Our experience with Big Bend Landscaping left much to be desired. Our initial outdoor living space…read moreproject last year took over 6 months for completion. We accepted their proposal in June 2024, making a large deposit for the project to begin. Yet we struggled to get any kind of a project timeline from them and had difficulty getting timely responses. Finally in early November 2024, the project was completed but unfortunately the space couldn't really be used given the weather. In March of this year, we contacted Big Bend Landscaping to inquire about the patio pavers being discolored. After multiple visits by Big Bend Landscaping and representatives from Belgard, we were informed that the pavers were defective and the entire patio needed replacing. We agreed to have the work start in August and we were advised that to ensure no other discrepancies, a supervisor would be onsite the entire time with the crew. In summary, this did not occur. Pavers were delivered without their presence. The following day, the laborers began dismantling the old patio, without supervision, loading huge amounts of pavers into their dump truck, causing multiple cracks to our new concrete driveway. We immediately informed Big Bend Landscaping and were advised that they would either repair or replace the two concrete pads - whatever we wanted them to do. However, when it came time to address it, we were advised that the owner, Joe Francke, refused to pay to have the concrete replaced and that they were not responsible for any damage to our property. Instead, they attempted to repair the cracks which made it look even worse. See the attached photos. We have attempted to communicate with Big Bend Landscaping on this decision and provided them with a quote from our concrete company. However, as was the case with our entire engagement with Big Bend Landscaping, the current owner elects not to respond. There are far too many landscaping companies in the St. Louis area that would love to earn your business and treat you with professional courtesy. This is not one of them.

I feel like we were more than gracious when the quartz countertop for the bar was put in wrong, because NO ONE from Colonel was there when it was installed incorrectly. We figured out a solution (not ideal, but ok) so they would not have to redo the entire bar. The crew left a ditch witch behind my garage door over a weekend, along with boards and open paint that I actually backed over more than once. Sloppy, no respect for our property whatsoever. After less than a year the patio pavers needed attention once again. My husband and myself texted the owner and crickets...we had to hire a different company to come and repair it. We had high hopes, but really disappointed.
