At 2:35 I called Hamilton again. I was told that the tech called us at 1:55 to reschedule & had to leave a message. I said, THAT IS A LIE. I took the day off from working with autistic students to sit by the house phone waiting for your tech to call. The house phone doesn't have an answering function. The cell phone has been in my hand & not one call or text has been received. Again I was told that a tech will reach out shortly. At 3:46 I called again to say we still have not heard from a tech. The man Will seemed to be sincere apologizing and said a tech will get in touch. Give it another hour & if you don't hear from a tech call back. The technician was very nice and respectful but Hamilton's estimate's for repairs are ridiculous. $1200. for a new blower motor install compared to $400. for the exact same thing. Other reviews mentioned this too. I consider that price gouging especially in a heating cooling or plumbing emergency for some people. I read some of their Yelp reviews and their reply is usually the higher prices are because they are a "premium service provider" company. I'm glad I passed on this company. I also passed on the membership as I'm uncomfortable supporting a company like this. These are their regular high prices they charge because they understand that many people will be in an emergency and will pay it. As an update to my review, after Bob Hamilton said the problem was calcium deposits and and I needed a whole new toilet to the tune of $1600 I called Flushmate for tech support. The issue was not calcium deposits as two Bob Hamilton troubleshooters insisted but the older Flushmate system had an additional pressure regulator that was unnecessary for a newer model of the same system to use thus lowering the power of the flush. Once that was removed the problem was solved. Bob Hamilton isn't interested in solving problems so much as creating another sales opportunity. Never call them. read more

I called for their discount furnace tune-up. Before I could get my appt made, the girl was repeatedly trying to up-sale me. She wanted me to sign up for a program with monthly payments to shield me from future HVAC expenses. I had to tell her to stop trying to up-sale me and just schedule the appointment please. When their technician came out, he told me my heat exchanger was breached and I needed a new one or new furnace. He immediately let me know Hamilton has great monthly payment programs and he could have a person at my home within the hour to explain my options. He acted a little suspicious to me but I did have their rep give me a bid. His bid included the cost of a new humidifier and AC unit he thought I needed (up-sale). Then I called two other reputable companies (separately). Both came out. Each told me my furnace is old but does not warrant replacement at this time unless I wanted to replace it because it's old. I called the manufacturer of the furnace. They warranty the furnace for 20 years (heat exchanger) but said the furnace can last much longer. Watch out for companies like this...especially single women and seniors. Some of their technicians just want to drive a sale. Educate yourself and make a decision based on good information not the 'fear' they try to instill to make a sale. Everyone always get a second and third opinion before signing up for a $5000 to $15,000 bill. read more

Worst Customer service ever!!!! Came to inspect our sewer line after a backup, first tech came and did nothing because he did not have a camera. Scheduled a camera for next day between 8-10am. At 11 i called to ask where they were and they said they had no time frame. Told my husband it would be somewhere between then and the next day. Guy shows up and starts shovng machine down line to clean out. When my husband told him he was supposed to send a camera down to see what the issue was he was rude and had an attitude. After he left we called again and was told a manager would call us back.... Around 7 that night another guy showed up at our door and said he was the camera man. We explained it had been cleared out, he said he could find it anyway......... We where told we needed to tear up our garage floor and replace piped and a bunch of stuff. Quoted around $20,000 and how convenient we could get financing through them. Needless to say, we have NEVER heard from management and guy keeps harrassing my husband to do the work!! Not a chance we will ever call them back for anything again!!! We called another company for a second opinion, guy was amazing and took his time to find the issue and fix it. read more

The woman set up an appoint for between 6pm and 9pm and told me the cost would be 79.00, which is their advertised price. I just received a call at 4:30 from Johney, who told me since they have been here before, the charge would be 279.00. So here it is after 4:30 on a Friday and it's take it at 200.00 more or try to find someone else on the weekend. Seems like a con to me. No thanks, I don't like bait and switch. read more

I'm on their service plan and decided to give them a call when I wanted my kitchen faucet replaced. They said because I was plan, the trip charge would be waived. I provided the faucet, and it was the exact same model as the previous faucet. He was here less than 40 minutes and charged me $570! I have been trying for the last three days to talk to management to complain about their pricing structure, but no one has called me back! At a $570 hourly rate, that would equate to a $1.1 million salary! That is absolutely insane!!! read more

