CocoMiel must have the best name of any local eatery. I love this place. The atmosphere is super eclectic, the menu is longer than you'd think and the service is always nice. I have recently brought all my friends and family to this place, we sit outside and have some cocktails and tapas. By the way, their frozen mango and chamoy margaritas is all you need to love this place. As a regular patron, the only thing I have noticed here in the past was a manager that was way "too friendly" with the female servers if you know what I mean. We also witnessed him trying to get the servers to spend "more time" with some drunk male guests that seemed to be in town on a business trip dinner. The way those men were oogling the young ladies was truly disgusting. I couldn't even finish my meal. I even checked on the ladies after the men left but sadly they were so used to this treatment they didn't even notice. Honestly, after that experience, I stopped going. It's not until recently that I've tried it again and so far, I haven't seen that manager or any pervs again. I only add this here so that hopefully the business owners read and ensure all employees are treated with the respect they deserve. It would be a shame to let that type of nonsense ruin a great spot for all. read more

Stellar!! We came here for my birthday dinner the other night and it was lovely. Inside is really cute and modern, and our server was very friendly and helpful. The edamame was flavorful and doesn't need additional sauce. I loved that they have good vegetarian selections (not just variations of lettuce to appease people), but their menu includes several awesome options. I got the veggie sandwich with different cheese, and it was fantastic! The rye was delicious and I upgraded my side to asparagus, which were grilled and amazing. We went into the small restaurant to eat, but it is generally crowded. I found that they have an extension Coco Miel bar in the opposite sites of the convenience store. It is more of a bar atmosphere with music and a full bar. The good baby is the same and there is so much room there! It happened to e Halloween weekend, so the waitresses and bartenders were in costume which made things fun and festive. The food was really good! We had the pizza and chicken wings along with drinks. This place is known for it delicious, decadent hipster food. The atmosphere is both a bar mix with romance vibe: Like a French bar, intimate place. We ordered the Americana Michelada and Chilenian Michelada (each 32oz) and a few appetizers of edamame, bruschetta of half chicken/half salmon, and stuffed mushrooms. Omg. So tasty. If you're near by, Please try the mushrooms. You're welcome. Pedro, the waiter, recommended them and I have to pass along the kindness. I've come to this place before a few years back and it still serves amazing food and a variety of fun combinations of drinks. The place was very clean and the service was great. Only downside for me is that I don't drink and they were out of all Coke products. The have a fairly large rotating selection of beers. It saddens me to write this. We usually love their food, never had a problem. Today though, I don't know if the waitress was having a crappy day or what, when we got home and opened the pizza the girl had just thrown all of the Parmesan and chili packets ON TOP of the pizza. They looked like they were part of the toppings. This girl was taking payments and touching money. When we called and my husband explained, she responded "I put them in there for you." My husband said "this is unsanitary." She said "oh.". He said he'd take the pizza back and asked for a refund and she said she couldn't refund him. That only the manager could and he wasn't there until 5pm. So he took the pizza back a 5pm and the manager still wasn't there so another guy came out. He proceeded to say "we were being too particular." And tried to blame it on my husband. He said "we will remake it for you this one time only. The many years we've been going there we have never returned food. I just hope this was a really crappy day for them. Came by today and ordered pizza and wine. We asked for We received the pizza. We asked for extra vinaigrette sauce, and then amber said she had to charge extra. I said that's fine. She grabbed the cup that we already had and poured a little more into the cup instead of bringing us another container as requested. Then I noticed a piece of plastic in the pizza. At this point I went to talk to Amber, the person that said they were the manager. Instead of attempting to apologize and make things right, she began to deflect and rudely began to say we looked like someone that hadn't paid a tab. I'm from California so it's impossible that I owe any tab. I asked if she normally places plastic on pizza of those whom resemble someone that hasn't paid a tab. She laughed. I asked her to bring out the manager. She went to the back then and came back and said the manager wasn't there. I then asked how she can fix the situation. She said she would bring out another pizza and that she would have to charge me. At this point, I paid for my wine and left extra money so that there's no way I can be accused of not paying a tab. Great place for an intimate date. The decor is nice. It's not loud. But don't order the turkey sandwich. It is so bland. It's like my 13 year old was back there with a loaf of bread and a package of turkey. No flavor. Just bland. I almost fell asleep eating it. Zzzzzz. Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I have a strong affection for brick oven pizza. In my prospects to find the best pizza in El Paso, I deferred to Coco.Miel. How to describe the decorum of this place: have you guys ever seen the movie "I Really Hate My Job"? Well anyway, the inside of this place reminds me of the restaurant in which that film takes place (minus the rats, of course). Small, quaint, but with a hipster Italian feel to it. That being said, I'm so glad I decided to try this place out for lunch rather than a date night dinner. Because I feel like the place would be far too underwhelming as a date night hot spot. But that's just my opinion. I came here to try out the pizza. I decided to play it safe with the pepperoni classic. And it was...pretty damn good. The portion size is just right, too. I got the smallest size which they consider "a personal size pizza". I only got about 3 slices in before I took the rest home. As far as taste goes, it was typical brick oven style pizza. Clearly in-house made with fresh ingredients, and well seasoned (not to mention well priced). One minor complaint I have is the way they season the tomato sauce. It's a tad spicier than I care for, honestly. Outside of that, I really have no problems with it. I could see myself returning here and maybe trying one of their pasta dishes or the wings. Coco.Miel may have a strange name with a quaint and borderline cramp interior. But it gets the job done when it comes to pizza or if you're looking to stop by for a quick lunch and a cocktail. Perhaps I'll do an updated review if I find a meal I enjoy even more than the pizza. For now, Coco.Miel is worthy of 3 Italian spicy meat-a-balls out of 5. read more

Ordered the Blue Walnut Salad Twice, at different times, a few months apart. First order had rotten salad at the bottom. I pointed this out to the waitress, but she just shrugged me off. Was not helpful at all. The second time I ordered it, giving the salad another chance. I ordered over the phone, picked it up and brought it home. Had a spinach salad with only a couple of the required ingredients. My husband called and spoke to the woman on the other end of the phone. She stated the cook was new and did not offer to replace or give us a refund. I did really like the salad. I've eaten it about a year ago and It was great. We really liked it here. There's a great happy hour during the week where several of the appetizers are $5. Drinks are also $4 or $5. We had the nachos (HH $5) which were super tasty, the tacos ($2/each) - the beef and mushroom were yummy, the pork was dry, and the ceviche (HH $5). The ceviche was great too but the pieces of shrimp were enormous and it would have been easier to eat if they'd cut them into smaller pieces. The pizzas looked fantastic and we'd definitely try one of those the next time we return, but we really enjoyed what we had. They have a surprisingly great beer selection on tap and they're all discounted during HH. It's a gem in El Paso! read more

Underwhelming. Wait staff was excellent, friendly, courteous and tried to be as helpful as possible even though she was unfamiliar with the menu. Calzone did not meet expectations. There was no cheese inside. The inside was stacked pepperoni and a small slice of ham. I ordered pepperoni, ham, onions, and mushrooms. My spouse ordered the chicken bacon wrap. However, they were out of sand which wraps and offered bread instead. My husband agrees. The chicken was over cooked and flavorless and they stacked more avocado on it than meat. The food here is so awesome it's easy to ignore the customers. That being said I've never been in a place with so many negative and hateful people. Luckily the staff is always welcoming no matter what you look like. Food and drinks always come quick. However some of the customers could use some humble pie. I've gone In recently on a weekend and I don't think I'll be returning during the later hours. A lot of the customers are regulars (particularly the young men) as well as regularly hostile. We decided to stopover here for happy hour while in El Paso. First mistake we made was accidentally entering the building on the opposite side which we now know is the "coco bar". The setup of the place is confusing, but we ended up actually finding the restaurant after driving around the entire building. So happy hour is 2-7pm on weekdays where cocktails, beer, wine, apps and pizza are all $5 which is a steal. We ordered the shrimp ceviche, which was delicious and big portion of shrimp, and must I remind you it was only $5! Definitely recommend The second thing we ordered was the salmon bruschetta. Basically baked salmon on toast, still you can't go wrong with that. Because we got the salmon it was not on happy hour so beware. