One of my favorite local spots in el paso :)! The Owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating to everything that I may need. The food is very delicious and i'd recommend the Enzo meatball panini. The ambiance is perfect for sitting and chatting or simply minding to yourself. Big windows for an outside view! That said, I did not find the sensibility of the kitchen or the barista's work particularly compelling. Everything was just fine and prepared and served with great care, but not culinarily inspiring or a mark of coffee greatness. Was that cafe latte actually a bit weak? In fact, there were a bunch of decisions that were made in the kitchen that I take issue with (chicken salad so sweet!). Also the location--while clean and well maintained--is a bit of a feng shue zero. It does not, sadly, transcend its location in the corner of a random strip mall. Ok, now I'm sure that Yelp eats some of my reviews. This is my 3rd time writing a review, and its saying its my first. I will say, every time, this is a 5, and not just because they are local. My favorite thing that I order here is the veggie sandwich and the berry tea or the vanilla chamomile tea. When I ate meat, I use to get a side of the tuna pasta, but now I'm sticking to the potato salad. The veggie sandwich has roasted peppers and artichoke hearts on a soft roll. I know people who add chicken to it to make it even more complete. The thing that gives the place that perfect rating is the people who run it. One of my favorite little gems in the Northeast! I used to come here all of the time until I moved out of town. I do come here every time I'm back in town and I honestly think it gets better each time. Everyone is extremely friendly, the service is great and the food is excellent. Every time I go, I have to get the vegetarian with the tuna pasta on the side. I add chicken and hummus to the sandwich. It's so good!! I always tell myself I'm gonna get something different, but I just love this sandwich so much, it's hard to convince myself to get anything else. Super cute small Italian lunch place! I have no complaints on this place. Let me just start off by saying that this cute little restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza where it doesn't seem to get too much traffic. I had never been there before and our server Giovanni (hope I spelt that right) was keen to recommend to us what was popular on the menu and what were his favorite picks! They have all sorts of coffee drinks available which was one of the reasons I picked the place. My boyfriend had the Enzo hot sandwich, which was a meatball sandwich that comes with your choice of side. I had the Sesso sandwich which was a chicken, spinach and cheese sandwich with a side of tuna pasta! Super delish and light for a lunch option! My boyfriend had the cappuccino and I had a macchiato. It's a wonderful little Italian coffee and sandwich shop! Everything tasted amazing and it was very inexpensive! Pretty good lil lunch spot. Ive been coming to this place for awhile now but only for their iced lattes which they make very good! wayyyy better than Starbucks or any other coffee place around. Finally i got around to trying their food as I've been craving their Bagel Lox platter. I was thrown off at first as I was expecting an open faced serving of the salmon but it was served in sandwich form without cream cheese or capers. Apparently people have wanted to add their own cream cheese and capers as they've complained of too much or would prefer no capers at all. They also preferred it in sandwich form which is new to me. Ive always had it open faced. Still pretty good nonetheless. It came with 2 sides and I chose the salad and potatoe salad. Both were equally good too, just kind of bland tasting in my opinion. I also ordered the soup of the day which I assume was potatoe chowder. Really good flavor and consistency. OOOOOOH MY GEEEEEEEEERD! I flippin' love this place! Period. End review. Haha no that would be so unfair of me to rant about the "ehhhhhh" business's, but only spare two sentences and a word for the most amazingly, delicious Italian cafe in El Paso. So I will write away about my new favorite quaint northeast cafe. The food junkie that I am, I'm always dragging people to places they've never heard of and forcing them to eat things they've never imagined. Yes, I get a kick out of this, but my heart is in the right place. I just have a passion for [ridiculously great] food and adventure that I love sharing with my family and friends. I did a quick innie-minnie-miney-moe and landed on El Papa...only the toughest food critics I've ever met. Okay, maybe I was already at his house and we were hungry, but I swear he is hard on restaurants. Of the hundreds (maybe thousands) of places we've eaten at, there have only been two places he's been enthusiastic about...both out of town. So after talking him out of the ridiculously packed IHOP that just opened in the NE, he said, "Okay where are we going to eat then?" And then he grumbled something about not picking something on Mesa. Yelp to the rescue! I searched nearby, scanned a couple of reviews and said, "Buon Geeegeeerio-something Caffe." I could sense his skepticism, but he humored me anyway. We pulled into the parking lot and his face read less than impressed. We walked inside and the cute, yet cheesy Italian decorations did not charm the pants off of him. I ordered an Italian soda and then he thought he was being clever so he asked for an ITALIAN water. The waitress smiled and said, "Okay," because it turns out they do serve Italian water. He quickly changed his drink order to "El Paso water." Yes, he specifically asked for El Paso water. The menu is smaller, but I appreciate that. It lets me know they've mastered all dishes available. We caught our server as she was getting off her shift, but another server (possibly an owner...I'm still unsure) came over and made a few recommendations and also let us know what the most popular dishes are. My dad landed on the Potato Soup and the Enzo Panini with the Tuna Salad. Unfortunately he didn't share the soup, but he did speak highly of it. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Sandwich on a croissant with the Mustard Potato Salad. The sides are very...homely. You know nothing extravagant, but it just compliments the plate well. The sandwiches...OH EM GEE! Can I have one everyday? Seriously! There aren't enough words. I just loved it. Perfect. Light. Filling (an oxymoron, I know). Delicious. The salmon was fresh...apparently even in a desert you can get great salmon. And you know what? Even though the salad was fairly simple, I'm a huge fan! The vinaigrette was what really made it so tasty. I left full. So did my dad and that never happens. And he left raving about this place.
