This branch is located in quite an old building, like a good number of Post Offices are, the only entrance is up a few steps, which is even used to transport mail in and out as the store does not have a ramp, it has a wheelchair button for access, however, this didn't appear to be working on my visit. The store inside seemed a bit messy and other than having one or two self-service machines, the queuing system wasn't handled fairly well. The staff situation was a little weird, they seemed kind yet unhelpful, perhaps this was an issue with their training which was a shame. For the main reasons of access, overall feel etc, I sadly feel this Post Office branch really lets the whole Post Office brand down as a whole, and sadly deserves a single one-star rating.

I go to this Post Office to collect any parcels or recorded delivery items that the Postman could not deliver to me. The staff in this Post Office are fine. Some of the postmen staff do their job fine too. I have never had any problems when I have come to collect my items. They sell lots of stationery in the Post Office, a lot more than you would find in other Post Offices, so I have found it handy if I need any last minute writing pads!

If you're lucky you only have to queue up for ten minutes but generally if you go at a convenient time (lunch time or after work) you're looking at a queue that goes out of the door and a wait of at least half an hour. When you finally get to the counter you may be lucky enough to get a friendly face and helpful person but you're just as likely to get someone surly and unhelpful. If you're just getting stamps then there is a seperate place to buy them and there is also a seperate queue if you want something travel related. It's not a bad post office when you consider how many people go in there every day but if I have a choice of going to that one or another one I will generally pick another one.

The queue was huge. The mix of OAP's and some young unsavoury types who were extremely drunk for 10.30am almost made me decide to keep the parcel. With three different delivery options, of which only one could guarantee a set arrival day but would have set me back over £40, I decided on a more basic delivery system. Queens Crescent Post Office feels old and looks old. Unless you are unemployed and collecting a giro or cashing in your pension, there is little reason for setting foot inside unless you are sending a package overseas.

Probably because there is a huge amount of Old Age Pensioners living in Queens Crescent and they always seems to be hanging out in the post office having chats, oh dear. It's pretty stressful if you are in a rush although in general I find post offices stressful but this one is especially stressful. That was the complete opposite of what I experienced when picking up a package that couldn't be delivered while I was out. No line at all despite the single window open in the small "office" and the employee was pleasant and helpful. Totally positive experience to all the horror stories and negative expectations you have going into it. Now you just have to move to East London to get to experience it for yourself!

There are usually two clerks available and of course there is usually a substantial queue on a Monday or during weekday lunchtimes, but that's true of all Post offices isn't it? The Post Office itself is located in a newsagents, so it can feel quite cramped when you are queuing there. The only reason I'm not giving this post office five stars is because of the lack of choice in stationary. The services they do offer are excellent. They are of course the same as other post offices but where you might have to queue for half an hour in other London post offices in this one you rarely queue for longer than five minutes. The staff are friendly and helpful and always willing to have a chat when it's not too busy. There is a seperate desk to buy lottery and stamps. I've always found the postman who collects the post at the end of the day to be really friendly and helpful too. He always accepts whatever post you give him with a smile and will wait for you if you're just getting a stamp to put on the letter.
