed a piece of the hardware for our sliding glass door had some cosmetic damage. I didn't even notice it when I was watching them install. He told me he would return to the warehouse and reschedule another time to install. He was apologetic and came with a fancy scented soap bar for the inconvenience.
