    Ridiculous playground "historical site"
    Molly S.

This is the worst $12 a person I've spent in a long time. "Historical" includes giant playground/style pirate ships, most of which are closed to play. The lighthouse museum is one room with no historical information. The lighthouse also appears to have been replastered just to appear old. Total waste of time and money.

I wanted to really like this place given the lighthouse. It has potential but right now it needs some major love. The splash space is way too small. It's a splash pad and a small pool 3". Super crowded given how small they are. The animals including those in the small aquarium are not being well cared for. I felt sad seeing the animals in dirty water and the donkey with a bad infection. The light house is beautiful but not open so you can only walk around it. And the historical pavilions need some serious work. Would come here again.

My 2 year old had a blast, from hidden treasure and life aquarium in a cave - to an outside water park with all your necessities . It was educational and fun. Everyone was friendly. We literately had the park to ourselves

Passed by the park once again to enjoy time with the family. As always, we had an amazing time and LOTS of fun! I saw they were improving and building a new area! I cant wait till it is done and see what it is! This is a park you cant miss coming to when visiting Arecibo!

Great place to spend with the family, the kids can learn a little bit of history, they have a pirate cave with an aquarium and the kids would love the mini water park.

    Lighthouse at the top

With parking and admission for two adults it came out to $28. Most of the attractions are for children so the most appealing part for us was the actual lighthouse and views from the top of the hill. Included with the fee are access to the aquarium, a public swimming pool, a small zoo with just regular malnourished domesticated animals, and of course the lighthouse. Unless you're planning to use the pool, which is not very big, the rest of the attractions are outdated and not well taken care of. In my opinion, it wasn't worth $14/person to get in. However, we did want to look at the lighthouse which is considered a historical site and the only way to see it is by paying admission.

The lighthouse and grounds are gorgeous. The aquarium is very cool and fun. The rest is... earnest. It's definitely worth seeing, but go for fun, not education or high entertainment. A lot of it is rather campy. As long as you go with those expectations, you'll have a nice time.

Excellent Place to visit & historic to. Beautiful all around this place in Arecibo Puerto Rico very closed to the beaches in the area. Beautiful to take pictures and video don't forget. ok

It was fun for the kids, especially the splash pad. Wasn't anything over the top, just okay. Bathrooms a little dirty. You can't go to the top of the lighthouse. Overpriced for what is offered.

Could be fun for kids. Definitely a rip off. 12$ even if you just want to see the lighthouse.

This historic Spanish fort was built in the 1500s & played a major role in defending San Juan from sea attacks during the colonial era. Walking through it, you can really feel the weight of that history. The thick stone walls, open courtyards, tunnels, and lookout points all reflect how strategic & intense life had to be back then, especially w/ the constant threat of war & invasion. What really hit me most emotionally was just being there & taking it all in. Standing on the grounds overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it was easy to imagine what it must have been like centuries ago(soldiers watching the horizon, waiting for ships to appear). There's something powerful about physically being in a place that played such a major role in PR's history. It was honestly a really memorable moment for me. Not just b/c of what I learned, but b/c of how it felt being surrounded by so much history in 1 place. It gave me a deeper appreciation for San Juan & the stories built into the island itself.

They recommended so many amazing places to eat and shop, in and out of the property. The prices for food on the property were reasonable and there were a lot of different options for food choices. The big Concha restaurant on the property is absolutely gorgeous at night but it is a bit pricier than the other food options on the property. There are 4 pool ameneties you can choose from, with one being adults only. I loved that you have the different pool options. However, I wish the pools were bigger. I felt like it made more sense to have fewer pools but, bigger to fit more people but, we were comfortable in each. The beach is beautiful and every day there were plenty of surfers riding the high tide waves. It wasn't the best beach for swimming since the tide was so high and waves were really strong but, lifeguards are on the property to help those who have trouble getting in and out. We stayed close to shore to prevent any accidents and enjoyed watching surfers ride the waves each day.

For a hotel charging over $200 per night, I expected much better service and attention to detail. The property showed signs of poor maintenance, including dirty floorboards and dusty areas throughout the resort. The staff was also disappointing. Many employees rarely greeted guests, and even when I spoke first, I often received little or no response. While the location is excellent, the overall experience fell far short of what I would consider a luxury hotel. Based on my stay, I would recommend saving your money and considering other options.

Castillo de Serrallés is still a wonderful place to enjoy a great historical tour. The castle remains beautiful, offering breathtaking views of the city and surrounding areas. Although the parking situation is not the best, you will not be spending a very long time there, so it is manageable. For me, the experience felt very different because when I was a little girl, we used to visit and it was amazing to see the castle and La Cruceta del Vigía without so many fences around them. Even so, it continues to be a place full of history, charm, and beauty that is definitely worth visiting.

At the end of the tour is the gift shop and you can purchase some refreshments including alcoholic beverages. I wanted a pina colada and it was terrible! Ruined my taste for the last time I had one in PR. Overall, it was just ok and we got the low end tickets which were 18.00 a piece (not incl taxes). My recommendation is to drive up there and walk around the outside and take pics.
