When we returned and it was cold, our heater wouldn't work (we don't live here full time). So I called them again, he showed up that day , I explained what it was doing (growling loudly then shutting off, we walked around to the unit, NEVER took off a panel, never hooked up any gauges ( i was watching) then after about 20-25 seconds stated " That's what I thought, you are out of Freon, so i questioned how Freon would make it growl and shut off, He stated " Freon is like oil in a car engine, if it is empty, the unit wont start" . So I asked how much will it cost to fix it. ( I know my unit is older) He stated " Well, it will be $700 just for the Freon and another $400 for the part, then it will not last for over probably a month" I said oh, so what do we do? He said, you will need to replace the entire unit. I had him give me an estimate in writing, which was over $7,300. ( on the service order he wrote Found leak in system somewhere needs new system). FOUND A LEAK SOMEWHERE?? SO i said we have a home warranty, I will contact them just to see what they will do. THANK GOD I did. They had me get a second opinion, which I did the next day. It was the BLOWER MOTOR that was out causing the growling sound, the FREON WAS FINE. Had them replace it $300.00 and It works great now. Maybe he saw an opportunity to take advantage of an out of towner or what not sure, but I will not be using them again. I sent the warranty company copies of all their tickets AND copy of the ticket of the company that fixed it.

Everyone from the owner (and his wife), the secretary, installers, and technicians have been very helpful and professional. The owner evaluated my situation, guiding me into a unit that fit my needs. He didn't try to oversell me on a higher priced unit that would probably never save us enough to pay for itself. On the contrary, he suggested a mid-efficiency unit would fit our needs at a reduced cost to us. Not only that, but once we settled on a unit, a handshake is all it took to get it ordered. Who still does business this way in 2024- not many, I'm fairly sure. The day of the install, Mr. Brown came out to make sure the installation was going smoothly. As with any bigger job, there are always some minor issues, but those were immediately and satisfactorily resolved. The technician that came out was extremely knowledgeable, also. The unit we chose was the Lennox Merit series with a single stage compressor, variable speed fan motor, and dual stage gas backup. One of our main goals was to get a quieter unit, along with increased comfort and efficiency. Let me just say, this unit, it's much quieter than the unit it replaced - night and day. Comfort is much better as well, though granted, we aren't in a period of extreme weather here at the end of October. Concerning efficiency, time will tell, but I'm sure it will far exceed our 27 year old Goodman. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend this company for not only new installations, but also technical advice and troubleshooting, I would say that this company definitely stands by their word, and they don't take advantage of folks who don't know exactly what they need. I've had work done several times by zimdall electric. Each time got worse than the previous time…read more Everything from knocking out an entirely functional wall of electricity to putting things in the ground that were already there such as grounding copper. Then the worst part was when Steve fell through my kitchen ceiling and tried to blame me. And if that wasn't bad enough that my kitchen ceiling came down they sent three guys who had been drinking to fix the ceiling. Instead of fixing the ceiling they cut a square out of the ceiling and put a square into the ceiling even though a 4x8 sheet was ruined plus and then they ruined the texture on my ceiling. And to this day it's still like that because they've never fixed it. Even though every job that I ever had them work on I paid cash money. So I wouldn't recommend them for anything. I strongly recommend anybody should call the Arkansas electrical licensing or the contractor's licensing board to make sure that all the workers that come to your house are indeed licensed in the state of Arkansas. I will say one thing that was good about the company and that was Ed. Ed was an extremely personable person I don't know what his actual job is but I would say working in a field of construction that I had for decades that I would say he would be an amazing outside salesperson because he is definitely a good talker very pleasant professional and it's got a sense of humor. So yay for Ed but he's not the one working on anything electric or drywall for that matter. So I would not hire zimdall electric. Also I have to say that this is nothing to do with the original owner Richard zimdall who is retired. This business is not owned by zimdalls anymore. So it's sad that somebody does that shoddy work using a company name who built a strong following in the Mountain Home area. I believe the owner there is Matthew Archie and not Richard zimdall

I needed to have a ceiling fan installed. Typically, I can do this myself but this is a old home…read moreand the wiring sent me to a professional. I really want to give a great review; the work they did was exemplary. But they have scheduling issues; I contacted them on Thursday for the following Tuesday at 2:00pm. When Tuesday passed with no word, I called and was told it would be Wednesday at 2:00pm. At 1:30 on Wednesday two electricians arrived and got right to work. They were quick and efficient. But they did not complete the last job and advised me that another electrician would be by Thursday to finish the work. Nobody came. I called and it rang and went to voicemail. I left a message that has not been returned. I'm optimistic that they'll be back as I haven't paid them, nor did they produce an invoice. Nice folks, they do good work, but I would definitely try to pin them down on actual days and times. I wasted all of Thursday waiting for someone who didn't call or text. Courtesy goes a long way.
