We spent several 10's of thousands of dollars on a courtyard with pavers and feel we got a second-class job. The pavers turned "splotchy" and looked like they used factory rejects or seconds on our job. If you want a high quality landscape design by landscape architects and a team that can execute the design without any hassles, I would strongly recommend that you consider Archer Services. We bought a new home with builder grade (really bad) landscaping in 2024, and decided that we wanted to take out everything (trees, shrubs, lawn) and start over including adding a swing arbor, pavers, vegetable beds, screening shrubs, new large trees, and multiple trellises. We have moved into 7 different houses over the years and improved each home's landscaping ourselves. This time we wanted someone else to do the work and were fortunate to find Archer Services. We were 100% satisfied with every part of the design and installation process. Michael listened to what we wanted in both visual appeal and functionality, and developed a design; Aaron put it together visually with a 3D design and answered all our detailed questions; Alex helped us get the design approved through a very challenging HOA process; and Ryan led his superb crew to execute the design while keeping us informed on progress and any issues. We highly recommend Archer Services! Responsive, professional, timely. Everyone involved- Micheal, Aaron, Regina, Laura, Paul, and the contractor crew were all helpful, friendly, and understanding about lots of questions. Once the job was started, they worked diligently to get it completed in a week- with one day rain delay which kept some sod from being put down right away. BUYER BEWARE! Archer Services DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY! I had Archer come out to my house to give me a quote to redo my front and back yards. We decided to split up the project into two smaller projects and do the front yard first. During the walk through with my husband and me, I asked the gentleman if we should wait until March to have the work done (this was in October). He said we didn't need to because they "fully warranted" their plants for 90 days. I clarified if that included freezes. He laughed (because it's Houston) and he confirmed it included if any plants died from a freeze. it cost us just over $5,000 for our front yard. Well, a giant freeze hit Texas less than 90 days after they installed my plants. I reached out immediately as we noticed some of the larger plants seemed to be dead. First, I was told they probably weren't dead, to give them some time and to trim them back. She also advised if we needed to replace them, we could just submit the receipts for anything we had to replant. We waited and all six of the larger plants were clearly dead. We went to Plants for All Seasons and bought one replacement plant (apparently this specific plant is in short supply). We planted the plant (which is doing fine). I reached back out regarding the reimbursement and to let them know we couldn't find more replacements. They then sent me a quote to replace the 5 remaining plants (for $205) and told me that I would have to find the plants myself and they would plant them because they couldn't locate them. Now that we have purchased the plants and replaced them, they have now decided that they would have replaced them IF they had been given the opportunity to come to my house (they are in my front yard and I DO NOT live in a gated community) and confirm the plants were dead. The last communication I had received from them was on April 12th and we dug up the dead plants on April 23rd (so they had almost 2 weeks to come and look at the dead plants). They are refusing to take any responsibility for the plants despite their "Unlimited Warranty." Seriously, they charged us over $5,000 for our front yard and provided us an "Unlimited Warranty" and now won't replace $180 (plus tax) worth of plants. After some back and forth about their 'warranty,' they agreed to reimbursement $194.95. They deposited $194.00 into my account. The other $0.95 and the rest of the plants that died as a results of the freeze aren't worth fighting with them over. read more

Sadly, we do not recommend Archer Services. We paid thousands of dollars for a redo of our beds, and they did a lousy job. Many of the plants looked half-dead when they put them in. Shame on us, we shouldn't have accepted them, but they insisted they'd be great. No problem. That wasn't our experience. They don't replace them until they are completely dead, so we had to live with them for months. Many of them just never grew, so they looked bad but weren't covered for replacement under the warranty. Although they were the ones who redid our sprinkler system and set it up, they kept blaming it on how we were watering. The worst: when they transplanted our 25-year-old, five-foot Sago palm, their crew didn't dig a hole. Instead, they cut all the roots off. It died. Of the three pittosporum they put in, two died. When we dug them out, we found out that they hadn't dug a hole for them either. Just chopped off the roots and plopped them on top of solid clay. Finally, we had them fertilizing and putting down weed control on our lawn. Half our lawn died last fall from a fungus. It appears they hadn't put down a fungicide. read more

