They did an amazing installation and cleaned up and took away my old furnace and HVAC. They were very professional, knowledgeable and answered in detail all of my questions. I highly recommend Anthony's Plumbing, Heating & Electrical. Also, as a ASAP member the process was so easy and the installation was next day service.

This was, without question, the worst customer service experience our family has ever had…read more We trusted Anthony to install, maintain, and service our HVAC system for years. In September 2023, our AC was diagnosed as low on refrigerant, and we paid $463.51 to have refrigerant added. No leak search was recommended or documented. Years later, when we formally complained, Anthony admitted in writing that a leak search should have been offered. Unfortunately, by the time the problem resurfaced in 2026, major components were no longer covered the way they would have been had the issue been properly investigated earlier. In July 2026, Anthony again charged us to add refrigerant. Five days later, our entire system failed. We hired an independent certified HVAC technician who spent over four hours evaluating the system and identified multiple issues, including that it had been overcharged with refrigerant. While he could not definitively say that caused the compressor failure, he explained that an overcharged system can place significant stress on a compressor. What disappointed us most wasn't just the HVAC work--it was how the company handled the situation afterward. We experienced conflicting information from different employees, canceled appointments, and repeated communication problems. We tried to resolve everything privately through detailed emails and documentation before ever considering a public review. Although Anthony acknowledged that a leak search should have been recommended in 2023, they denied reimbursement. We also requested the HVAC Manager's documentation supporting their decision, but that request was never answered. After exhausting every reasonable effort to resolve this directly, we filed complaints with the appropriate consumer protection agencies and shared our experience publicly so other homeowners can make an informed decision. If you're considering Anthony, my advice is simple: get a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs or replacing your HVAC system. Keep copies of every invoice, every email, and every recommendation. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Anthony Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric.

BRRRR! Anyway....) I quickly turned to Yelp, and after seeing a few 5 star reviews, including 2 by people I know (that's why Yelp works, y'all!) and trust, I gave him a call late yesterday afternoon. He was awesome and also tried to help me resolve the issue on my own. I gave it a try, and before I could cry this morning at my complete and utter fail, he called bright and early to see if I needed him to come over! :) ROCK ON! He was here right on time, took his boots off (no booties, just socks!) to keep our floors clean, super friendly and had my stubborn frozen pipes thawed and the problem identified and solved in under an hour! As if that wasn't awesome enough....COME ON DOWN! The PRICE was RIGHT! (yeah, that's right, it's Bob Barker time). Bob Fickel is just plain awesome, and his assistant Blake was pretty nice too. Bob's my favorite plumber, even over James Denton (don't ask, or else I'll tell you). (Not to mention, it turns out that I know his niece in a galaxy far far away (western Kansas) but I didn't realize that until he was on his way out. Small town for the WIN!!) Yeah, I did just reference Star Wars and a game show in the same review. You're welcome. PS: This is the perfect review for my 300th review on Yelpdom!! PPS: The one-star review? Take it with one grain of salt.

Bob is my hero. Seriously, he reminds me of my dad. He's probably the most honest, reasonable…read moreplumber/handyman/service provider I've ever worked with. I'm assuming part of the reason he can offer such affordable rates is because he's a little old school - no website, he doesn't "do email" or take credit cards. But you can call him on a Sunday, and if he's available, he'll come right out. No after hours or emergency fees like most companies charge. My house in Roeland Park has renters, so before I found Bob - thanks to Yelp!! - it was a challenge fixing any plumbing issues from Denver. Other plumbing companies charged me $125 just to "look at the problem". It was ridiculous. Bob will only do the work that's necessary and even throws in great advice or tools to help you maintain your house. (I have tree roots that get in the pipes, so Bob just gave my renters some liquid to pour down the drain every quarter and kill the tree roots). I can't say enough good things about Bob. His business can't handle major plumbing issues, but if he can't fix the problem, he will refer you to someone who will fix the problem - for 1/2 the price (or less) of every other KC company I've contacted. He is fantastic!! If you need a plumber, save yourself some time and money, and call Bob.

I advise everyone to have a camera to take pictures before and after in places you can't see. I contacted Scott Handyman and explained the exact problem with the kitchen hood - the connection from the hood to the outer connection had come loose. I sent a picture (picture #1) showing the problem and asked if they could fix it, and the lady from Scott Handyman said yes. The technician who came said he could fix it. When I got home, the problem still existed (picture #2). The lady said she would send another technician and explained that if something arose after the job was finished, I just needed to call them and they would take care of it under the warranty. However, when the second technician came, my son told him he was damaging the wood trim and backsplash, but the technician didn't care. After he left, I tested the fan and found that air was blowing downwards. Pictures (picture #3) and a video show the piece installed was ripped and air was leaking. I contacted Scott Handyman multiple times with pictures and videos, but they didn't answer. Finally, I texted them that I would take them to court if they didn't honor their warranty. The lady responded, saying I should hire an HVAC technician and they wouldn't fix it. Too bad I cant post any pictures here nether a video. However, you can see the pictures on Google reviews.

In all, each attempt to get an updated arrival time was unsuccessful in that I received no update, and there were no communication initiated by Bob Hamilton or the call center representing Bob Hamilton. --- I understand that unexpected events do happen and schedules/obligations could slip, but the intentional misleading of customers and the willful disregard to simple professional communications is unacceptable and abusive. --- While I do believe there may have been a time many years ago when Bob Hamilton was an honest, reputable, professional, and local company, I believe that they have lost their moral and professional compass. Wether it be through growth, being acquired by a larger company, or simply a loss in morale values, it appears through their actions (and lack of actions), that Bob Hamilton is no longer the reliable and trustworthy "go to company" for the Kansas City area; we all make mistakes but our actions to honestly and responsibly address our mistakes is what makes the difference. --- Based on my experience with Bob Hamilton (past and today), I recommend that potential customers, especially those with disabled or elderly family members take a few minutes to check with the smaller local businesses who still have interest in servicing the local residents and still follow simple honest business principles. --- No, Bob Hamilton never shown up. I will maintain all screen shots of calls and messaging with Bob Hamilton and/or their representative (call center) in support of this review.
