He actually beat Lowe's/Home Depot pricing during one of their big sales and their in-stock items weren't quite as nice as what I ended up with from Shay's. Delivery has been prompt (dishwasher was at the house less than 3 hours after purchase) and professional. When a part on my new range was missing after installation they ordered a replacement and got it to me quickly without any hassle. Although I always prefer to support a local business, my experience has been that Shay's offers a better product, with better support, at the same (or sometimes even better) price.

I was asking around about appliances and my boss recommended that we check out an appliance store in a neighboring town, Precision Repair Service owned by Matt Purdome. I had never heard of them, but my husband and I are so glad that we chose PRS Electronics. At that time, we called to ask if they had a front loader in stock and they did. We had it installed within a day. When we bought from them, we were just hoping for a washing machine that would work, but with our purchase we also gained an honest, knowledgeable, and service-oriented repairman. As a city kid, I had no idea that such a repairman still existed. Since purchasing our replacement washing machine so many years ago, we have called PRS to handle any repairs my husband could not fix and have purchased additional appliances including a dishwasher. As the owner made his rounds, he would stop to do the repairs at our house, even if that meant stopping after the regular work day. Just over a month ago we purchased a new Speed Queen washing machine and dryer set from them and we are so happy they recommended it. It's a large capacity, heavy duty set that works fast and keeps up with the laundry generated by a construction worker. PRS does not have a website, but they have something even better. They have a real person who makes house calls, who knows everything there is to know about appliances, and who follows up with his customers.
