Is the wait time for installing windows still 8 to 10 weeks out?

There are a lot of variable that change the lead time like shapes, sizes, tempered glass and colored frames. We are currently get normal size white rectangle windows in 4-6 weeks.

Many of which were mullioned windows (if you pay to have your windows washed - you know the added expense of those!) I received 4 quotes from different companies. Some were higher, one was lower, but I went with Vizion because of the fact they are a family owned Texas based company and they have over 4 decades of experience in the Window Industry. From the initial meeting to the installation, it was a seamless experience, and this was during Covid, when material shortages were creating 8-10 month back orders. They stayed in constant contact and the windows are great. I recommend at the very least, inviting them out to bid on your window project. I don't think you'll regret it. They are as honest as the day is long. And that's hard to find in this day and age.

Tiffany came out to do measurements for all new exterior doors. She was so wonderful. She explained everything, answered our million questions and was so patient doing so. I called or texted her with even more questions. Still she was so patient. Tiffany even came out a second time and brought color samples for me to see. We finally made our select on all the doors we need and placed the order. These doors are not cheap by any means. (Btw-we are talking about 9 exterior doors) Now we are waiting for our order to come in before the install begins. I will update when they come in. I highly recommend them!!!

Sometimes installing windows can be a pane, but Houston Window Experts makes it easier than…read moreexpected. I used them twice for different houses, so that alone is a testament of my good experience with this company. On my latest install, they were professional from start to finish, although not perfect in some areas (more on that later). I'll start with the issues, and then close with the positives. On our first house, I encountered some disappointing challenges during the execution/installation phase. Our garden was trampled on, one of the windows were installed on the wrong spot, and a light fixture was damaged and the crew tried (poorly) fixing it without notifying me (all caught on CCTV). With all that said though, the company stands by doing the right thing and resolved everything on a timely manner. How it was handled was much appreciated and influenced me to use them again and refer others. On our second house, almost everything went smoothly. All windows were replaced in just two days! Just encountered a minor hiccup when a wall was damaged and a worker claimed it was pre-existing. Luckily, I purposely took before-photos and was able to provide evidence that it was not pre-existing. In the end, it was fixed within satisfaction. As for the positives, I really have to give credit to Milton, the supervisor on the second house. He was very professional and accommodating. On one of the windows, he found water damage and pointed it out to me instead of trying to cover it up. The damage and source were all fixed. Seriously, he could have moved on and I would have never known! All the windows were installed to my satisfaction. Few minor quirks remained, but possibly due to the window manufacture (or so I was explained). Also appreciate how floors snd countertops are covered to prevent/reduce damage and dust. I recommend this company. Here are some tips before using them (or any other window company): - Take lots of photos of each window before the work starts. Ensure to get several close ups and different angles of the trim and corners, both inside and out. Ensure good lighting for a useful photo. - Check with your HOA to see if it's the window replacements are allowed. Some care about colors of trim and grid vs non-grid. - Expect the order to take several months to come in. Get your quote early if it's a house you plan on moving in.

It was an expensive project, which we agreed on and signed the contract. After the contract was signed, the necessary tasks conveniently increased in price with the salesman saying he forgot to add certain parts of the project and more materials were needed than he anticipated. Just a bunch of lies, excuses and overselling. The company actually subcontracts to other contractors, which I did not like. I thought all the workers would be working for Allied, so the work and communication could be seamless. Instead, it was chaotic and unorganized at times. The promised date the project would be fully completed by kept getting delayed and pushed back. The crews did clean up afterwards but not well. There were a lot of nails found all over my property. It was very stressful because I had to take off work an additional several weeks beyond the mutually determined project completion date. I also had to closely monitor to make sure the work was done well, which I had to point out many mistakes along the way. The company did not take any responsibility for increasing the prices along the way or for the big time delay in completing our home project. Their indifference shows that they only care about money and not about customer service and satisfaction.

