Just the best group of people! I went for a retreatment of a previous root canal from a different endo. This was a tough one but the doctor and his assistant were really wonderful. They kept me distracted and entertained with their chat diring the morning news, they checked on me often and gave me choices on whether to continue or come back to finish the treatment. I will go back for sure if I ever need another root canal or treatment. I'm hoping I don't but I know where I'm going if I do.

    Waiting to be called in.

I was looking for an endodontist who does the "Gentle Wave" procedure. Fortunately, Dr. Thompson is local for me and at the initial consultation, I was glad I chose this office. He takes the time to explain everything, including what to expect, as well as the procedure while he's working on you (such as how far along he is/how much longer), which is nice. His staff and assistants are very professional as well and help ease any anxiety with their friendly demeanor. Their website has everything you need before and after your visit. I highly recommend the Gentle Wave procedure to ensure optimal cleansing through the interior of the tooth. I just had my first follow up and those results validated my decision to do this GW procedure with Dr. Thompson. I was impressed by everything, particularly the diagnostic imaging, the follow up and monitoring and the flat screen TV on the ceiling (nice touch!) I have forwarded his name to several contacts already. Hopefully I won't need another root canal but if I do, I would travel any distance to return to this practice. Thank you, Litchfield Endodontics!

I went there not knowing. They got me in quick because I was in pain. Michael P. Thompson and the Assistant Melanie did an outstanding job. He was very patient and very kind and made the whole scenario painless. The Staff was very nice up front too. It was a pleasant experience.

!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!…read more After posting my review, I spent time reading through many of the other patient reviews that I had not previously seen. What I found was genuinely concerning. Although every patient's experience is different, I noticed recurring themes spanning multiple years, not just one or two isolated complaints. Numerous patients described unexpected charges, insurance verification issues, difficulties obtaining documentation, poor communication, inconsistent billing information, lack of follow-up, and feeling left without clear answers. Reading those reviews made me realize that my concerns regarding financial transparency and documentation may not be as isolated as I initially hoped. For that reason, I believe it is important for prospective patients to do their research before committing to treatment. Read the reviews carefully. Ask questions. Request copies of your financial estimate, treatment plan, insurance verification, and any documentation supporting your financial responsibility before authorizing treatment. I also continue to await the documentation I requested regarding my own account. If the office remains unwilling or unable to provide the records necessary to explain how my additional balance was determined, I will be filing formal complaints with the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners and requesting that my insurance carrier review the insurance verification and billing process associated with my treatment. Transparency should never be optional when patients are making financial decisions involving thousands of dollars.

Buyer Beware: Get EVERYTHING in Writing Before Agreeing to Treatment…read more I never thought I would be writing a review like this, but after my experience, I feel other patients deserve to know what happened so they can protect themselves. In August 2025, I paid $2,387 through CareCredit after being presented with my treatment plan and financial estimate for a tooth extraction and implant. I relied on the financial information provided by the office when deciding to move forward with treatment. Months later, after my implant treatment had already been completed, I received an unexpected phone call informing me that I now owed an additional $570 because the office claimed MetLife had originally told them my implant would be covered, but later denied the claim since my tooth extraction had been completed under my previous insurance (Aetna). When I asked for the representative's name, reference number, or any documentation from the insurance verification call that supposedly confirmed my coverage, I was told they did not have any of it. As someone who works in Patient Access within Surgical Services at a hospital, that immediately raised concerns for me. In my profession, insurance verification is documented with the representative's name, reference number, date, and details of the conversation. That documentation protects both the patient and the provider. If there is ever a dispute, the insurance company can often locate the recorded call using that information. Here, I was simply told to trust that the insurance company gave incorrect information, but no documentation could be provided to support that claim. What disappointed me even more was being told that I should direct my frustration toward the insurance company rather than the office. I disagree. While insurance companies certainly make mistakes, I also expect a healthcare office handling thousands of dollars in treatment to maintain complete documentation of insurance verification before asking a patient to proceed. If the verification was documented properly, there should be evidence of who was spoken to and what was said. Without that, how is a patient supposed to determine what actually happened? I also requested copies of my treatment plan, insurance claims, Explanation of Benefits (EOB), denial information, payment history, and insurance verification documentation. I was told these records would be sent to me, but I never received them. When I attempted to follow up, I was unable to speak with the same billing representative again. This experience has left me questioning the level of financial transparency provided before treatment. Patients should never have to wonder months later whether the amount they were told to pay was actually accurate. My advice to anyone considering treatment here: * Ask for copies of your treatment plan and financial estimate before signing anything. * Request written documentation of insurance verification if your treatment depends on insurance coverage. * Ask detailed questions about what happens if insurance later denies the claim. * Keep copies of every document and every payment you make. I sincerely hope my situation was an isolated incident, but I believe patients deserve complete financial transparency before making decisions involving thousands of dollars. I am still waiting for documentation explaining how this balance arose before I can determine whether the additional charge is justified.

When I questioned it, I was given multiple conflicting explanations--first that my insurance hadn't paid, then that insurance checks hadn't been cashed, and later that the payments were only for future work. After contacting my insurance directly, I was able to confirm that checks had already been issued, received, and cashed by the office. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the process turned into months of back-and-forth where I had to repeatedly prove that I was being overcharged. During this time, I was treated rudely, and the office manager, Celina, even made an inappropriate and offensive comment implying I had a mental learning disability. Eventually, after all the evidence was presented multiple times, they corrected the overcharge--but by then the damage was done. My implant was left incomplete, and I now have to go to another dentist to finish the work. This entire experience was stressful, frustrating, and completely avoidable. I would not recommend this office to anyone. Save yourself the time, money, and hassle.

Instead, he was told he had multiple major dental issues and was presented with a treatment plan involving a tooth extractions, crowns, and several other procedures totaling thousands of dollars out-of-pocket -- even after insurance. The whole experience felt rushed and very high-pressure. Before agreeing to anything, we decided to get a second opinion later that same day. The other dentist told us that his teeth were nowhere near as bad as described. He did not need any extractions or crowns -- just a deep cleaning and possibly one or two small fillings. Our total with insurance at the second office was $10, not thousands. After reading through Yelp reviews later, we noticed a lot of people mentioning that this place seems extremely profit-driven -- and that absolutely matched our experience. We understand that treatment opinions can vary, but the drastic difference here was alarming. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to anything at this office.
