In 2006 Haverford Township sold the property to a developer with requirements that part of the land be kept for public recreation. These 5 miles of trails are the result, along with a rec center, dog park and athletic fields. On an unusually warm winter day Sheba and I went for a hike along the trails. We entered by the rec center, then followed the creek bed to the meadow & back. We passed a pollinator garden and some disc golf sites. It's a lovely hike any time of year. Trail markings are minimal, this would be the principal reason for a 4 star review. We could see the heavy autumn rains have taken a toll in a decent amount of trail erosion, leaving mazes of roots spread across the paths. As the property borders a busy highway we never quite got to the peaceful sounds of the deep woods. I highly recommend you have a photo of the trail map with you as it's not hard to get turned around. Wear good sturdy shoes, and a walking stick is not a bad idea. We swill definitely be back.

There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! I highly recommend Valley to Summit, this being my 3 rd trip with them. They Rock!

The guides were patient and helpful with the small group in getting gear on and going over all the safety equipment. They were never impatient with anyone and insanely kind. You could tell the guides truly enjoyed bringing everyone out to this amazing trail at Ricketts Glen State Park. I wasn't sure what to expect but OMG it was worth the money spent to have these guys/gals guide me through the trails. I took tons of pictures and was never rushed at all while taking in the views and photos. This company comes highly recommended amongst the hiking community even out of state.

Unfortunately, our recent trip with a group of six was extremely frustrating due to the organization and scheduling. Our original time slot was changed because there were not enough groups, which we understood. However, our new 10:20 time slot was expanded to accommodate additional groups, and we were then required to wait an extended period for a very large group that arrived late. As a result, we did not begin rafting until after 12:15, and the safety review had to be rushed because of the delay. Throughout the trip, our group was repeatedly forced to stop and wait for the late group, who frequently fell out of their raft and struggled to follow the safety instructions. I estimate we spent close to an hour collectively waiting along the river. Even the group scheduled after ours eventually passed us, and we did not return to the bus until shortly after 5:00. I want to emphasize that Olivia, Bailey, Kristen, and Sid were excellent guides and did their best under difficult circumstances. My frustration is entirely with the organization and scheduling of the trip. Additionally, while this was outside of anyone's control, we paid for Class II and III rapids, but the river flow that day was approximately 820 CFS, making the experience much closer to Class I and II. I hope you will take this feedback seriously, as this experience was significantly different from the positive experiences that led me to book with White Water Challengers again.

I was led through the neighborhood and…read morecame to a really awkward 5-way intersection where one road bends, and two others empty onto it parallel to one another but not intersecting, and 5th road is the driveway to the park, so it's by no means a conventional 5 points. Just super awkward, and despite stopping and looking both ways, some dude blew his stop (speeding in 25mph zone), and almost hit me. So finding the entrance just sucks. Once you start down the drive to the park it's even more awkward. There was zero planning for this park. Clearly land was scarce so it's a single lane driveway with barely enough room to parallel park along it, and a cramped small turnaround at the end of it by the bathrooms. 100% not enough parking to accommodate the festival I attended, but it was okay for the smallish birthday party we attended with no one else there on another day and time. If you anticipate a lot of people being there, just park on the street nearby because you won't find a space on that driveway, and you'll regret it if you do. First visit was when friends invited us to meet here for a local festival, including a free bounce slide and free live music. It was a decent band and a decent crowd sat and enjoyed them for hours while they played from under the singular pavilion, and most kids played on the nearby playground. (They also had various local businesses and nonprofits in tents around the playground, but I was surprised that every one of them was trying to sell overpriced tchotchkes or penny novelty toys for "a donation", and those weren't even nonprofits! The festival isn't necessarily a reflection of the park itself, but it definitely colored my impression of who runs things and allows things to unfold as they do. * *I will say the dunk tank was very cute (and sadly I forget who I was donating to, but it was a legit nonprofit), and that was a fair and fun way to encourage donations! Paddock has a baseball field, bathrooms in a cinder block building, pickleball, tennis, basketball, and aforementioned playground and one picnic pavilion. Friends also rented the pavilion to host a birthday party a few weeks later. They said it was easy and affordable to rent it (but didn't disclose price). In the middle of the party some 20-something came over to ask us if he could use a picnic table. I found it super rude since he didn't pay to rent anything and clearly there was a children's party going on. The table had tablecloth and party decorations all over it, streamers taped to it, gifts all over it! There were zero other tables available in the park, but that's on park planners; I'd have told him to find a picnic blanket and get lost. Our hosts were super kind to move all their stuff to accommodate his rude azz. All in all this is a safe, small park with basically all of the land dedicated to specific activity purposes, so it's not a nature-interactive site, rather an outdoor recreation site. It serves the local community, and with many residences nearby that are walkable to it, it works as it is. For non-local visitors, parking stinks, and if you aren't visiting for a specific purpose, there's nothing especially unique or aesthetic to draw you there.

It has multiple levels, platforms, tubes, benches, tables, toys, and water. The parking lot is gigantic and there are trails nearby for walks. Of course poop bags are also available on-site. As with all dog parks, but especially this one because it is so popular, you are going to encounter irresponsible owners and badly behaved dogs. I have seen owners glued to their phones, with headphones in, smoking cigarettes and completely ignoring the fact that their dog is either taking a sh!t or acting aggressively. I have seen folks arguing about whether an aggressive dog belongs in the park. And lastly, cars do get robbed. Don't leave valuables in your car! Pay attention and stay engaged, and hopefully you and your pup(s) will have a great time.

They have a smaller side for small dogs and the big dog space is hugeeee. Kinda wish the smaller side was just as interactive. There's a hose/ water fountain on both sides and plenty of balls. Either way, my 20-25lbs pups enjoyed both sides and were tired as heck after. The fellow dog owners were fairly friendly and were watching their pups. Adults find a place to get a GED or ESL tutoring at a very low cost and individuals struggling with addiction find the support they need. Every Saturday 50 seniors enjoy a free hot meal, music programs and companionship. Sports leagues fill the gym night after night and many neighbors find an affordable venue to host a party. The staff keeps the place looking great and are welcoming to all who enter. This is a place where the community comes together like no other venue in the area.
