This location in the UTEP college district is hopping. There were mostly older folks in there but the place was lively! Everyone was engaged in multiple conversations and having a great time. Aside from the food they have a good wi r and beer selection. The menu definitely has something for everyone- I was there with a group of my gal pals and the variety on the table when the food came out was amazing- everything smelled great! I had ordered the "gluten free" cauliflower crust pizza. I have a gal pal that was diagnosed with celiac disease and I have been learning a lot from her about what is realty gluten free for someone with celiac disease. I asked the waitress lots of questions and she had answers, which is great to know. So, for a pizza to be gluten free at a celiac standard, the pizza would have to be placed in a pie pan or sheet pan and then placed in the oven. My waitress told me this was not their process and the pizza went directly into the oven on the stone, the same way the other, regular dough pizzas are cooked. So what happens in this situation, there is contamination of the non gluten product with residual gluten that is in the pizza stone. This is such a headache for many celiac patients- my gal pal had to give away all her non stick cookware and utensils, her cast iron pans, her cutting boards, and more because gluten gets trapped in tiny pores and scratches and does not come out. Like I said, I learned a lot from my friend's misfortune. Aside from the gluten/non gluten issue, the pie was great! I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and the toppings were on point. You've been to one Ardovino's, you've sort of been to all of them...except for the one in Sunland Park, New Mexico. Did you know?...You can now go glamping at the one in Sunland Park? All of the Ardovino's Pizza locations don't look the same but the food and service quality is always there at every one I've been to. I would have to say Ardovino's is one of my favorite pizza joints in El Paso. I like their thin crust, crunchy type pizza. The pizzas are always fresh and made to order. My go to toppings are usually pepperoni and jalapeno. I don't mind black olives or mushrooms at times. I have yet to try their sandwiches. I tried their lasagna at the Sunland Park location. It was also very good. It looks like it's a small portion but don't let your eyes deceive you! I still got full even though it looked small. I haven't been to this Ardovino's location in quite awhile. We usually frequent the one on Sunset. This location is cozy and the service has always been good in my experience. We usually order the same things when we come to an Ardovino's pizza joint...a pepperoni pizza and one of their salads. I have yet to have any issues at any of their locations. I would recommend bringing a friend or relative from out of town to Ardovino's. This is one of the more casual pizza places we have in the 915. You can dress up if you want! My wife and I have patronized your restaurant on more that a few occasions and have always, up until now, experienced very good to excellent service and food. Yesterday (11/15/2024), however, we visited your North Zaragosa location at 3:45 p.m. and had a terrible experience. There was only one other table being served at the time and your staff was prompt at seating us with menus. After nearly 15 minutes, my wife found it necessary to summon someone to take our order. My wife received her salad within a reasonable time, however, our main dishes took approximately 30 minutes to arrive. Her dish was satisfactory but mine (lasagna) was Lukewarm at best and tasted as if it had been sitting out for some time. During our meal, our server never checked on us once. At the register I spoke with a young man identified as the manager, and after relaying our disappointment, his response was simply, "I'm sorry to hear that". Our server was at the register and apologized for not checking on us. After paying the bill, the server handed us a measley coupon for a pizza discount. First off.. we got lucky and found parking. But, their parking is a bit small. Came during dinner hour for Mother's Day. It wasn't too pack and we got seated right away. Ordered the house salad and 2 pizza (the woody and the meat lover) House salad was delicious! Whatever their dressing is, was made to perfection. The woody pizza was good. Don't love it but don't hate it either. The 3 meat was my least favorite. Just didn't like it at all. Service- our server was good and friendly. The place is a bit cramped. The tables and chairs between each other was a bit on the tighter side. But luckily it wasn't a full house so it was spacious enough. We've ordered takeout from Ardovino's Pizza several times over the past few months and have had an excellent experience every time. First of all, we love that they have options for gluten free, vegan, and "regular" diets. We have all three in our family, and this is one of the few places we can order from and all have a great meal. We typically order 2-4 different pizza combinations with a salad, and it is always fresh and super delicious. Bringing the Yelp to El Paso! Memory has a tendency of making things from childhood seem larger and better than they really were. You know, the good ole days, like my parents say, and their parents before them, and their grandparents before them, stretching all they way back to cro-magnon days (you know Thog, in the good ole days we didn't need fire, and we certainly didn't grunt with Neanderthals). But, with that warning aside, this place is as good as memory serves. Even though I grew up in San Diego, I would spend a month in El Paso every year with the grand-parental-untis and the extended clan. I know, five star pizza in El Paso? Honestly, this place has better pizza than most of the joints you'll find in either Chicago or New York, and it's better than anywhere in California (including North Beach, you snob). It's been in the family of an immigrant Italian family (you guessed it, the Ardovinos) who have been in the El Paso area since before WWII and they know their dough. The sandwiches and anti-pasta salad aren't bad either. If you're spending any amount of time in El Paso and you want something other than mexican food (which is damn good here, not that tex-mex crap in Dallas or Houston) than you should definitely try this place out. read more

I was told that Ardovino's has the best pizza in all of El Paso. Hearing this we added it to our "must try" list while I was in town exploring the area. The restaurant is a small place next to an even smaller alley on the busy street of Cincinnati. We drove around for a bit while looking for parking and finally found a spot in the alley next to the restaurant. We made a reservation over the phone while we were driving over. We walked in at around 9:30pm on a Saturday night and to our surprise it was pretty empty. The dining area is cozy with a small deli counter and tons of beer and wine bottles on the shelves covering the walls. There's also a bunch of random imported goods filling in the gaps between bottles. The rear part of the dining area also has a large flat screen playing ESPN. The menu has exactly what you'd expect -- pizza, and lots of it. There's traditional pizzas, a build your own option, and plenty of house favorites. Everything looked delicious but I finally landed on the Woody pizza (provolone, feta cheese, pesto, red sauce, pepperoni, garlic, and roasted red pepper). Even though my friends both ordered the 10 inch pizzas, I went with the medium 12 inch. Yeah, that's right. I had one thing in mind when I upgraded to the medium, cold pizza for breakfast the next day! The pizza was thin, evenly sliced (uneven slices are a pet peeve of mine) and loaded with the delicious ingredients. The mixture of pesto and red sauce was amazing and the feta and provolone did the same as well. The pepperoni was sliced thin and the edges were burned just enough to give a slight crunch with each bite. Delicious! Like I said, I was told this was the best pizza in El Paso. We each ordered a small salad with mixed greens, cranberries, walnuts, blue cheese, and a homemade vinaigrette. The salad was a good size and looked delicious, unfortunately the dressing was so salty we could barely eat it. We then ordered the 10" Mediterranean pizza to share. Again, it was the perfect size for us and looked amazing, but lacked any flavor whatsoever. There was hardly any cheese and the sauce tasted like it was from a jar. Even dousing it in Parmesan and red chili flakes did nothing to add to it. We ate half and left the rest. The only saving grace of this place is the atmosphere and decor. They took them back still cooked them raw gave them to me and only handed 2 in a bag after we had paid for all 4. I ordered a calzone last week. Calzone is supposed be stuffed specially in the middle and everything was just flat. The bread was flat thin pieces and not fluffy. The bread wasn't pinched or folded on the ends. I received like a pita with few ingredients inside and melted cheese. It's the worse calzone I've ever had. I've made calzones from scratch myself. It had no ricotta cheese as original recipe requires. I ordered with prosciutto and I had to pull it out because it was so hard that it was not edible. I double checked with the waitress that it was actual calzone and told it was. Go here and order a pizza but nothing else. The atmosphere was cute and service was good.
