From A to Z-or shall I say A to XX (double Excellent) my experience with Dr. Axx and his entire team of Dental Assistants and staff exceeded my expectations! During my initial phone call with Erica, and follow up with Aileen, I knew I had connected with a top notch practice, Arcadia Endodontics. I, like most people, do not like dental work but I had done my research when I was told by my dentist that I may need a root canal. I first consulted a friend, whose opinions I value greatly. She recommended Dr. Axx highly. After reading online reviews I felt comfortable moving forward with Dr. Axx. My consultation appointment with Dr. Axx and his assistant Carol confirmed the positive reviews. Carol is like a big warm (virtual) hug and immediately calmed my fears. Dr. Axx's calm, confident expertise cemented my decision. Tona assisted Dr. Axx with the root canal and her upbeat personality and teamwork with Dr. Axx was a well oiled machine. Throughout the whole process from beginning to end, Dr. Axx listened intently to my concerns and difficulty with getting numb. He expertly administered the local anesthesia and I was pain free. Normally with dental procedures, the extra dosing of anesthesia can leave me numb for well over 24 hours. Within several hours feeling had returned and I was fully functional with minimal pain. Dr. Axx truly has the magic touch as this is the FIRST time I have not been inconvenienced due to extended numbness. Thank you Dr. Axx! Dr. Axx has been my primary endodontist since moving to Phoenix a year ago, I couldn't be happier with my choice. Although I don't have to go in for treatment often, every time I have been seen in the office it has been exceptionally easy for me, from billing to scheduling appointments. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with. You do not have to wait for more than about 10 minutes and they can usually get you in for an appointment within a couple business days. I'm surprised this group does not pop up in your high end recommends. I googled them, picked them with over 60 reviews, all five stars. It is my personal belief you are not serving your clients well not to include them in your reviews. They do not "pop up" in inquiries, yet they receive 5 stars from all who rate them. Why is that????? I picked them because they popped up on google as "highly recommend". Where a previous "endodontist" had tried four times to fine my over calcified root unsuccessfully, Dr. Axx thoroughly evaluated me, and then did the procedure successfully. What a wonderful experience for a root canal!!! Everyone is so very friendly and helpful! Dr. Axx was such a gentleman and explained everything in such detail. I really appreciate how the Endodontists at this practice have gone out of their way to offer the new root canal procedure, the Gentle Wave. My ND recommended them due to my history of autoimmune disease and chronic pain because of her experience clinically with some root canal teeth becoming a trigger for autoimmune flares in certain cases. The Gentle Wave is an advancement in cleaning the root canal tooth which lowers the risk for that tooth becoming a source of infection. I'm so thankful this new procedure was available. I'm relieved to have had this option to lessen my chances of creating a possible trigger for my now in remission autoimmune disease to flare back up simply by getting a root canal. Dr. Chatanoff was a pleasure to work with as was the entire staff. Thanks again to everyone at Arcadia Endodontics for your wonderful skills. read more

I arrived early for my appointment so I could complete my paperwork, which took about ten minutes. I then sat in the waiting room for about another 30 minutes before being shown to an exam room. First time I've ever been in a dentist's office with a view. Very nice. The assistant told me she was going to take some X-rays. I told her I had X-rays and a CT scan sent over from my other dentist and she told me they needed some "special angles". I asked if she had seen my X-rays and she finally said no, she had not. That's called churning. Legitimate fees I'm happy to pay, but don't stick me for an extra $100 that I don't need to be paying. After waiting another 35 minutes with no sign of the doctor and no explanation for why I had been waiting for 75 minutes for a 10:30 appointment I left. The Dr probably knew at 10:00 that he was running late, why not be proactive and give me a call? Or how about an update while I'm waiting? read more

This is my second root canal in 5 months, and my first with Dr. Axx. Arcadia Endodontics felt like a spa! Aroma therapy in every room, the chairs all had massage functionality, and the environment overall is inviting. The staff is incredibly warm, patient, and incredibly compassionate. Dr. Axx himself has a very reassuring and calming, yet professional and very knowledgeable demeanor. He finished my root canal very quickly, explained everything, and he (not a staff member) just called me to check in and see how I was feeling. Most providers nowadays barely have time to speak with you in the office, let alone are willing to take the time to personally check in with patients after the treatment. Did I mention that they fit me into his schedule an hour after I called? Could not recommend Arcadia Endodontist or Dr. Axx any more highly! read more

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Axx. He walked me the through the whole root canal process and executed it perfectly along with his lovely assistant. I did the Gentle Wave procedure and had absolutely ZERO pain during or after the procedure, didn't even need ibuprofen. Highly recommend coming here if you're nervous about a root canal. read more

This is another one of those great practices. Dr. Axx performed two root canals and the experience better than any other I have had. He personally calls to check on you and that is the mark of a doctor who has your best dental health in mind. I have learned a lot with maturity and reliance on other diagnostic tests can come back to haunt aany doctor or dentist, and it is better for them to rely on their own testing. A specialist is often required and I have seen at least 3 for the issues to fix my upper arch properly and the cost will approach $50K and I'd rather have paid for the extra testing and office visits up front and had it done right. This is an amazingly gifted doctor with a great practice. read more

I recently was experiencing severe tooth pain in a back molar. Since I was on vacation I was just planning to use ibuprofen until I got home, but the pain was too much to bear. Dr. Axx and his staff took me in on short notice, on a holiday, and worked on me through their dinner hour! Dr. found that I had an infected root and he did an excellent root canal. I have had no pain at all, completely fixed! The staff and Dr. treated me so kindly, and did such an incredible job fixing my tooth.
