I come here regularly for my eyebrow threading and it's always a satisfactory experience. Found this shop on happenstance when in the area one day and it's now my regular. Im not from upstate NY, and extremely picky about who touches my brows. I was hesitant to try someone locally when there are so many options in NYC but decided to give Reema a chance. Wow. She is great. She's been my go to while in Albany and I highly recommend her. As per COVID concerns, she is strict about taking precautions and does not put the thread in her mouth while threading. She wraps it around her neck instead. She offers other services as well (waxing is with a roller not with popsicle sticks). But have only gotten my eyebrows threaded with her. I just want to add that I'm a bit obnoxious and picky about places that I go to, but Reema is truly great. She is the owner and the ONLY one there so you know you'll always get a great job done. read more

I got my eyebrows done here. The lady, who I assume was the owner, was very nice! I told her I have sensitive skin and so she used a special wax on me and wanted to know what lotions work best for my sensitive skin. Most importantly however, she did a great job on my eyebrows. Normally, people do my eye brows too thin and it takes about a week after for my brows to be how I like them but she did them perfectly! read more

Extremely clean, the lady greeted us as soon as we walked in and immediately started on our eyebrows. She is very polite and nice, also very professional. I like that she asked if I wanted Lotion after my threading instead of just slapping it on. Also, she gives recommendations on your eyebrows and asks questions about them, and the shape you want instead of doing her own thing. I highly recommend this place and I will be back. I recently moved to the area and did a lot of research, and I ended up finding this place on Yelp, and the reviews do NOT disappoint. Reema is very, very thorough and is very talented - I am blessed (?) with super thick, bold eyebrows and I hate trying new places because one of my worst fears is someone screwing them up and then having to walk around with the consequences. Reema, however, did better than just maintaining the current shape; she actually shaped my eyebrows even better than they were and made them more even. The first time I went to her, she left a few "lines" for them to grow in, which they did beautifully and she did the same again. I drive 25 min to go see her, but SO worth it! read more

I came to this salon based on the few but gleaming reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Immediately on walking in I was greeted pleasantly by Reema, who threaded my full face and had immaculate attention to detail. She took her time (but didn't take forever), and went back several times to make sure she didn't forget spots and to clean up any remaining spots. This was also one of the less painful threading experiences. What I'd like to highlight especially is how focused Reema was. Even when other customers came in, I didn't feel like she was rushing, and she never interrupted her work to answer her phone or a text, etc, which was great. My brows were done well, not too thin which is what I wanted and shaped naturally. I usually break out or get major redness bumps after threading but so far so good. Overall Reema was pleasant, thorough, and good at her work. I'd come back again! read more

I decided to try Shapes because it's not too far from my job and I couldn't wait to make an appointment at my usual spot. The girl that works there (sorry, I can't remember her name and this was a few weeks ago now) is super sweet and professional. The only thing is that she works there alone. Although she does keep her clients moving, I think she may do better with appointments until she can get someone else in there with her. First time getting my eyebrows threaded. I have very thin, very sparse, and very blonde eyebrows. This means I usually let my eyebrows go 4-6 months between doing anything with them. I have gotten them waxed in the back but I had the redness that doesn't go away for a few days afterwards so I started looking into threading. I am new to this area and found this studio through Yelp. I made an appointment online (love this!) for the next day. Theading does it take longer than waxing because it only pulls a few hairs out at a time but it is less painful. The only part that I really disliked was when I have to hold my eyelids down so she can get the bottom part of my eyebrow. That part was painful but the sides and the middle were painless. Threading also gets more hairs than waxing since it gets every hair (waxing sometime misses hairs if they are too short and the wax doesn't grab the base). She then trimmed the longer hairs and applied some aloe vera to soothe the redness. Let's be honest, no one looks good when their upper face is bright red but the next day after waking up, I took an honest look at my eyebrows. There still blonde (apparently they do brow toning which I might look into) but they actually have a shape and look better. I wear glasses pretty much 24/7 so my eyebrows are not that important I think but "strong" eyebrows do look better. I am pretty lucky that I can go twice a year and still not have a unibrow but will probably go here until I move again. The location can't be beat and if the inside is beautiful!! Bring cash if you are only going for threading or waxing since there is a $10 or $15 minimum credit card charge. read more
