My husband and I just got a retired racing greyhound a few months ago and it was past time for…read morenails and a bath. We're new to dog ownership and honestly I was a tad scared to do his nails myself. I booked an appointment for the week before Christmas. Probably should have thought through that better. We dropped our nervous Nelly off in a new environment with other dogs there, one of which would not stop barking while my husband and I were there. Half an hour later they all and say that he's just too nervous today to do anything but that they realllllly want to try again. The lady who called (my memory for names sucks, sorry) was really apologic but I knew my dogwas nervous and honestly, wasn't surprised. But I was suprised at how much she wanted a second chance so we scheduled another try on Jan 2 when she figured it'd be slower. I dropped him off and he did not want to go inside but we managed. When I went to pick him up they told me he was nervous for the first 15 or so minutes but then chilled out. I was shocked at how happy the dog I picked up was. There are many factors at play for his 180 change of heart, the spa was not hectic, it was chill and calm. The other dogs there that day were wonderfully behaved. The groomers had time to pamper him since it wasn't the crazy Christmas season. He had also started anti anxiety medication about a week before going. These all worked in my specific situation. I'm most impressed with how eager they were to see him again after that first try they really wanted him to have a fantastic time. I highly recommend any Asheville dog parents try out pawsitivity spa! Your dog will be treated like royalty.

Miss Jerri has groomed my smaller mixed breed (13pound, Tibetan Spaniel and unknown) for 16 years. Jerri can deliver the official cut per breed, but doesn't balk if you request something else. I didn't realize that my girl, Molly, would become a bit anxious when around other dogs who constantly barked. Miss Jerri always scheduled Molly to avoid this situation. Jerri cares about these animals and you'll never have to worry about the treatment of your pup. I'll add a picture of my Molly freshly groomed. Keep in mind, this may not be an "official" cut for a registered breed, but Jerri delivered the cut just as I asked.

In other words, he'd prefer a close, clean cut like my hubby's shaved head over the long, thick coat that he was graced with in order to withstand cold weather. In other words, it's miserable. I recently had extensive health issues hit, and my pup had to miss his regular grooming appointment. (Groomer couldn't fit him in for another six weeks or so.) We tried to make it, but The Scrapinator was miserable. I messaged Alison desperate for an appointment. She checked the calendar the next day, and then got Scrappy in the day after that. From head to toe, not only is Scrap more comfortable and resting better, but there was no judgment whatsoever from Alison. Just a simple, "No worries." We have his next appointment for March 18, the day before his 13th birthday. Thank you, Alison. Scrappy is rockin' his new look! On an added note: After reading the comment below, I can't help but wonder how matted the pup was. Scrappy was pretty matted. Considering he's never outside other than on a leash, it still happened. Considering that Alison DID have to go to the skin with our pup, he wasn't scratched whatsoever and very little abrasion. Thank you again, Alison.

i did not want to give a star at all but i had to to do this review...... unless you like fleas i…read morewouldnt go with this one !!! the girl was a hour and half late i paid $220.00 for everything to be done "spa day" and all she did was shave my dog leaving random long patches all over his body and told me he wouldnt let her do anymore.....and still i was ok with it ! he is a 1yr old goldendoodle who has lived his entire life inside and never had fleas and 2 days after he was on the mobil grooming bus he was whining and scratching his self to death !!! i contacted the owner not complaining about anything just to let the little girl know she had fleas on her bus and the response i got was telling me that my dog had fleas prior and that i wouldn't let her preform all the services i paid for ( mind you i did not say a word about what didn't get done on my dog at first!) i just was wanting to let her know my dog left the bus with fleas ....... i want to post pics of my dogs butchered cut and what the owner said to me but no way i can . so i paid her $220.00 to give my dog fleas now i have to take my inside dog & cat to have flea bathing and exterminate the inside of my house ! it would take a idiot to not know their inside pet that sleeps in bed with them has fleas ! so with her responce - told me she was fully aware of the flea problem and thought i was crazy enough that she could convince me my dog had fleas prior ......

She tugs at the leash to get into the groomers when we arrive, which is a really good sign that she loves Spa Day! Miranda (the owner) is so good with her clients, and she loves her non-human customers! She and her staff are very attentive to skin allergies and irritation and understanding what is needed. Our girl's hair grows fast and she sheds constantly! Because if this, we ask for a shorter cut that doesn't interfere with the double coat. They nailed exactly what we needed. Their prices are reasonable and we couldn't be happier with their services. Our girl loves going there! They do have a waiting list, so get in line early? ;-)

Our girl is afraid of the dryer, but they worked slowly and patiently with her to build her trust. She absolutely adores them. The cage-free environment is also perfect for her - puts her more at ease. Shannon and Jesse work very hard to develop a great relationship with the pets and the clients. I highly recommend them. They are truly heroes in our dog family! Love them!
