The only reason they get one star is because you can't leave a negative. This is the second time I have been in Arego's since moving back to Hot Springs. Definitely my last. Both times I made several times around the shop. NOT ONCE did any of the staff standing around ask if I needed help. Only a young kid asked if he could pet my service dog. His vest has very bright letters reading, "Do Not Pet." I'm a retired LEO, that has been in numerous gun stores, by far Arego's Guns is the worst service (or lack of) I've ever witnessed. My buddy recommended this place to me because he saw a gun I wanted there. So I drove 2 hours to go check the place out. The people were very nice and they did have a large selection. The the reason I'm giving them 2 stars is they are extremely overpriced on their firearms. The gun I was looking at was almost $200 more than anywhere else. I love this place for buying new and used guns! Friendly staff and fair prices. Not the lowest prices, not the highest prices but fair prices. My only complaint is that they are missing the boat in two areas. #1-They undervalue trades. Having been a gun dealer myself for a number of years, giving fair value on trade-ins can be very profitable. You can sell more and make more money if you trade. And Arego's doesn't do trade ins very well. #2-Upside your sales on new and used guns. "We have ammo on sale for your gun. We have magazines and holsters for your gun. Would you be interested in looking at them. Yes, I can make you a deal on them because of your purchase." Nothing wrong with that and it ups your sales. Other than these two things, I'm a fan of Arego's Guns. read more

Hey Dsanja, I couldn't help but notice that this is the YELP! sight, managed by the Yellow Pages people. Perhaps your beef about being closed on Monday is with YELP! and not Arego's. I did not see any hours posted on their website: aregoguns.com. I got a good deal on a couple of Ruger 22 pistols and ammunition (9mm, 45 ACP and 22LR). Who in the hell is not open on a Monday and it supposed to be a gun store me and a buddy went down there to go and purchase some guns and they have on their website that they are open Monday after we drove 50 miles to Hot Springs we found out they were not open cannot even say how pissed we were the only difference is that they have refused to update their hours on their website so if you're going off of that you're gonna pull yourself into thinking that they're open Monday through Friday when I actually open Tuesday through Saturday read more

I am a professional rifle instructor and the level of disinterest and condescension I encountered when I wanted a change in the scope mount of a new rifle purchased there cannot be adequately described. Their proposed solution to my problem was just plain wrong and would have been a disaster if implemented. These people are only interested in selling you a product and if that product does not meet your needs, they could care less. Service after the sale apparently does not exist. There is no gunsmith on site so if you need a modification to your new rifle, you are on your own. While they do have a good stock of guns on hand (the only reason for even one star) simple extras like sling swivels are conspicuously missing and their prices are way too high for the attitude of this shop. I will avoid this shop in the future and would advise shopping elsewhere. read more

I purchased a Ruger 10/22 for an Appleseed project at Arego's recently. I noticed right away that no one offered to help me, since maybe I did'nt look like a serious buyer, or maybe because I'm an older woman; I don't know. Anyway, when I did get help, he was nice enough, I guess. I gave him the list of what I required, which my brother had given me, and it was a very specific list. I don't recall, at that time, that he mentioned that they had no Piccatinny scope mount that I required. So I was to pick up the gun when it came in & was told it would be set up & ready, which it was'nt. I had to ask several times for each of the items I'd purchased, which were prepaid, as the salesman did'nt know where they were. I waited while they put on, I assumed, the proper scope mount. In truth, I'm a novice, so did'nt know to ask again if it was the proper scope mount & assumed it would be. I'm 6' tall and when I saw it, it did'nt look right, but I took it, hoping it could be adjusted. It could'nt. I spent several hours the 1st day of the event with a sore neck, until they gave me a loaner rifle, which I had to use the remainder of the weekend. The scope was set so far back that I could'nt focus it in the prone position we were required to use (or in standing or sitting), which largely contributed to my bombing out on the tests. So, fast forward to Tuesday. My brother, sister-in-law and I went in to see what could be done. We walked in and right off..not friendly or helpful. OK. Eventually we got someone to help us, but he was reluctant, since we needed a problem resolved. Then the (owner?) arrived and was extremely condescending to all three of us. My brother is an expert marksman, and explained carefully why I needed this particular mount and asked if it they had that one, or could get it. The man looked at me (even though my brother was the one speaking to him) & almost sniggered, then scoffingly said, as he was walking away, "What you need is exceedingly rare, and I've been shooting my whole life". He then dismissed us, as if we did'nt know what we were talking about. No offer to order the right mount, which I would've paid for. When asked if I could trade in the brand new mount? No way. Did they offer to make it right? No. I spent $971.00 to be treated like crap. I will NEVER go back, nor recommend them, EVER. Went across town to Pak Plaza where a very professional gunsmith nicely offered to do exactly what I needed. No big deal, he said. Thumbs down to Arego's. You lost me as a customer, as well as, perhaps, everyone I tell this incident to. read more