We are very pleased with our new landscaping. After the Great Freeze of 2021 we decided our front yard needed an overhaul. Michael and Aaron both met with us one morning at our home, took some photos and videos and then created a wonderful video and quote to show us what our yard could look like. It included several options for pavers, gravel etc. We were able to work with Michael to get exactly what we wanted. The end result is beautiful! Courtney and Stacey were very easy to work with and returned calls and emails promptly. The landscapers were always on time and had a great work ethic. Our follow up was required but Archer did not respond to several follow up emails and calls; did not answer phone; did not answer voice mails. Random call to Archer resulted in a scheduled call but not a visit. The scheduled call appointment was missed - they didn't call. After several weeks a random phone connection was finally made but despite the missed opportunities for service, "first" available appointment was a month away. read more

Love these guys for their sincere care and attention to customer needs. They are always on time, and communicate with us to understand our needs, and work to complete the job to our total satisfaction in a very timely manner. Always professional and cost efficient. In October of 2016, they planted two new trees in our front yard, and landscaped around them. They were meticulous in their work and it looked beautiful. In February, 2018, we asked them to shape up those trees (along with a couple others). Not only did the trees take on a lovely new shape, but, the supervisor, Ryan, also recommended we feed them with Microlife fertilizer to spur their growth. We are blown away with the results in less than two months!! They have doubled in density and look incredible...we wish we had a "before" and "after" photo to post!!! Soooo pleased!!! read more

Impressed by their video showing me what their design would look like and keeping their word they'd stay on the job until it was finished, I had them back in 2018 to redo my front yard. I wasn't disappointed. Owing to the cold winter of 2017, I had some warranty issues. While I think my concerns might have been addressed in a more timely manner, the fact is the warranty issues were resolved without question and finished in time for me to have an outdoor family gathering. I switched lawn fertilization from a large national firm to Archer Services in 2018. In 2017, my lawn had yellow highlights all year and my St. Augustine grass wouldn't spread. In 2018, with Archer, my grass is green, increasing its density and spreading as it should. Again, I'm pleased by Archer's service. Based on their performance, I've signed up for their pruning, bed maintenance and flower replanting services as well. I'm very satisfied. read more

I would NOT use this company!!!! They were suppose to help make our backyard kid friendly and now it is completely muddy mess! I can barely take the kids outside because of all the mosquitoes now! Three weeks went by before I received a call from Chris stating he wanted to go over my numbers. There is no reason that a quote should take three weeks. I requested an estimate, so week later they came out and said they would email it soon -in a couple days - it wouldn't take long to write up. It's now been over two weeks and I still have no estimate, even though I've called a couple times. I'm told he's been "too busy" and hasn't gotten to it yet. But when he was here, I even asked how far out they were scheduling, because mine was time sensitive, and he said they would be able to get to it soon because it wasn't a big job. First, if they did not want my job, they should have let me know so I could find someone else. Secondly, my yard has even worse flooding than before. I will now have lost over three weeks by the time I find someone else to call and start the whole process again.This is NOT good customer service and I'm very upset that they treat people this way! read more

