I have lived in Louisville for 15 years. I have donated regularly to ARC. I find one of the attendants at the donation center to be difficult. Yesterday, I dropped off several good-quality items, but the attendant refused two beach chairs, saying that they were dusty. The chairs are fully functional and in great shape, as they were seldom used. I will consider donating elsewhere. read more

This is the thrift store I visit the most often, so needless to say I like the place well enough. There's usually a nice variety of stuff on offer and it's nice to have a discount every day. However, the prices here are seriously starting to climb beyond reasonability! I've always considered Arc to be the more affordable alternative to the nearby Goodwill but they are starting to be about the same price. On at least a few occasions I or my mom have found a used, non-vintage item priced at above what it goes for brand new. read more

Extremely combative/aggressive donation-acceptance attendant on Saturday, June 28/2025. This is the *third* time this man has made the donation so unpleasant, for different reasons. This past Saturday, he almost didn't take my donation because he wanted it in a plastic garbage bag. I had two brown paper grocery bags, with handles, double-bagged, with lamp hardware & home hardware (e.g. brand new doorstops). Had I placed these items in a plastic bag, they would've torn a hole in plastic bag and the lamp shades would've been crushed when if thrown onto his pile of plastic bags. I'd like to note that this is a new "rule" of his that isn't advertised anywhere by ARC. In addition, there are other thrift stores who kindly request no plastic bags because it doesn't allow clothing to breathe. The past three run-ins with this attendant were all for different reasons, including getting out of my car to open trunk and get donation ready too stressful for him. He needed me to stay in my car until the red stop sign. What's interesting is this past Saturday, he was visibly rude to the couple donating a large truck load in front of me, gesturing wildly with his hands to make them speed it up and forcing them to pull their truck up past the stop sign, "for ease" he said. ARC Lafayette - you need to realize you have a very agitated/angry young man working the very hard shift of donation attendant and he's really not enjoying it and is going to really cause a problem when he lets loose on someone. I will no longer be donating our gently used household items to you anymore because of this. read more

I regularly donate and shop at the Louisville ARC. But I end up leaving without purchasing when I see a long line, one cashier, and the woman who seems to be in charge of cashiers just standing and watching the long line instead of helping or calling another cashier up. this happens regularly and the prices aren't good enough for me to wait 15 minutes in line for a couple items. This was a one time visit to make a donation for an item that I needed to find another "home" for. It was in good condition though not new and bulky, a piece of exercise equipment I could no longer use. I needed the space back and there was not a single place in Boulder still taking this category. Arc Thrift was recommended by the place near my home where I usually donate. This Louisville location was the closest as their Boulder location closed years ago when the property it was on was sold. I called ahead, got directions as I was not familiar with the area or the shopping center it was in. They were very helpful and professional on the phone. It took a while for me to get an arrangement with someone to get it out of the 2nd floor of our house and into one of our vehicles in which it would fit. We called ahead the other day when I finally had someone lined up to help, to see if they had help to unload it at their location. We found the place easily, no line or wait on a weekday morning, and they brought someone out immediately who was very capable of the lift, no damage to it and quite thankful. We were done and on our way in less than 5 minutes. All of the donation area was really was neat and clean and seemed very well organized. A good place if you live nearby or worth the trip for a hard to donate item. And they support a good cause. read more

It's best to go on Saturday with 4 colors on sale but still one on weekdays. The store is clean and workers are always cleaning and answering questions. It is organized and prices are better than goodwill and you can try on things before buying. Books at organized and the check out staff are pleasant. I've been going to Arc in Louisville at 1349 E South Boulder Rd for years. For the last year, 2 of the dressing rooms are unavailable according to staff because faulty locks causes customers get locked in the dressing room. On my last visit this weekend, there were 3 dressing rooms out of commission because of the locks. For God's sake people, get the locks fixed instead of making customers wait 20 minutes to try on clothes! You get your clothes donated for free, unlike other businesses that have to buy products to sell. This is obviously frustrating to staff who have to keep explaining why the rooms aren't available and highly frustrating to customers who don't understand why these rooms can't be used! The staff tell me that management doesn't want to fix the doors. Not a good look on management at all! read more

So this store has really great stuff, I was really excited to see all the great furniture and home decor they had. But then I checked the price tags, and I was honestly shocked at how expensive these items were? Like for example, I like to refinish old furniture, and found this cute small side table that had a ton of scratches and would need a lot of work to get it to look evenly slightly presentable, but would be the perfect project for me. Then I checked the price tag- twenty five dollars?! That's basically how much I had planned to sell it for once I fixed it up! So if you're looking for cool decor items and willing to pay quite a bit of money for them, this is the place for you, but then again you should probably just spend the same amount of money to buy something that's not used? Very good thrift shop, I'm happy to regularly both donate and shop here, particularly children's clothes. The prices are OK regularly, but every Saturday everything that's been there over a week is half price, making it quite good. Definitely a buyer-beware transaction, as you may discover a stain when you get home, but they even take returns for store credit. read more

