Everyone was SO kind and always went above and beyond (except one...but I think she was new and didn't quite understand the vibe of the place yet). I have an INTENSE fear of the dentist, let alone a periodontist. Just the thought of going was enough to make me shake and feel sick. But once there, and in the chair, everyone was great. I asked them to explain everything in great detail, and they did. That was really nice. From there, things were surprisingly smooth. When I had questions after...even weeks or months later, they were highly responsive and patient. Unfortunately, I am not able to continue with the implant process with them. They only use titanium implants and I have a sensitivity to titanium (I strongly encourage biocompatibility testing prior to any device doing into your body). So, this is where I leave them. Ann at the front desk is so lovely and caring and patient whether on the phone or in person! Dr Chandrakeerthi performed tooth extraction and bone grafting a few months ago and yesterday placed the implant. He is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate and thoroughly explained the procedure each time and answered all my questions. There's nothing fun about getting a tooth extraction, but Dr. Chirdeep Chandrakeerthi ('Dr. C') made the process so pleasant, I would highly recommend Dr. C and Periodontal Specialists. From scheduling the appointment to receiving my post-surgery instructions, the entire staff was so friendly and helpful - and when you're nervous, that really helps to ease your worries. Nicole was a literal angel, can't even describe how much her upbeat attitude and words of encouragement helped me though a challenging procedure. As I write this, it has been two days since my extraction, and I'm very grateful for Dr. C's expertise in handling my tooth removal. He was so calm and relaxed during times I was not, and his calmness really helped to put me at ease. Plus, I have to say I still have yet to feel any significant pain, both during and after the procedure (some very minor discomfort from stitches settling in, but that's about it). So as long as you follow their guidelines about the medicine you need to take post-procedure, as well as the tips they provide (like what not to eat, how to clean mouth, etc.), it goes surprisingly well and, dare I say, virtually pain free (granted, still not fun, but they do a great job of helping you avoid any major pain). I will be back in a few months to get the implant and then a few more months after that for the crown. So while getting an extraction is definitely not something anyone looks forward to, have to say, Dr. C and the team make it a really good experience. read more

I was referred to this office by my dentist, who I think is great. Unfortunately, this office is not. I scheduled a consultation in December, and received a voicemail the morning of my appointment to let me know that the Dr. was running late, and asking if I could come to the office three hours later than scheduled. Sure, no problem. Upon arriving at the later time, I waited in the lobby area for nearly 20 minutes and then in the dentist chair for another 20 before actually being seen by the Dr. for less than 10 minutes. That should have been a red flag... Fast foward to today. I have a 9:30 appointment. After waiting in the lobby for nearly 20 minutes (see a theme here?) I am told the Dr. is running behind and would not be able to see me until noon. NOON! Really? You couldn't have called and told me that? Or told me when I arrived ON TIME for my appointment? I entered his office the day of the procedure with fear and trepidation, as I had a very bad experience with a different periodontal surgeon a few years ago. I'm writing a review for my 78 year old grandmother Susan B. Who unfortunately is unable to figure the internet out and how to write a review so I will be her voice and I will advocate for her. A few days ago my grandmother had a consultation with dr. Lewis Robinson. Might I add she's been going to him for awhile and has only ever spoken highly of him. Unfortunately this was not the case this time. My grandmother was waiting for 40 plus minutes past her scheduled time finally when dr. Robinson came in she stated she was about to leave because she was tired, He responded to her with an attitude and said well you tell me what dentist your going to go to and not wait. She stayed quiet and then Said I'm not sure if your having a bad day or maybe I did something to offend you or hurt your feeing but I'm sorry if I did. Dr Robinson turned to my grandmother and blatantly told her verbatim "F*** you". Dr. Robinson your abhorrent behavior was absolutely unjustified and I hope this isn't a commonality in how you treat your patients because it's disgusting and disturbing. I'm in the process of helping my grandmother file a complaint with the AZ state board of dental examiners. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how pain free and smoothly my gum surgery with Dr Barget went. I was expecting to be in extreme pain-this according to a few friends who had the surgery previously done by another periodontist. However, my experience was quite the opposite. I took it easy the day of the surgery and followed Dr Barget's post operative care instructions. The following day I had no swelling and very little discomfort. I was able to go about my normal weekend activities. I am now about a month post-op and all healed. Dr Barget and his office were extremely professional and caring. I am not a good dental patient by any means. I am nervous and jumpy in the chair. So when I was referred to Dr. Barget for gum grafts I was petrified. Dr. Barget was calming and professional from minute one that he entered the room. I was originally on a waiting list for an appointment -- I took that he was booked 6 weeks in advance as a good sign --- and was called by his appointment coordinator after 2 weeks for my appointment. Dr. Barget's assistant was so sweet and prepped me for my IV sedation. When I awoke from the surgery, it was 3 hours later but it felt like 5 minutes. I had 3 quadrants of gum grafting done. Dr. Barget followed up with me that night, the next day and 1 week after surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Barget and his team. I took my 90 yr old mother in to see Dr Barget today to have a tooth pulled. After an exam, he explained to me that he did not want to pull the tooth because it would severely reduce the number of teeth on which my mother would be able to chew her food. He showed me that the tooth could be saved with a careful reworking of her old fillings, and he referred us to a dentist who can do this reconstruction work for about the same cost as pulling the tooth. This is the third time that my mother or another family member has seen Dr Barget. He is gentle, caring, ethical and extremely competent. And there was no charge. Not only did I get an absolutely beautiful result but his expert direction in my overall treatment made a tremendous difference in my case.
