We had to replace our washer/dryer stack unit and the new Speed Queen unit was several inches…read moretaller than my old Maytag unit. So we had to remove a cabinet that was above the Maytag unit. I spoke to Kristin Hochstetter and asked for assistance in possibly shortening our cabinet or ordering a new one. The issue we faced is that the Speed Queen was not only taller, but it also required a 6" clearance above the dryer, leaving a much smaller space for a cabinet. It didn't make sense to have a 6" tall cabinet. Kurt Sauser (co-owner) followed up and provided suggestions on what we could do to cover up the area above the dryer with a wood panel, painted with a color to match the adjacent cabinetry since the original color was discontinued. I appreciate both Kristin's and Kurt's professional and courteous assistance even though it did not result in any business for them. If you ever have a need for kitchen/bath design, we would recommend DK&B.
