When someone says "please keep my eyebrows thick" that doesn't mean reshape them two different ways and take off way more hair than necessary. My eyebrows (or should I say eyebrow, I'll get to that later) Have never been this thin in my life. I'm so upset. Now on top of that, my brows are now two different shapes, two different thicknesses and just totally off. As soon as I was done I went over to Sephora to drop about $20 on a ABH brow pencil to hopefully fix this monstrosity. Plus, she is a license cosmetologist and teaches the women on staff. A win all the way around! They offer an array of threading services and Henna. Best of all, they have great lighting so you know they can actually see what they are doing and you can, too. Last time I was there they had also added a quaint display of scarves, bracelets and more. You can even get child sized jewelry! Walk-ins are welcome -I actually don't know if they take appointments. This is probably the worst eyebrow threading experience I've ever had! I told the woman to keep my brows the same shape, just clean up the excess hair around it... she ended up giving me a chola arch and super skinny brows! I'm PISSED! Not only that, it was super slow. She pulls the brow hairs out with the thread extremely slowly...making sure u feel every pain and pull. Absolutely Awful! My brows were $10 for a clean up but my husband's were $12. Why is there a difference???? We both were just getting brow clean ups. Absolute joke of a place. The girl was flirtatious with my husband too...did not like that. read more

Located inside colonie mall this has been my eyebrow threading rock since I moved to Albany. When I first moved to Albany I was concerned, not knowing if I would be able to find a good place to groom my brows. I was fortunate enough to find Arch Threading about 1 month into living in Albany, and I'm so glad I did. I've been going there for 4 years now and haven't had any significant moments of horror and certainly no brow-emergencies. Sure there's been a minor mishap or 2- no one's perfect- but nothing significantly scarring. The staff is always friendly and efficient. There can be a bit of a wait depending on how many people are ahead of you but usually not more than 15 min and once you get on the chair, the ladies are like brow threading ninjas- 5 min absolute max. Sara and Yogi are my expert threaders- relatively painless, quick and always reliable. All essential qualities when you need something done on a regular basis. And if you're a frequent flyer- which if you do any type of grooming like this you're bound to be- they offer a punch card which gets you $5 off after 5 threads. They also offer facial and upper lip threading as well as other services, however, I can't comment since I have not used these. read more

I'm back home visiting my family, and didn't get a chance to get my eyebrows done before I hit the road. So, I ended up packing my Nads DIY eyebrow kit, fully prepared to tackle these Groucho Marx-esque (sp) things growing above my eyes. Fast forward to black Friday, my cousin says "I know a place that does great threading." I was a tad skeptical since I always get my grooming done back in MD or DC. But I tried it and they did a wonderful job! It wasn't as painful as past threading experiences and my eyebrows are SNATCHED hunty! My aunt and little cousin even decided to give it a first time try and were very pleased with the results. Love it here, my go to place when I need to tame my brows! Ever since I started getting threaded, I would never go back to waxing. Yes, it's somewhat painful, but so is waxing. The lines are crisp and there is no sticky residue left on your face. The ladies working are always friendly and you can't beat $10 to get your brows done. Downgrading one star only because if they are busy, and only have one person working, you can end up waiting a while. read more

I have been there twice before and the experience has been good. This last time I threaded my eyebrows and waxed my upper lips. The eyebrows came out uneven. Next, I saw that the lady had taken off a decent patch of skin while doing the waxing. This was very noticeable the next morning since it looked like a badly burnt patch of skin above my lips. I can even accept that the skin can sometimes come off during waxing, but should the therapist not apply any antibiotic or skin healing lotion? I don't know if this patch will even out anytime in the near future. Needless to say, I abhor voluntarily scarring my body and face in particular. I find my latest experience absolutely not satisfying and I would not come back here even if someone paid me to do so. read more

I went here 2 times the first time I really liked my experience. I don't remember who did my eyebrows but she did a great job. The second time I went there I signed in and there was a line of 4 people in front of me and came back 10 minutes later. I came back to see 1 person before waiting so I sat down. Then some lady came in and just sat down she did not sign in or anything. I just waited my turn. The girl who was threading took the girl who just sat down. I told her I signed in she said you left, so she is next. I said she didn't sign in she said yes but she is next because you left. Never again will I go there!!!! read more
