The lead tech jumped to conclusions without doing a full system review, changed out parts unnecessarily and was difficult to deal with as he knew all the answers. The owner, Chris, however was extraordinary. I texted him with my concerns. He came out with the techs a few days later, agreed with assessment and adjusted the bill to remove the unnecessary costs. That sort of honesty and commitment to customer service is very rare. Buyers must always be aware of what work is being done but to have the owner step in like this surprised me. The bushes along the entire front of the home were removed and replaced by new beds of assorted plants and landscaping rock. The new bushes are large, full and healthy looking, not your typical teacup sized fare commonly seen in new landscaping projects. Thick rock and gravel walkways along these areas were removed and new ones laid with stepping stones to the driveway. The job was embellished with many extras, mulch placed in extra areas, sod put down where grass was sparse, minor woodworking adjustments... I've gone into this detail to outline the project blueprint and the obvious experience the owner, Ernesto, possesses to pull it all together and I'm not particularly easy to work with or impress. The assigned crew had an extremely strong work ethic and pride in themselves and one another. The same folks came every day for the entire project and are marvelously in sync with one another. They were helpful and good natured, always willing to explain a task or process, each one a delight. They came one last time today to fine tune the job and move things back into place. Again, above and beyond is the best way to describe each person's performance. They earned a monetary token of appreciation and truth be known, their worth and the outcome of their work would easily merit three times the amount. We have used ADI Landscaping multiple times and we have been happy each time. Most recently we contacted Hector because a neighbor's sprinkler system froze during the recent Arctic blast and was leaking. He came out promptly, diagnosed the problem, and turned off the water until he could get a replacement part. He also checked our system at the same time, even though we didn't think we had a problem. We had turned off the water supply prior to the freeze but hadn't drained the pipe properly, so Hector showed us that it had frozen and cracked, too. He ordered the parts, plus he ordered a few extra for other neighbors who we guessed were probably in the same situation. As soon as the parts arrived, he came out immediately to make the repairs. His service was prompt, his pricing was very fair, and he proved once again that he knows what he's doing. As soon as I'm confident that Spring has arrived, we will have ADI Landscaping come out to update our front beds that didn't survive the freeze. BTW -- When he was here, Hector mentioned that several plants look dead but will probably survive with proper care. We have been working with Hector at A.D.I. for 18 months as we had to update the landscaping on all sides of our house and needed to do it in phases. After the freeze in 2021, Randy Lemmon recommended a couple of landscape companies and A.D.I. was one of the names he offered. I contacted Hector and he came out to look at our yard and listened to our ideas as well as made recommendations. His bid was received timely and was very fair. The communication was excellent through the process, and the outcome was beautiful. Hector suggested plants that are hardy and everything that was planted in January 2022 survived the hard freeze in December 2022. Last month he completed the rest of our project which included our backyard and the sides of our property. The work included installing a large drain system to address flooding from undeveloped land behind our house, sprinklers, and landscaping. Hector came out and showed me exactly what I needed which included insuring that the sprinkler system was was working properly in all the beds that he was going to put in. He installed and programmed a new controller as part of his project. Hector came out when he said he would, and his crew was very professional. He fine tuned my entire sprinkler system which included 25 zones over 3 1/2 acres, and the project was completed on time and on budget. Review One thing…read morethat has been bothering us for almost a year is the lack of new growth with our 2 sago palms due to the aggressive frond defoliation done by Leo (Owner) and (his son) Oscar. One saga palm is over 50 years old and the other is approximately 25 years old. Both sago palms have been through hard weather and freeze then recovered with nice new growth. However, there has been zero new growth. Mistakes Made Defoliating Sago Plants * Removing all the fronds from a sago palm seriously harmed the palms. * The sago palms lost the ability to photosynthesize, so they can't produce food. * No new fronds for 11+ months Mulching Done Wrong * Doing mulch wrong can absolutely kill plants. * The most common mistake is "volcano mulching" piling mulch against tree trunks or plant stems--which traps moisture, rots the bark, and invites pests. My husband noticed this volcano-like mounds around both sago palms. No Solutions Offered * Email sent with photos * Phone calls made * One phone call to Stanley seemed promising then radio silence. * No offer for replacement * No offer to remove the sago palms. * Safe Disposal Warning * Extreme Toxicity: Sago palms contain cycasin, a potent toxin that is deadly to dogs, cats, and horses. * Safe Handling: Wear heavy work gloves and long sleeves.