He canceled my membership and processed a refund for the Elite Plan, which I hadn't been actively using. Overall, this experience felt unethical and disappointing. Marketing a free plumbing service call, only to quote $300+ for a basic toilet repair, gives the impression that the plan exists mostly to get into the home and present high-cost solutions. Just spent over $3k to have 3 feet of pipe replaced because there was a soft blockage they couldn't get out. While there they poured water down my bathtub and ran water from the tub. They over cracked on my cold water faucet handle breaking the stem inside. They then quoted me $2400 to replace the faucet and would have to tear out the tile in my bathtub. They left my bathrooms a mess and didn't even bother turning water back on to my toilets. Would definitely not recommend. Very disappointing for a local company. The only plus was they were quick to get there on day 1 but probably because with service like I received they may not have much work. read more

What is weird is the process. You don't pay Lowe's for the appliance, the $$$ transaction is all done by Hamilton in my case. As a contractor I scheduled all 3, electrical, plumbing & HVAC + new condenser services for an estimate. The dispatcher Tim was extremely rude & unprofessional. He said "oh it says here your a contractor so I am assuming your not the homeowner, and then went on saying they don't do commercial work and that they were going to be too expensive for us to use, etc" I corrected him again that no not commercial, this is a single family residential home. He was still nasty on the phone, I cancelled and hung up. He claimed he was the dispatch supervisor/manager. I have 20+ more jobs lined up that are in need of services and they lost all that business. And for their information my clients don't have a set budget for any of their properties. So they missed out of a large continuous cash flow of $$$$. Their competition will be getting my business instead. read more

Very professional and courteous installer/technician. Only complaint, and it is a big one, is with the price. $2700. Heater and parts were about $800. The rest was delivery and labor for 3 hours work. I think that is excessive by any standard. read more

VERY long story short: earlier this year, BOB HAMILTON [BOB] called me from LOWES Home Improvement referrals, and they replaced my HVAC unit. They sold me on a 'self-modulating', extremely expensive, HVAC system that would, for one, end the temperature difference between our upper and lower floors, among other lofty promises and other pricey, unneeded add-ons. Turned out that their sales gimmicks were not at all true. After countless phone calls over the last 5 months - nothing has changed - and now they will not return any of my calls. I purchased a new RHEEM High Efficiency HVAC from Bob Hamilton in 2021 and I have been experiencing issues with the unit since purchase. Bob Hamilton removed the old unit and installed the larger, new unit and was responsible for pulling the permit (per contract). --- Recurring issues are related to moisture build up in the unit and excessive rust on components inside the unit; this is according to the Bob Hamilton technicians who have performed repairs and servicing. Two sensors have malfunctioned and have been replaced because of moisture damage, a line from the unit sweats and leaks about 15' from the unit, and the ducting makes loud popping noises when the unit starts and stops.... A new issue surfaced after Bob Hamilton replaced the part that was damaged by moisture last week; my home now has a grey film in the basement (carbon?) --- I looked at the permit folder affixed to the unit and discovered that the removal and install permit was not with the unit; the paper in the permit folder was not a permit from the City of Independence, MO. --- I have since requested a copy of the permit three times and was told that I would have it within a couple days via e-mail during each phone call, but I have received nothing yet. --- In my most recent phone call with Bob Hamilton staff, the discussion was centered on concerns that the required inspection was not performed and the installation of the HVAC may have been faulty. --- I wonder; Is the reason that Bob Hamilton will not provide me with a copy of the permit because there was no permit and the install was incorrect or negligent? -- Unsuccessful in resolving this concern direct with Bob Hamilton, I will be seeking assistance in resolving this issue through the City of Independence, the State of Missouri, and the Disabled American Veterans, but I felt compelled to alert other homeowners of this issue. read more