However, their team who did the painting had several issues: they were about to leave without painting the gutters. They got paint on the brick. They got paint on the driveway. I was to get all leftover paint and they were not leaving at my home. I had to ask for the leftover paint. I had to get a supervisor, who fortunately showed up about 30 minutes before they tried to leave, have them correct the issues-all except paint on brick which I CANNOT GET OFF. They also handed me a sheet to complete about the job as they were leaving and said I had to fill out and give back to them before they left. The sheet stated that they were to give me this sheet on day one, not on day seven. Allied Siding sign was not put in my yard till day six and they should have put out in day one. I called the office in Tomball to report all issues. Melissa listened and was glad I called. She felt the manager should also speak to me-he called and did not seem interested at all as to what I had to say.

Chapter: 3 It is now mid-October of 2025, when I noticed the caulking that was applied in April of 2025, began to fail. On October 23, 2025, photographs were taken and sent via email to both the Owner and the Operations Manager for their assessment. There was no response from Castle Door regarding this matter. On October 28, 2025, I telephoned Castle Doors and spoke with the Operations Manager regarding the correspondence that was sent on October 23, 2025. I was informed that they didn't receive my correspondence on October 23, 2025. During our brief telephone conversation, the Operations Manager stated that he would need to research this and get back to me. Later that afternoon, I received a response from the Operations Manager informing me that this is a normal condition, that this was an aesthetic issue. I indicated that this is not normal and that his response was not acceptable. He agreed to research this further and get back to me. On October 31, 2025, I telephoned their Operation Manager for an update. Again, I was told this condition was normal. I informed him that the door assembly and trim in place prior to Castle Doors installation was painted black in 2016 and there no issues with either the caulking or paint. I sent an email to both the Owner and Operations Manager requesting that Castle Doors provide me with the product name and product number for the caulking and paint that was used. I received an email from the Owner indicating the paint is peeling off the caulking. He indicated they were willing to address this issue by using new black caulking, which will not be painted. I was also informed that anything painted black with full sun exposure was going to be problematic. On November 10, 2025, email correspondence was sent to the Owner of Castle Doors stating that as a professional, this should have been addressed prior to caulking and painting. It amazes me that this determination could be made by looking at photos and not performing a site visit. They indicated that they are willing to address this issue by using new black caulk, without paint. But did not provide the process of how this repair was to be made. In this email, I asked for the following items to be addressed: 1. Have a Sherwin-Williams representative perform a visit the site and examine the caulking and paint and provide a method of repair. 2. Provide both the product names and product numbers for the caulking and paint used. 3. Provide me with a current Certificate of Insurance from Castle Doors prior to any work being performed. On December 8, 2025, email correspondence was issued to the Owner of Castle Doors stating that it had been weeks since my last email requesting Castle Doors repair method for the caulking/paint issues that have occurred on our entry doors, as well as a current Certificate of Insurance from Castle Doors. I asked them to provide this documentation ASAP, so that this work could be scheduled and corrected. A response was provided by the Owner indicating that in his email dated October 31, 2025, requesting confirmation that we wanted Castle Door to proceed with new black caulking. "If you want Castle Doors to proceed, we will schedule this work when we can, making sure the weather is appropriate for caulking". Correspondence was resent asking that Castle Doors provide me with the documentation requested. Upon reviewing the repair method and your Certificate of Insurance, we would be able to schedule this repair using the black caulking. The Owner responded within four minutes of my request stating that "we did not require insurance documentation when Castle Doors installed these doors, so we will not provide that information now". If you choose to use this company, please be sure to get a current certificate of insurance. I asked the owner how he intended to remove what was currently in place and rectify it with new black caulking. Castle Doors response was "there's not much explanation to give". We will use hand tools to remove the existing caulking, and then apply the new, black caulking. I asked that Castle Doors schedule this work ASAP. On December 10, 2025, I received correspondence from Castle Doors stating that it would likely have to be after the first of the year, as we will need it to be a day with temperatures over 50 degrees. Chapter: 4 to follow.