This is a large thrift store with big selections in every category. There are fitting rooms. This is one of the most expensive thrift stores I've ever been to. Womens tops and dresses were double what I've seen at other thrift stores across many states. Even stained items were at these high prices. I would skip and go to another store. This is a great thrift shop! What I like about it the most is the book section. All the books are in very good condition or better, and the selection is outstanding. Whoever manages this section is doing a wonderful job. Other sections are excellent also. My wife and I have bought a lot of children's clothing and stuffed animals for our granddaughter, clothing for our adult son and daughter, and many housewares. The store is very large and well laid out. Tuesdays are senior discount day, and Saturdays are 50% off most items days. I recommend the ARC highly! read more

I called last week to schedule a furniture donation pick up for tomorrow Jan 7th. I told the person on the phone that was perfect since I'm moving on the 11th. When I called today to confirm, they messed up and scheduled it for the 14th. Person on phone today obviously couldn't care less that they made a mistake and told me there is no way to change it. Now I'm screwed trying to figure out how to get rid of this stuff by the end of the week. Nice stuff too. They could've made $ for the people with disabilities. Really frustrating. So many items to choose from and mostly arranged with common sense, plus it was not too cluttered. The store doesn't have the off-putting smells that many thrift stores have. The merchandise is arranged well and mostly neatly. Most items are clearly marked with a tag or sticker and the prices are what you'd expect at a thrift store. I've been able to find a good coffee mug, 4 nice throw pillows, and a woven basket for my kindling. None of those items were what I came in looking for, but when the chance comes... you'd better take it. read more

This used to be one of the best ARCs around. In the past year it has become the worst. The prices are the highest of all the ARCS I have visited, and the they are ridiculous- $6.99 for a old small plastic basket that is stained that I can get for new for about $2, $8.99 for a single cup and saucer, $78 for an old picture with a scratched up frame, $14 for a worn out stained shirt, etc, etc. It used to be well-stocked and organized with good pricing, and now it looks like it is going out of business. Someone needs to remember this is a THRIFT STORE and all the items are used and have been donated. I can find things that are new for a cheaper price in a store. The ARC in Broomfield is well-stocked and the prices are about half the ones in this location, so I think it is a management problem. I won't even donate here anymore. What a shame. read more

Such a great place! This location always feels clean and organized. Good stuff almost always! I love coming by, weekly they have new and Good stuff. And its supports a great cause too. I'm Updating my review because having been going here for almost a year I'm noticing the prices on merchandise is so random and strange. There's been reproduced art work from like target for 90$ and then a legit brand large camping towel probably worth 30-40$ for 1$. I'm saying the pricing doesn't make sense. Seriously many unoriginal artwork pieces are as much or more than couches. And nobrabd dresses can be 15-20$ ... I can get a brand new dress at target for 20-25$ I might as well go there. Anyway, place gets good things and always better than local goodwills (not sure what happened to them) but wish whoever is pricing is looking at what they're really doing. read more

This was one of the worst jobs I have had.The pay is horrible and the management is poor. The owner dosen't care about employees or he would pay the employees better offer better benefits . I got Great reviews from customers and worked hard. In a year in a half did not recieve a raise. Most the employees there are making middle wage with no chance of advancement. With covid. Almost ever week employees would call out from either being exposed to covid or had it. The store is not sanitized well enough. and it being a non- profit business you would think that the prices would not go up as much as they have. They have!!!So glad I found a better job with a better company and a boss that treats employees equal and fair. This Arc is high priced with few employees cause anyone they hire new in the last year Quite!!! That should tell the owner something. So to the Arc thrift store in Louisville,co. Please appreciate your employees you have and care about the effect it's having on families that they have and need to feed and pay there bills. Also the theft is horrible at this location. The Arc does nothing. Putting employees in danger. When asked manager what to do . They just tell us. Do nothing. I use to think Arc thrift store was good business. Now I know its not. Only thing i will miss is the AWESOME customers that would always tell me how much the appreciate me and how hard I worked. An extremely messy place, and I am pretty sure there WAS PEE IN THE AISLE yesterday. Of course I can not be 100% sure, but we all have a pretty good idea what pee looks like on the floor. Disgusting. I went yesterday and it was in tip top shape! I've been to many arcs and this location was by far the cleanest. Everything was organized and spaced out to prevent clusters of people. There was no excessive dust or dirt anywhere -- I was genuinely impressed. Also, the floors were sooo clean and free of clutter/fallen items. Inside smelled like freshly baked cookies?!! The clothes were color coordinated with few messy hangers/clothes on the ground. In light of our current pandemic, the cleanliness of the store allowed for a sense of ease and safety to me and fellow shoppers. Excellent job!!! read more

I am a self proclaimed thrift store junkie! My son and I often go what we like to call "treasure hunting". While living in CA we went to our favorite places, having gone enough to know which seemed to carry the best of ....and rarely came home empty handed. Having recently moved to CO, one of the first things I did was look for thrift stores, not many close to me, at least ones that rivaled what I had in CA. Then one Saturday, as we were driving around, happened upon this one! And WHAT A GREAT find!!! Not only a big, open area...but SO organized...and on Sat. most tags are 50% off!! I was giddy! I really like to shop here on Saturdays when it's half off day for 4 of the color tags. However, because of it being half price day the place tends to be a zoo of course. I love this thrift store and I've found great deals. Their art section usually contains hidden gems and I've found high quality kitchen and other household items for cheap. As others have mentioned, they have plenty of overpriced goods. It seems like certain items have a set price regardless of quality and brand. As far as the employees go, keep in mind the purpose of the store. Dig deep down and practice patience and compassion.
