This cute Boulder thrift is a huge improvement from a prior location and name on Spruce. If you are looking for some new duds they are set pricing for all ( like clothes and shoes $1.99) with very few exceptions. They have a selection of furniture, housewares ,office stuff and assorted sundries at a fraction of other thrift stores . This thrift store has a great mission and a very passionate owner, but the merch for sale, while priced great, is very middling. I agree with other reviewers, you don't get the joy of treasure hunting here due to anything of value being pulled for eBay. I don't begrudge that, given their admirable fundraising goals, but it does take some fun out of it. Their hours are also difficult, I work in Boulder and try not to make a special trip in on weekends, but their weekday hours end at 5 p.m. I want to support them and admire what they're doing, but they are hard to get to and not as fun to visit as other Boulder thrift stores unfortunately. read more

The folks here are nice and the prices are good, but the store offerings are lackluster. You will *never* find a "hidden" treasure here because they have mostly (if not all), been gleaned out by the staff and listed on eBay. The regular customers coming to the brick & mortar storefront get the ordinary stuff you can find at any old thrift store in the U.S. It would be great if the eBay items were also behind the counter for us to see/buy, though most customers would be surprised by the very high prices they've put on these items. I realize that renting space and paying staff costs $$, but the delineation of the good stuff to eBay and the regular stuff to the store front seems funky at some level. See for yourself at: "Pig & Pearl Online" on eBay. I know this is a model that other places like Goodwill or Tru Hospice Thrift Store have also adopted, but these places do not put 100% of the good stuff on auction sites. Finding a way to be more transparent about your stock on eBay (with some stuff behind the counter, or perhaps a notebook w/ pages of the offerings) and clearer information about the amount donated to animal-based causes would go a long way. read more

This morning we arrived at the Pig and Pearl a few minutes early. (we were in the handicap space) We sat in the car with the air conditioner on (it was in the 90's) Two women were loading large items into the store at this time (it was obvious we were waiting for the store to open). At 12:00 we got out of the car and went in behind the two women. The woman said "we're not open today". I said "well you could have told us". She said, you were pumping f**ing exhaust into the air for 'my' volunteer worker. We were both shocked at her response. Class act! In our 32 years of being in the retail business we have never treated our customers this way. In our opinion this is not a customer friendly store, we won't be back. read more

This was my first and last time in the store. One of the owners was rude and snippy when I asked a question about the pricing as I was a little confused. When I mentioned this to someone else there, she was also rude to me in defense of her friend. I don't think this store is for me as the customers service was kind of unfriendly. read more

I'm not sure how this store has such a high rating or why their photos show rows and rows of clothing. I went there today and options were so low, it felt like they were going out of business. The storefront sign is so hard to spot, you'll likely drive past. There was garbage lying right in front of the door and employees walked right past. A real let down. read more