We have used Archer Services twice within the last year and they delivered excellent service each time! We had them completely design and install our backyard from a blank slate and the finished product looks amazing. We have had zero issues with the irrigation and drainage systems, and the sod they installed grew in perfectly. Aaron and Paul are both very professional and knowledgeable, and Brandi is always quick to respond to calls/emails. The crew did an excellent job and cleaned everything up perfectly. There's not a more professional company we've worked with for our home. And the best part is, that in 35 years of living at this address, we had never seen our home recognized by anyone. However, after Arron's team at Archer Services was finished, we were surprised one evening when we drove up to our house to find a sign, "YARD OF THE MONTH". I've tried several different Cypress landscaping companies, and this is the first one I'm happy with. First of all, they offer a wide range of services, so you won't have to solicit services from several different providers to take care of your yard. Mowing, fertilization, pruning, weeding, flowers, irrigation, design, construction, cleanup--they handle it all. Second, their customer service staff is top-notch. Friendly, responsive, and easy to understand, and they email you your invoice every week. Lastly, they accept online payment, which is nice so you don't have to remember to leave a check. The only slight criticism there is that they only run their payments every Wednesday, which seems weird since I try to set up all my payments on Fridays...but all in all they're head and shoulders above everyone else I've tried, and the pricing is reasonable. read more

Absolute professionals! Archer has taken care of all of our landscaping and general yard maintenance. They have worked with bus on several occasions to beautify our home. The crew even repaired holes dug by our dog while performing regular mowing. They take the time to talk to you about your needs and make suggestions to keep your yard looking great. They go out of their way to make sure that you are completely satisfied with their work. I decided just to let them do what they felt was best on both landscaping and yard care and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Aaron designed a beautiful and functional landscape for our home and Ryan, along with the crew, constantly monitor the health of the lawn, plants, and trees. They send out emails informing me of watering and fertilizing needs. They even moved up the date on a landscaping job just so that it was complete by the date for a party we had scheduled. But, the reader want's to know about the price. The regular maintenance is comparable with any other service. Even those services that just mow and edge with no business license. The landscaping charges are lower. Significantly lower than most. But the quality is excellent, they are professional, and know their business. read more

I hired Archer Services a few months ago to do some sod over an area of my lawn where I had a tree removed. They were prompt and the service was excellent! You can't even tell there was ever a tree there! I was so satisfied, I hired them for my weekly lawn maintenance and periodical flower bed weeding. They always show up on the day they promise and notify me if they can't or have to switch. I appreciate that they always keep me informed and always answer the phone. I've had at least 4 other lawn service providers who wouldn't answer the phone or come on the same day each week. I highly recommend Archer Services for all your landscaping needs!!!! read more

Big mistake. I decided to hire them for lawn maintenance based on all the good reviews. They were very quick to come give an estimate, it was good, and I loved Ryan who was very helpful and informative. After I hired them it went downhill. They could not return emails, calls, or get my services straight. After 3 months of mistakes in my service, I cancelled. Also, they have an ever changing office staff. The last straw was when they applied fertilizer to garden when I only signed up for yard. I had already done my garden the day before. When I notified them, stating I wanted Aaron the owner to call me, the office staff nearly said she would not bill for it. Now I have some flowers dying and bushes yellowing from too much fertilizer. I said I wanted to get a call from the owner, but again the office staff use said they would send Ryan. I have already researched garden centers on how to treat for too much fertilizer - basically flood the roots to get it through the soil, cut the dead plant back, and hope it comes back. I highly recommend Archer Services. I had them replace a 40 year old railroad tie retaining wall with Belgard blocks. I received several bids and was quoted some ridiculous estimates, some crazy materials, and lengthy finish times. From bid to completion I was confident with my choice. I can't say enough horrible things about the crew Archer sends to my neighborhood. They cat call and stare at the middle school girls to the point they are not comfortable walking past them (we now send a parent whenever we see the crew to meet the girls). They park in the middle and mean the very middle of the culdesac and block all four driveways!!!! We have asked them to please move and take into consideration the neighbors to only get nasty looks and told they would do what they want. The crew often blows the yard trash into other neighbors yards, and stomps through our yards to preserve thier clients yard. Thier bad behavior aside their yard work is no better, maybe worse, than other crews we have in the neighborhood. Archer replanted the entire from the bed of the home, well weeks later and half the plants are dead. The plants remained in the bed for 6 or more months! They don't weed the beds well and generally the yard looks no better for 2x a week then other neighbors who crew comes once a week. read more