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is the horrible service we received. The food and happy hour is a solid 3-4stars. Our waitress did not know much about the menu or happy hour menu and even overcharged us by $8. We ordered appetizers and delivered the food to our table with no utensils or plates so we ate our food over napkins. Did not refill water once, only offered as she gave us our check. The pizza crust needs more salt, it was rather bland. The Margarita pizza was delicious, the crust was crispy not soggy. I ordered the caprese salad with spinach tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. The dressing was delicious but the minuscule pieces of mozzarella cheese are way too small, cut the squares larger so the flavor has a bit more impact. My pet peeve is extremely loud music in a restaurant!!! When I called in my order I couldn't hear the waitress because of the loud music blaring through the phone . When I went into C M the volume of music was worse. We are not at a concert, we are there to enjoy a relaxing lunch and converse with our friends. We got there during happy hour - and - wow! They have amazing pricing on a lot of key items! We were in town and we used Yelp to find this place and it was happy hour and we decided to order from happy hour food and drinks. We ordered personal pizzas and nachos. The pizzas were delicious but the cheese on nachos was too thick and they were okay. The coconut margaritas were okay but the coconut martinis were delicious. The place is super crowded with too many tables and not enough place to dance, they either need to remove tables and chairs to leave room to dance or move to a new location where there's more room. I'm addicted to the, "Mexican meat lovers" pizza, and would go even further as to say, "This is the best pizza, I've ever had, in my own opinion, yes better than house of pizza...!" Great food, good wine, delicious beer, and their coffee is amazing (double espresso & coco lopez (espresso shot with steamed milk and cream of coconut) are my favorite) They have an extensive menu. This place has been my favorite pizza spot for YEARS. I used to work at a restaurant across the street named Susaki when I has in high school almost 7 years ago. Unfortunately I never got around to doing a yelp but now that I do my recent visit warranted for me to say some thing even though I love this place so much, the food is amazing the drinks are so innovative fresh delicious and unique all this it's still not enough to excuse my last visit. Firstly, it took about 20 minutes to get a waiter to my table I had to go out and ask twice for service once I finally did the guy (HORACIO) had so much attitude. The food and drinks were divine, when it was Time to pay, in the receipt there is a QR code in which you can pay with Apple Pay. Anyone that uses Apple Pay knows that it runs on a debit sort of basis automatically withdrawing once you pay. Then the waiter informs me that they do not accept Apple Pay as a payment option even though it is a LITERALLY in the receipt so I explain to them that they themselves printed it on the receipt that was given to me by the establishment so therefore they must accept Apple Pay. The owner wants to talk to me and very rudely demands me to pay explain that he doesn't know anything about Apple Pay and assuring me the payment will be returned even when I show him the money was already withdrawn from my account he says don't worry come back in a few days if that's not the case. (Mind you I live in LA and I'm in El Paso just for a few days) Being a nice guy and seeing how this man is of older age I assumed he didn't know his way around his (own) receipts and payment options so I gave them a pass, afew days pass and the payment has not been returned. I return to the establishment and who I am assuming is the son of the owner try to just say that he'll call me back once they figure it out. I refuse obviously because I've already been waiting a while and this is ridiculous I don't have the time to be coming back-and-forth to establishments just because they don't know they themselves printed Apple Pay option on the receipts. He makes us wait outside even though it's super hot for no reason other than he's a pretentious little punk finally a lady who I've seen there since I was in high school comes out treats us nicely with respect offers us a beer and apologies for everything that's going on and tell her she will figure it out. She finally returns and gives us back the money but informs that the manager didn't allow her to serve us a drink...(obviously he's mad) At the end of the day it's not our fault that you (THE OWNER) printed out an option for Apple Pay and then have no idea how to run it...that's pretty ridiculous and then have me come back and forth during my vacations just to figure out your mistake is mind blowing.
