    No thinning eyebrows here ;)
    Chantelle L.

I came here to this location yesterday and met Nisha. She was so friendly to begin with and I found the store in Latham very easily. I got on as soon as I could after work around 4:30 and was done around 5. Her threading technique is great she shaped my eyebrows and was a delight. My husband is coming along next time, her technique was not painful and she took care of the job very nicely.

My eyebrows (or should I say eyebrow, I'll get to that later) Have never been this thin in my life. I'm so upset. Now on top of that, my brows are now two different shapes, two different thicknesses and just totally off. As soon as I was done I went over to Sephora to drop about $20 on a ABH brow pencil to hopefully fix this monstrosity. Getting my brows threaded never hurts me, except for this time due to her taking off way too much. Don't go here unless you want your brows to be very very distant cousins.

Now, not too many people want to endure the joy of hair removal. For those brave souls that do, we know that a skilled artist is necessary. Sara and a couple others at Arch are exactly this. I started out at Just Threading in Crossgates but after a few times of being cut and having broken hairs I moved on. I prefer to see the owner because she knows exactly what I am there for and she is quick -a feat considering I have thick curly hair that most threaders fear. Plus, she is a license cosmetologist and teaches the women on staff. A win all the way around! They offer an array of threading services and Henna. Best of all, they have great lighting so you know they can actually see what they are doing and you can, too. Last time I was there they had also added a quaint display of scarves, bracelets and more. You can even get child sized jewelry! Walk-ins are welcome -I actually don't know if they take appointments. Ha! If they are busy, just grab a seat and enjoy the music. *You'll know it by the vibrant orange walls, welcoming decor and upbeat music. Oh, and by the TV showing you what threading is! ===Tip for newbies: Be clear about what you want done and make sure they understand and agree, too.

It was tough enough to find a new "botox girl" after relocating from San Francisco to Brooklyn but…read morethe real challenge was finding one after COVID-19 landed me working remotely in a farm house upstate. I was convinced I may have to live with my forehead as-is and began an impressive collection of hats. Enter Kelly. I actually came across their IG and almost wrote it off as too good to be true: experienced, multiple accolades AND up-to-date communication with clients through social channels (with a sense of humor to boot.) I had my first appointment with Kelly about a week ago and can confirm she and her team are as good as they seem. *Detailed consultation with personalized recommendations and thorough explanation of treatment plan: check *Demonstrated knowledge of injectables and facial muscle composition/patterns: check *COVID-19 precautions: check check check, inclusive of temperature reading prior to entering and contact tracing. HUGE plus. *Bedside manner: this isn't a must-have for me, I'm more of a 'ends justify the means' when it comes to injectables and prioritize competency over conversation but Kelly's personality was too good not to mention, plus a huge perk to anybody new to the scene who could use a little comfort! Highly personable, funny, professional and visibly skilled at her craft. *Results: We all know this is what you've read this far for. 10/10. I had even asked about a particular injection site and it's contribution to my desired results and learned something new. I achieved some of my favorite results with less units than with my previous provider. TL;DR So yeah - this is the spot.

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. UNLAWFULLY OPERATED…read more The practice is run by a Physician Assistant (PA), but New York State law clearly states that PAs must work under the supervision of a licensed physician. When I asked to speak with their Medical Director, I was told they didn't have one. (Article 131-B of the New York Education Law governs the practice of physician assistants in the state.) The injector GiGi performed unauthorized treatments, including injecting Botox into my gummy lines--something I never requested or approved. When I returned to address the poor results, the PA had to step in to sternly direct the injector to only use half an injection to fix the Spock brow I had been left with. Despite these efforts, the results were far from satisfactory. My appearance resembled what can only be described as a "serial killer" smile. (See below pictures) They also convinced me to choose a "lip flip" instead of lip fillers, claiming it would help "quiet my facial muscles" before injections. It's unclear whether the resulting smile was caused by the lip flip or the unauthorized gummy line injections, but the outcome has been devastating. Even three months later, my smile is still not back to normal, despite being told that the effects would wear off quickly. The dismissive attitude that mistakes don't matter because "Botox wears off" is unacceptable. If a procedure's effects last for months, the least they can do is get it right the first time. Another alarming issue is their lack of transparency. While consent and waiver forms are uploaded to the online portal, they fail to include any documentation of the injection sites. This omission feels deliberate, and it makes me question what they might be trying to hide. On a personal level, this experience ruined what should have been a joyful time. I had just returned from a 10-month military deployment and was looking forward to reuniting with my loved ones. I wanted to look refreshed and less stressed, but instead, I ended up feeling self-conscious and unattractive. I even asked my boyfriend to delay proposing because I didn't want to look this way in engagement photos. It's heartbreaking that such a special moment had to be put on hold because of their carelessness. The staff assured me that what happened to me was rare and that the effects would subside quickly. However, after extensive research, I found only one similar case online, which confirms that my experience is far from normal.