I had over $17000 work performed Thanksgiving week 2023. A Halo 5 water filter as well as a Grundfos Scala2 water booster pump. Two days following installation of the Scala 2 it failed. When the installer returned to address the failure I made him watch a Grundfos installation video. The video clearly suggests using 2 foot long flexible tubing to connect the input and output fittings. It states "no right angle fittings within 2 feet of the input, stating it will cause instability and premature failure. It also says to NOT APPLY PIPE DOPE TO THE PLASTIC THREADS as it with soften the threads causing premature leaks. When the plumber left he agreed to replace the pump and reinstall a new pump per manufacturers recommendations. The plumber never returned. No replies to my texts. I called Hamilton last week to request a refund and was told a manager would call me back. Never happened. I also called the Halo filter company and they informed me that Hamilton never activated my 10 year warranty on that unit. I have repeatedly requested a detailed since I only received a vague receipt following installation via email. 6100 for a premium pro filter, which doesn't exist. It's a Halo 5 water filter. The rest of the money is billed as CUSTOM PLUMBING. No detail about the pressure pump nor any of the other items installed. How can any company operate like this? Seriously. They don't follow up on repairs nor provide receipts detailing work performed. So I've just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to see if they can facilitate this issue. Hamilton should be ashamed of how they operate. Shameful. read more

Contacted Hamilton when they opened today and Adam was at my house within 1 1/2 hours. Paid another plumbing company yesterday to snake my sink line and he was unable to do the job. Stated he would need $850 to replace the PCV pipe in order to snake the line. On Adam's 3rd attempt today, he was able to properly maneuver the right angle to clear the line! Worst experience ever with a company. Had a clogged drain. First tech came and busted a cap off, then put another in sideways. said he scheduled a camera man out the next day. Never came. I had to call them and get somebody out. Then the camera man said he needs the other tech with the tools and he'll be out tomorrow. 2 days went passed before I call again. So they finally sent a tech guy out the next day, and he said that we needed to pay again, when the job never got done. Now it's been a month and our basement is still flooding and they won't refund us our money back, every time we call somebody is out of the office, crazy. Crazy part is, we was planning on having them out to work on our finance and other things (since we just bought this house less than a year ago) after the fixed our clog. But that ship has sailed. Extremely expensive/overpriced. Had them at our house to replace a spigot that had burst, the plumber arrived on time and was very pleasant, however got priced around $935 to replace a spigot. Which is EXTREMELY high for the 45 minutes it took to replace. I would suggest getting multiple quotes if you have the option, otherwise they appear to be more than happy to spike pricing. read more

I should have done my research before hiring Bob Hamilton to do minor plumbing work at my home. I needed two drains snaked (bathroom and washing machine in the basement). First things first, I never received a quote for this work until the plumbing technician arrived, and he told me it would be $300 per drain + $50 labor. I had taken off work to be there for this service, so I had no choice but to oblige. After snaking the basement line, the technician told me that he thought the line was broken somewhere, but they didn't have any cameras small enough to fit the pipe so the next step would be to cut up our basement floor - excuse me? Yeah, I'm not cutting up my entire basement floor without knowing IF the line is broken and WHERE it is broken. The tech then quoted me $22,000 to jackhammer the basement and replace the line that *might* be cracked. I had to stop myself from laughing out loud when I saw the quote in front of me. That's more than the price of my car. Does anyone ever fall for this? After sharing this quote with a few friends and family members, we realized quickly that Bob Hamilton is known for ripping people off with outlandish quotes. System had a 4k dollar par replaced and now needs another 4 k dollar part which they say is no longer covered under the warranty. Said needed a new board because fan won't run when in ac mode.wanted fortune to replace for 200.00 board, and raping for labor. They were going to order part and gave him a hudge discount for being old and veteran. Not going to get into but I know these guys are many times crooked and always looking for easy money because they get commission pay for selling someone even if they don't needed it. Thought was fishy so looked at board the jerked moved the wire from fan or terminal g, to common so fan wouldn't run in ac mode. I called this company to clean out our sewer line yesterday. They were supposed to clean out the pipe and do a camera inspection. The first technician that came out told us that our line was probably collapsed under our driveway. The next day another technician came out with a camera and said it would be $10k-$15k to dig out our new driveway and fix the line. And of course they have financing. Also the camera technician would not let us see the camera view. They did not come back to finish cleaning out the line. We had another company come out and they finished cleaning out the line and did not find a collapsed sewer line. I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. read more
